They started filming holmes and Watson over two years ago. And it's just coming out now. Production of the film was a trainwreck. They tried to sell the movie to Netflix and even they turned them down. So everyone involved knew it wasn't going to be good

There is a scene where it seems they did and its f-in hilarious.
I was thinking the exact same thing at that point. It wouldve been an unexpected turn to the movie that would make it better. Also if they dropped the accents half way through the movie almost to acknowledge the joke of the bad movie up until that point.

Peter Heiskell that movie works because Marl Wahlberg and Will Ferrel’s characters’ interaction work really well because they’re such polar opposites. In this movie they’re two goofballs.

If you just reskinned the other guys to make it Sherlock and Watson while changing the characters a bit it would have been much better.. to try and make Watson a goofball in a Sherlock movie is just so dumb. He clearly should play the straight man in a Sherlock comedy. I don’t see how that’s not obvious.
I've always found that movie to be overrated as fuck, watched it 3 times because I was trying to see if I had missed anything, but no. Really couldn't get into it. Mostly due to Will Ferrell being an unfunny cunt most of the time.
The only funny part of the movie is when you see Will has a smoking hot wife that a guy like him should never ever be with, and Whalbergs reaction to it.
And also Anchorman, Anchorman 2, and Talladega Nights.
The lighting makes all 3 peeps look like their livers are failing.

My wife was willing to leave, but I stayed, for the very reason BB points out: to punish myself for wasting my hard earned dollars.

The movie reviews have become a pretty big part of the channel. And I'm okay with that. I actually like this content. They're far from professional opinions, but that's kinda what I like. The videos feel like causal banter between friends to some beers. Haha I guess I like how relatable it is.
I love that they tend to have completely different opinions than the other video review people I follow. It gives me a chance to find out about movies that might not be great for professional movie reviewers but is fun and worth seeing for those of us just looking for a few hours of brainless entertainment.

Joe, being a fan of RedLetterMedia, they're trying to copy that kind of format they're doing which is an in-depth, casual, movie review, and I am fine with that. Even though they aren't as professional as Mike and Jay, they still do a great job, and this is (and Critikal) my audience's point of view review, and they're doing a great job of this. I honestly would want more these movie reviews.
But oh boy have they been very wrong in the past.

The moment they did the “selfie joke,” I kind of knew this film would be a flop.
People who didn't like this movie probably also didn't like Step Brothers. Ferrell and Reilly have an amazing comic chemistry and it was here in this movie. Granted, it's a bit like seeing a couple of old goofy friends do some comedy routines so I guess if you never liked them in their previous stuff you won't like this one either. My wife and I are fans and we laughed our asses off.

I just got back from that movie and I honestly feel asleep through most of the movie, not because I was tired but because I was bored. I didn’t want to leave because I paid money for it so basically this was a $15 dollar nap.

This movie has given me an epiphany. I’ve finally realized how cringeworthy Will Ferrell is besides some SNL skits. I think Ferrell can write some silly comedy, and Reilly is actually talented.
I liked the line when Holmes hit the glass and the bees came out and he said Watson start panicking
