just ordered a set for the front axle. the bit that goes onto the nut was too tight, the clevis pin would go through the axle, but not the other end of the frame slider nut. I didn't want to remove the washer to avoid gouging the forks - i fount a drill that fits in the holes of the slider nut and ovaled out the holes a bit more. clevis pin goes in now!
Making the hole just a little bigger can make this easier to get together. We use these on both of Max's race bikes and I have found it is easier to get the pin through if you make sure the slots in the axle nut are aligned closely with the hole through the axle. - Van
I absolutely cannot get the new cotter pin through on the rear axle. The axle isnt long enough with the cup on and you can clearly see the holes are halfway covered by the castle nut. I don't know how you got this on so easily.
Yes these will fit the 500 as well. We have the site updated for the Ninja 500 now, here is a link: www.sportbiketrackgear.com/parts/kawasaki/ninja-500/2024/
The unedited version of this video was a lot funnier, but thanks for doing all of these helpful walkthroughs. I will continue to buy everything I can from STG...awesome group of guys 👍
You caught Video Steve missing some shit for sure man! Trust me when I say there is a ton of funny stuff that rolls out of my mouth that hits the floor of the cutting room. Thank you for your support it is appreciated for sure! - Brian Van
Hi van, My front axle bolt will not come off.. I'm holding the otherside with a wrench. Any tips for removing it for the first time after alot of miles??
Hold the axle with a 17mm socket on a ratchet then use a 24mm socket on a long handled 1/2" ratchet. You want to try and break the axle nut loose and not try to turn the axle itself. - Van
@@sportbiketrackgearMy 2023 required me to remove the washer on the nut side. I could BARELY get that one through and was about two minutes from getting the drill out.
The shop I took it to said there was not enough clearance on the front brake side axle to install this and the washer on that side so they installed it on without the washer. They said the only way to make the washer fit with the sliders was to overtighten it and they didn't wanna do that. Is it safe even though they took out the front brake side axle washer??
I feel like you need to be rich to own a bike Because of all the safety gear that you need to buy it suck win have to have $8000 for every thing That's bike and everything I was really wow
With how the rear axle sliders are designed (covering the axle nut and bolt head) is it still possible to use the pitbull trailer restraint system? Lets say for a 15+ r1?
On both this bike and the R1 15-18 you would need to remove the Woodcraft axle sliders if you are hauling the bike using a Pit Bull Trailer Restraint. To be fair this is true for most of the rear axle slider designs on the market at this point. - Van
Sportbike Track Gear when you say remove the slider, your meaning just the slider puck right? Can the restraint adapters fit on the rear axle within the peices the pucks mount too?
For the 15-18 R1 you would need to remove the puck and the mount from the rear axle so you can slide the pins into the axle. Now on the Ninja 400 you would need to remove the rear axle to completely remove the Woodcraft Axle Sliders if you plan to use the Pit Bull Restraint on the 400. On most bikes I would recommend using the axle slider kit on the front only if you plan to haul the bike with a Pit Bull Trailer Restraint. In the rear you could install Woodcraft Swingarm Spool Sliders (oversized plastic spools) or a Driven Axle Block Slider Kit (still need to remove the plastic slider when you use the Pit Bull Restraint which is only 1 fastener). Hope this helps. - Brian Van
Sportbike Track Gear ah ok thanks. Then I guess a better option for me may be some spool sliders then because I like how the pit bull trailer restraint works. Also keep up the great work on the videos. Thanks to you I was able to pick what exhaust i want and other mods ill want to get. Your videos are very detailed and to the point which is what i like in videos like these. Ive compiled a list of like $3000 worth of stuff i plan to buy from stg lol. Thanks brian

Not a single downvote, shows how good these videos are! 😁
Thank you for watching! - Van

Do you have to install the Allen screw on the rear set?
That set screw holds the slider to the base which makes is easier to install and remove. We used it on our sliders. - Van

I don't have a torque wrench, just a normal one. Do you have to use a torque wrench or can I just tighten it really well?
You do not have to use a torque wrench if you do not have one. - Van

Removing the washer will not create an unsafe condition, you are good to go. - Van
Hi do you have these for 2016 er6n please
Sorry I do not see this model on the application list for the sliders. - Van
for the rear sliders right, can I just install it without the axle block?
You need to leave all the OEM axle blocks and such on the bike when you install this kit on the rear. - Van
