@JonesBeiges What do you mean? Are you implying that what you said is a good deal? Personally, I’m not a fan of paying money for games I’ll never own, that can be taken away from me at any time. I’ll stick to my N64. And just so you know, adding… to the end of your message doesn’t make you sound smart, it makes you sound pretentious.
All they needed to do was to get that Black Flag experience unto MMO code, slap a bit more content variety and expand what was already there and boom, profit... I guess that never happened eh?
When they had to replace a director a second time game should’ve been scrapped. I honestly does feel like it’s got 3 old games mashed together to make one. I played open beta and it was a huge let down. Ubi has been getting worse and worse on the games they release.
I put in dozens upon dozen of hours with AC:BF. The graphics of this new release doesn't look all that much better. The shooting mechanics of S&Bs are worse. The ships give no feel of being under sail but feel motorized and plowing through the water nose down much of the time. AC:BF has tons of on-shore fighting and exploring. S&B has maybe 5% of that. This release is a nightmare and will be totally forgotten by early spring.
Ubisoft needs to fire its upper management and put some passionate devs incharge. I am 100% sure the devs are being forced to develop something monetizable by these Business graduate suits who have never played a single AC.
Couple of things; Don't trust all those 'positive' posts on the Subreddit. While I imagine there definitely are those who are huffing the copium like there's no tomorrow, it wouldn't surprise me if Ubisoft are using AI to generate fake posts in order to give the illusion the response is more positive. Secondly; it's a Ubisoft Live Service game, it's going to get shut down within a few years and any money people would have spent on it will be wasted. Just look at The Crew. Ultimately, the game is not releasing on Steam (probably to avoid the negative reviews), so it's not going to sell well. Ubisoft says we "need to get used to not owning our games". Well Ubisoft needs to get used to us not paying for their shitty games.
Valid question, and to tell you the truth I didn't know that was an option! To be fair the beta's didn't explain any additional controls or options very well, it kind of just told you the very basics and sent you on your way. But that's on me, I should have checked the additional settings to find that as an option!
It was made by Ubisoft. It was made by a B-team with revolving leads. It was made as a live-service game. How anyone didn't see the red flags is beyond me.
Surprised noone let Philippe Tremblay know not to stir the "you will own nothing pot". Havent been interested in ubisoft games in years. Glad Phillip further enforced my feelings.
I think you make some valid points. I think a lot of the criticism the game has gotten is well deserved. Sure there are some good aspects of the game…but those aspects don’t justify charging $70 for the game. Especially when it’s literally focused on 1 aspect of Black Flag and still manages to fail at it. Sure, the Loathsome Dung Eater Ubisoft Andys will rush to wait in line to consume the shit Ubisoft feeds them. They will make any and every excuse to NOT acknowledge the valid points being made. It is what it is. “Skull and Bones is a naval combat focused game!” Yes…and Black Flag, a game that is 11 years old, does naval combat better in EVERY way. Strategically how you actually have to think when navigating while firing the cannons to give yourself the advantage, and taking into account position of ship, and cannons on the ship. Dynamically how the weather has a MASSIVE effect on how you fight, and can be your best ally or worst enemy. The immersion of a ship raid, and not to mention the amount of risk you have to take into account. All aspects that are missing from SnB. It’s NOT even debatable. Even BDO does Naval combat better…which is sad, because naval combat isn’t the main focus in BDO. I think it’s fair to have the opinion that the game is a down grade when you compare it to the game it was inspired by. It doesn’t discredit someone else’s experience at all. It’s seems that people don’t understand that. You aren’t telling anyone to NOT play SnB. You’re just sharing your opinion. Personally I played the beta. Spent 30 hours (that I can never get back) playing the game, and was left feeling disappointed. It just didn’t really meet my expectations, and it definitely doesn’t play like a AAAA game that’s worth $70 dollars. I’m sure some people will enjoy the game, but I think the ONLY thing SnB will accomplish, is getting players to play Black Flag again. Sorry for the book. I felt your video was well thought out so I wanted to give you a well thought out response. Keep up the good work.
I noticed that theres a lot of esthetically pleasing characters about the ship, I can't wait to be able to purchase my own crew or indevidual crew with real money, 12 bucks a crewman? Maybe 30 bucks will get me a whole set.
I dont find it too bad but getting past some of the missions is awfully hard work. It doesnt tell you what to do. I gave up on the mission where you have to collect acia. I unless i have a bug, i cant do anything.
I try the game during the Open Beta and now, you can try it for 8 hours for free. But Still. NOT WORTH IT. Like you say "It's dull". It's. Look. I like the Sea. I enjoy the ships, I like the Pirate Theme. But I'm not having fun. The missions are go to point A come back to B, get a lazy reward. I want that Black Flag battle, with a Sword and Gun, I want to see my crew fighting. I want better missions.
It's unfortunate waste of what they did have. It needed more fighting and free roam added. And the ability wonder the ship and coasts. And no healing mortars, or countless bad ideas they had to implement. If something needs another 2 years, so be it. What they had wasn't enough for release. CDPR could tell you what happens when you release to early. They needed another team implementing what Ubisoft does great anyway.
The game originally revealed at E3 looked so good, ships were big and looked amazing and menacing that had hundreds of cannons on it and cool looking customizations but what we got are comparatively small ships that can have at most four cannons on each side. Even the menu art looked amazing but what we got was a generic Ubisoft menu that we get in all their games now days. It looked like a natural progression to Black Flag's ship combat. But we got a severe downgrade even when comparing to that game that came out 10 years ago. The game honestly looks worse in every way now, even the graphics look worse. How did they fck this up so badly?. They are so out of touch with what the fans wanted its insane. Sure some people will like what we got and that's fair i guess but im not one of them, i think the game is a massive downgrade in every way from what we got before. Hell, even Odyssey had better ship combat, sure not as flashy with explosions everywhere, but objectively better in every way and there you fought with fcking spears lol
It starts with "The dawn of capitalism" because if only communism existed sooner, there would not have been piracy and slavery, right? Then you hear the distinct voice of a "diverse female pirate"... Totally a thing, right? After such a hefty serving of "The Message", I honestly don't care about the gameplay. Ironically, this is a game fit for the seas... 😏

