This is another one of those side project videos I basically just made for Jen and I. It’s a condensed version of the first section of the Mississippi from this past summer. If you came across this and want to see more there is a playlist with daily videos of the entire source to sea th-cam.com/play/PLgw5mInRAREayIdcDWaE_IMoTNw3OoKeM.html
Nice , a "resume" of your first section of the summer padle ! For the people who see this for the first time : watch this as an appetiser , then go to the playlist to see the whole thing ! Oh, see just Matt posted his intro, sorry for saying the same .
I love your channel and especially the Mississippi River S2S. It's a goal of mine to paddle the S2S and watching your journey will help with planning my adventure. Thanks for sharing your adventures and I look forward to what you all have planned for the future.
You are both such fun fantastic humans. Thanks for making the recap videos, this one had me cracking up. I’m looking forward to the locks in the next one.
I am looking forward to the discovery trail vids. I just learned about the discovery trail about 4 years ago. So exciting! In my next life i will do the at , the pct and maybe the discovery trail.
I’m currently jumping back and forth between really looking forward to the ADT and being anxious considering my experiences walking through the Keys. It should be a real adventure which pushes me though :)
This is one of the coolest paddles I've ever followed. The Suwannee River trip was awesome as well. If you're ever in Florida and need a trail Angel let me know!
Thanks! We loved the Suwannee and intend to go back and do it again at some point. Florida Trail too but that will require Jen to have some sort of work interruption unfortunatly
I'm not sure what I was expecting the uppermost reaches of the Mississippi River to be like, but a sea of grass full of mosquitoes and repeatedly obstructed by beaver dams was not it.
We got rid of almost everything, live out of campgrounds when not in trail, have health insurance through Jen’s teacher job, and supplement through odd jobs and TH-cam

Just as much fun to watch the second time. I still stand in awe of your perseverance and courage in the face of adversity. Well done both of you.

@@FirstChurchofTheMasochistHikes I totally get it. My wife is an educator as well.
Well, this is awesome!✌️
Another banger vid
What is the make of your canoe? Looks very light
It was a Quetico ‘17. Made out of Kevlar and only weighed about 40 lbs
I hope you at least stoped in Bemidji to see Paul and babe the blue ox we are the first city on the Mississippi
We did a food resupply there but then moved on. With a canoe full of gear sightseeing becomes difficult and a bit risky.
Now for an extra challenge, fo it again, but in the other direction.
I'm not sure what I was expecting the uppermost reaches of the Mississippi River to be like, but a sea of grass full of mosquitoes and repeatedly obstructed by beaver dams was not it.
It is kind of a shocking contrast to thinks down past New Orleans
Those beavers have no idea they a daming such an important river.
“You fools! You’re going to make Baton Rouge run dry!”
Minnesota in June = Mosquitos and ticks
How can y’all afford to do these cross country hikes and stuff? Do y’all not have like, jobs and bills to pay?
