Congrats, Mike! Really hope you're bringing this car to Rennsport!
Thank you MH
Its on my bucket list!
Cheers
Congratulations part 1! Can't wait to hear it run! Great video again and as to URO, I went for a tour of their facility last weekend. Amazing operation that scientifically tests every part they sell. Was very eye opening.
Thank you R
Thats awesome you were able to tour URO's facility.. I need to put that on my bucket list for sure!
They really have gone the extra mile in considering all details when making their products.
It's nice that through this project we can discover the quality manufactures!
Cheers!
Great milestone Mike! Looking forward to hearing it run in the next installment.♥️
Thanks Jeff
Start up coming soon!
Cheers!
Getting closer and closer Mike.. this looked like a real nerve-racking moment to me..
Your attention to detail has been an object lesson in car restoration.. no short cuts, no "near enough is good enough"..
I'm sure they're all watching this at the factory!
Thank you Pip
This project has been a real lesson for me=) A test in patience and appreciation for close fit and tolerance.
The germans a remarkable engineers!
Cheers!
So many years since I watched the early episodes, I can't wait to hear this car run.
Hello Robert
Thank you for being so dedicated
Yes it has been a very long haul indeed.
Saturday you will finally hear her run!
Cheers!
Wow. Your detailed installed is amazing.
Thanks Dan!
Cheers!
Mike on early cars, the oil tank would occasionally drain into the sump. There is a check valve added to the pick up line to the tank later on early cars. if yours does not have one I would add it..I would be at the connection of the line to the case, pretty simple to add and will save many start up headaches later.

Awesome Mike. Am about to install the driveshafts in mine so be interested to see how you tackle that if possible! Good luck!
Hello Anthony, There is no video work on the half shafts as they were very simple but messy to install.
New complete units with new replacement hardware. They install easily if the wheels are off.
Secure one bolt into the transmission side first and then one bolt into the wheel side finger tight.
Making sure you have adequate Molly grease, Its extremely messy and grease oozing out everywhere but
not bad to install. You can rotate by hand as to add the other bolts tho both ends. Once everything is in place you can then begin tightening and final torque. A long bar wedged between the lugs and the ground will stop the shats from turning as you tighten and torque.
I hope this helps!
Good luck!!
Looking good, Mike. Not too much longer now!
Thanks Chris
Yes its almost over!!
Cheers!
You must be thrilled to be at this point. I would have done a little dance for sure!
Hello Kaplan
Yes i'm thrilled for sure..it feels as if a lot of weight has been lifted off my shoulders
Cheers!
This is like the Lunar Landing in 1969!
Thanks MQ..Im not sure it has quite the same impact=) but probably similar in how long it has taken
to get the job done...7 years..
Cheers!
@@MikesRestorations The high quality of this restoration, and the detail of each and every video will serve as lessons for all in the future. Many thanks for all of it.

Top 👍
Thanks Jean!
Who makes those jackstands? Or did you make them?? those are confidence inspiring.
Hello Ocavant
They are new style heavy duty from Harbor Freight. 22ton and extremely heavy but I think the design is so much more stable
for any heavy work.
Cheers!
@@MikesRestorations Mike, thank you. I’ll look for them. There is nothing more important when you are working solo and without a lift then good solid stands.
Most of their previous offerings did not have good pad designs let alone those jankie pawl issues they had, and issues with collapsing. Those you have look like they would even work on soft asphalt. Every once in a while Harbor freight puts out a really good product in the midst of all the junk.
Also just a note how impressive your attention to detail is I can only aspire to do that, thanks for the inspiration!
@@ocavant You are very welcome! It has been a great pleasure to share this special car
Good luck with those new Jack stands! They are awesome=)
Nerve wracking.
Not a lot of forgiveness in there Gregg!
Cheers!
I hate to say it but i bet you pull it out again to fix the clutch :(
Hello Kirk happy 4th of July! Clutch is working great.. so far no issues there
Cheers!
@@MikesRestorations That is wonderful news!
