I don't know how many times I've written "That looks incredible Mike!!!" but it really does.
Thank you Matthew!
It’s absolutely perfect .. better than original for sure . Best restoration even seen
Thank you Steph
It's been quite a learning curve for me. My hats off to the engineers and craftsmen who build these cars back in the day
Very impressive!
Cheers
Absolute jewelry. The hours of diligence and perseverance are on display here. An inspiration to the DIY'ers out there. This home built restoration will rival the best concours restoration shops.
Thanks Charles
I really do admire those restoration shops..I can't imagine trying to make a living restoring and building these old cars.
The patience needed and the tolerances of the engineering can really test a person.
Mine has been put to the test for sure=)
Cheers!
So kick ass, Mike! Congratulations on this killer milestone. Good on you.
Thanks MH
Im ready for a new chapter
Cheers!
Absolute perfection!! As an owner of a ‘67 911 normal I’ve enjoyed this journey. Your videos are very therapeutic to watch! 😊
Thanks krz I’m glad you are enjoying the series
Cheers!
Mike, this hobby of yours and mine is one of patience and gratification. We can hear it in your voice "....in all her glory..." when the satisfaction of a job well done is before you. Odd how we can almost forget about all the time and effort required when the key is turned and the clutch is feathered for the first time. Congrats on the progress and thank you for the help on my current 912E project. Your videos are a constant reference for me.
Hello Mark
Im so glad these videos can be helpful.. It's a massive undertaking and will defiantly test the limits of ones patience.
Mine has been brought to the edge with this one=)
Lots of luck with your 912E!
Cheers

The engine looks incredible-so clean and shiny. I’m watching this as I vacation in Japan. Your work on this project would impress even the best craftsmen of this country, no doubt!
Hello Derek
Sounds like your are having a great time! Vacation in Japan sounds so fun..
I have many car friends as collectors and mechanics in Japan and yes you are right they are quite the craftsmen!
They do some amazing things indeed..
Have a great trip and safe journey home😉
Cheers!
@@MikesRestorations wow, that’s amazing that you have contacts here. I lived here when I was a kid for 3 years. This is my second time back and it seems rare for people stateside to have friends here. Very cool.
Congrats - very exciting moment! I look forward to watch the start up of the engine!
Thanks Vikram
That moment is just around the corner=)
Cheers!

Hi Mike, hope you're keeping well. Wow! She looks awesome, almost like sculpture. High Art, indeed. You've done a super job on this engine and it's been testament to your patience and diligence. I just want to sit and look at it now, just for a while. Looking forward to hearing her running. Thanks for sharing. Stay safe and keep up the great work.
Hello Pedro Thank you
Yes my patience has been put to the test on this project! Im so happy we are finally ready for a new chapter
Start up coming just around the corner=)
Cheers!
Been watching with great admiration and respect since you started. Always looking forward to the next installment. Congratulations on a job well done. You are almost there. Will miss the updates but will be happy that you are driving and enjoying your car.
Thank you Stephen.
Wow! that's awesome you have been with us form the beginning. 7 years!
We should have a running car real soon and hopefully some fun videos coming with better coverage of the final product,
once we get her out of the booth.
Thanks for always tuning in=)
Cheers!
Well done Mike.. that note of satisfaction in your voice touched me too.. I'm waiting for the day when you torque down that final bolt, give the windscreen one last wipe, check the oil level again - and then start 'er up!
If you put a row of seats in your workspace, you'd fill them all..
I'm sure this is compulsory viewing at the factory too.
Thank you Pip
Its been been a long road traveled and I'm so happy to finally be at this point.
Hopefully we will have a running car real soon=)
Cheers!
Very impressive Mike. Looking forward to the maiden voyage video. It’s coming soon!
Hello Jano Thanks
Yes for sure that maiden voyage is just around the corner!
Cheers
A thing of beauty Mike. It will be nice to see the car itself again, it's been a while.
Thanks Quicktastic. It will for sure be a relief when this is installed and we can get a fresh new perspective on things
Cheers!

Thanks David
We are almost there!
Cheers

I will set up my Rayban because of the the reflection on my Imac, because of the shine of this engine, hahah. Hat off again.

Great job, Mike.
Thanks Oscillon
Cheers!
Just stunning Mike, been waiting a few years for that first start up, seems as though it's just a few weeks away now.👍👍
Hello Nick
Yes its actually been 7 years in the making..Im with you on that one=)
Its finally time to hear this engine start
Cheers!
Mike... It would be great to see this car featured on Jay Leno's channel when finished.... Somebody send him a message 👍
Hello Andy
Im a huge fan of Jay, Unfortunately I don't have any connections there
It would be fun though=)
Cheers!
Been waiting to see how this would turn out. Absolute perfection!
Thanks Jeff
Im so happy with the finished product.. Its finally time to move forward=)
Cheers!
That’s too nice to hide under that deck lid Mike. Great stuff. I feel your pain on the hoses. I made the mistake of releasing one on my SC to do no.1 plug. Saved 30sec doing the plug but still haven’t got that hose back on right. 😂
Thanks Tom
Yes these tolerances are crazy! I don't know how they were able to move things through an assembly line
with such unforgiving tolerances
Cheers!
quite a build. Amazing
Thanks Amunsen
What a fascinating technology
Cheers!
A work of art. Don't start it. Leave it as it is ;-)
Thanks annoo .. you bring up a good point😉
It would make a nice decoration for the living room
Cheers!
Hi Mike
Still loving every episode.
I was wondering if you could make a longer episode with the marriage of the engine and chassis?
Mat
Hello Mat
We have a video coming up of the installation soon!
Cheers
Mind blown Mike
Phil we are almost there!😀
cool
😎😍🤙
Engine porn: you know it when you see it!
Thanks Christopher
Quite a choice of words to describe something=)
Cheers!
OMG PLEASE run plug wire #1 through the lollipop
Hello Kirk
You are very observant! Yes at a glance it wild appear that the #1 goes thru the lollipop and the coil wire outside.
A very close inspection of the old photos clearly shows #1 outside and the coil wire running through.
I tried running all 4 wires through the holder but only three will make it through.
However that's not saying that they may have made some changes later.. Anything is possible with Porsche
Cheers!
i think the chrome muffler tip is on backwards dont ask me how i k now
Hello K
Yes for sure it seems backwards but the slash actually tucks under the bumper and the blunt end is out.
Might look cooler your way
Cheers!
@@MikesRestorations no that is right i put mine on slash out on my 87 and my mechanic thought it was hystericall wrapping this one up whats next 105 alpha?
Don't hide the engine, should be set up for an indoor display. Build a to go engine.
Thanks James, I like your idea.. These old engine are just so cool to look at
Cheers!
