Thank you so much for these videos! I know this is regarded as a simple easy job but as a person new to motorcycles, I really don't want to mess up something so important. I'm really glad that you explain each step so carefully.
Hey, I have some MZS Levers. Ive had them for about 8K miles and no issues so far. Anyway, I just had a some new brake lines installed on my bike and my mechanic was saying that the brake lever was pushing the piston a little bit. Not to the point where it clicks but it kinda presses the piston. Ive ridden a 8K miles on it no issues at all. Have you had this happen at all with Max's Ninja 400 at all? If so is it bad? I put my bike up on the stand and moved the wheel to see if the brakes were engaged, but nothing. Just the basic sound of the pads hitting the rotors when moving your bike around or something. (I ride a 2023 Z400 BTW)
The Ninja 400 uses an axial master which we have not seen issues with locking up. That said I am not there to see this in person so if you feel the brakes are not dragging you need to be the one to make the call. Personally I would not install these levers on any bike. - Van
Just installed these on my 2021 400 and they look amazing! Am I suppose to be able to pull the clutch lever in to the point where they hit the grip? I can't remember if my oem ones did
Hey Brian, I was installing these levers, and I did a bonehead move and broke the clutch switch. Would you happen to know where I could get another? What could happen if I don't replace it? I can still shift into 1st, but the lever is really loose.
The clutch switch is not used to tension the clutch lever. You need to adjust the clutch cable to manage this. Make sure to set this so that it is not too tight and holds pressure on the clutch springs. This will cause the clutch to slip and fail. To replace the clutch switch you need to order this from a local dealer. Should be pretty cheap. - Van
Hey! Quick question about the Driven Grips. I've seen them installed on the ninja before and it seems they are too short to flush up well with the bar ends and the switch box. They always seem to show some of the white throttle plastic underneath. I was wondering how you got them on there so perfectly in a way where it looks natural instead of something that was slapped on after market. Hoping for a quick reply and thanks in advance, Brian!
I installed them the same way I would on any other bike, nothing special. That said you do need to make sure the grip is not all stretched out and distorted when you install it. Odds are what you saw was a mis-installed grip that was all stretched out. - Van
I NEEE HELP!!! i broke the little plastic gray piece sticking out behind my clutch i guess the clutch switch.. on my kwai 400. what is the switch for? do i need to order another switch housing? what is the part called to replace the broken switch?
Please shoot an email in to the returns department at returns@sportbiketrackgear.com or a call to 888.784.4327 and we will help you get this sorted out. I have installed these and did not experience this issue myself. - Van
wd40 will do, but maybe you need lube that frequently. just a simple general rule: lube oil for high speed/light load, lube grease for low speed/heavy load.
@@Jamanator9 just go to the nearest auto shop and ask them friendly, for anykind of grease, usually you can get a spoon-full free of charge. or you can buy some lithium or silicone spray grease, they're easy to apply and less likely to make a mess, like this →www.wd40.com/products/white-lithium-grease/
Hi Brian, Been looking for shorty levers for my kawasaki ninja 650. I almost got into crash when installing the cheap MZS short levers. My front brakes got malfunction while driving in the highway. Good thing i managed to pullover without falling over on my motorcycle. Had to put the stock back. Does any of you guys have any issue with hotbodies levers. Thanks in advance.

This shit is harder to do than it looks man. You need to be careful with the plunger on the clutch switch for sure when you reinstall the clutch lever. - Van

How much should the free clutch distance be adjusted to suit the Ninja400?
That is a rider preference kind of thing. Very important you make sure there is enough slack that the clutch is 100% engaged. - Van

You need a new clutch switch. Very common OEM part that should be pretty easy to source and cheap. - Van
I want these for my 2021 ninja 400 but you guys don't have a red and the black isn't in stock :(
We have several options for the Ninja 400. Check out the CRG levers if you want Red. - Van

If I don't have all purpose grease can I just use WD40 or something equivalent?

Do you need to buy a new mount as well? Or will it work with the stock one?
You install these levers on the OEM master and clutch perch. - Van