As they stated this is naval game so wtf you guys talking sword fighting …. Graphics are not bad … and dude when you make TH-cam review of a game mention what YOU think and not what you think what everyone thinks.. give you own personal review not comparing with another games
As far as I'm aware nothing I have stated in this video isn't my own opinion. I personally believe that the gameplay loop will get boring very fast and the game has not benefited from it's extended development time. I mean all you have to do is look at 08:50 and 09:46 and you are willing to tell me that these graphics are worthy of a game coming out in 2024 and for $70?
He IS giving his opinion. It’s just an opinion that is shared by a vast amount of players. The truth is you just don’t like it. Which is fine, it doesn’t make his points any less valid. Sword fighting…contrary to ignorant beliefs…is an aspect of naval combat. Especially pirate raiding, because you have to BOARD THE SHIP YOU ARE RAIDING AND FIGHT IN CLOSE QUARTERS TO TAKE CONTROL OF THE SHIP. Surprise! You can’t steal spices, gold, silver, jewels, and other “treasure” off a ship IF YOU FUCKING SINK THE SHIP YOU ARE RAIDING! The objective isn’t to actually sink the ship you’re raiding. Its to commandeer the ship so you can asses what goods are valuable. Surprise! PIRATES USE SWORDS, MUSKETS, DAGGERS, and MUSKET PISTOLS.

It’s not demanding to expect a certain amount of value from a supposed AAAA game that is priced at $70. It’s not unreasonable to compare SnB to Black Flag either considering it’s a game inspired by Black Flag. Also…graphic fidelity doesn’t equal quality. Black Flag…a game that is 11 years old…looks better than SnB. Even more so if you add mods to Black Flag for graphic fidelity. Which again…doesn’t equal quality in regards to game play. A bad game can have great graphics, and a Great game can have bad graphics. Gameplay is king. If a game is good, people don’t care if it has the best graphics. If a game is bad, the graphic fidelity won’t make the gameplay better.
70$??!!! Until this video, based on the ads I saw, I thought this was a game for the App Store that you could get for about five bucks.
How about $17,99 a month + 100 games......

This. That would've been amazing. Also get tf away from AC. They need to make something new already.

This is Ubisoft’s “Anthem” moment basically.

This game is another forspoken or the day before (best games of the year are hell divers 2, Final Fantasy rebirth, Dragon Dogma 2 and Stelar blade)
the only good thing about this game is its getting a lot of youtube content out of it.
