@@lindafayfriday7238, I assure you, they're absolutely WONDERFUL ❤!! And I've seen many recipes on making biscuits on YT, in the past. This one takes the cake, takes a grand bow, and a Standing Ovation!! 😂😂😂❤❤❤ Lol.
I love the way you cook Ken. My father taught me how to cook and watching your videos is like watching my father. We did a lot of camping because it was the only thing we could afford to do. Cooking on a camp fire was the only way we knew how to cook things. I also grew up with a fish pole in my hand. 😊 ❤️
My parents took us camping also because it was the only thing they could afford. Eight kids on a mechanics wages and we had a blast. Every summer, every chance we got, we were at the lake. Those are some of my fondest memories.
Camping and fishing was what we could afford to do. Getting cots was really the Ritz of 🎪 camping. Got my own fishing pole and reel for my sixth Christmas gift from Grandpa. Thought I hit the big time then. Caught a LOT of fish with it too.
My sister and i thought "vacation" actually meant when everybody went on their annual fishing trip, either camping or to a little rental cabin on the lake $5 a night with rowboat!
When my children were small, we would go to the lake as soon as they got up (early!)& I'd make this on a BBQ grill while we had the entire beach to ourselves! Breakfast on the beach was fun. Nothing like bacon, eggs, & biscuits on the sand. Thanks for bringing back a neat memory
I love that you actually pointed out how gentle you have to be with biscuit dough. If you're too rough with it, you have crunchy, chewy lumps. Not fun. Also you are using the cutter in the correct way to get extra height. If you twist the cutter it seals the edge and you get less rise. This is awesome!! Lol I don't end up with 12 biscuits when I can only eat 2🤣
Thank you so much for this video! Although I love making biscuits, they don't always rise up quite enough to suit me. After I watched the folding method you use here, I had to give it a try. Now, I still used my traditional old Cat-head Biscuit recipe and I baked them in the oven but this time the difference was the way I handled the dough--those biscuits they rose up three times higher than the last time I used the same recipe! The best ever. From now on, I'm folding the dough the Ken Click way. 😃
A lot of bread type items if you over mix or over kneed them it can make them tough and not rise correctly. Just like cake recipes when it says fold in your egg whites, it means barely mix them in.
❤❤❤ WOW!! WAOOW!! That's exactly how I went when I bit into my first biscuit!! I absolutely love it! I was by my lonesome at home, (as is the case since my husband's passing late 2023. And while watching this man making I got very hungry indeed, so I dropped my phone, and went to my kitchen and whipped up a batch!! And, let me tell you this, ❤ it was LOVE AT FIRST BITE!! 😂😂❤❤❤ Man, 4get all the haters and Naysayers, yes. It may be another 50 years, or more, of them doing something that they're good at, yet fooling themselves into believing that no one else can create something just as good or better than they have!!! Well done bro! ❤❤❤ A dozen thumbs up from me! Lol. 😂😂😅😅😊😊❤❤❤ And,, to the Naysayers, who seemingly have nothing better to do, let me tell you this, a recipe, any recipe, of doing anything, is simply someone's idea brought into fruition, and it can be tweaked, changed, and rearranged to suit anyone else, to their likeness and satisfaction!! TO EACH HIS OWN! ❤ BLESS UP. ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Great stuff buddy! My grandmother used to make the same thing in a cast iron pan pre-warmed on the eye, dough in, but baked till first sign of browning, taken out, then covered. OH, and the butter honey,,, almost the same... She used sorghum syrup and butter.... I can still smell the biscuits and the sweet buttered sorghum served with crisp bacon.... THANKS FOR THE MEMORY !
Thank you. I just found you for this first time. I am mostly alone now with limited mobility. I love cooking from scratch. My dream house would have a second fireplace with a raised hearth in the kitchen. I love cooking and baking in my cast iron pots. One of the last times I camped with my nephew and 2 grand children we baked apple pie in my Dutch oven. We loved having a limitless menu. I can't wait to see what else you do.😊
My grandmother was a southern cook. Her biscuits were addictive. And honey butter was a standard. I raised my kids with the same. I was surprised, when eating out with local groups, how many had never heard of honey butter. Maybe it was a geographic thing. But it was their loss.
I've been making biscuits for 40 years and I just learned something new. This is the perfect recipe now that I'm older with just my son and I and I don't have to make a big batch. Going to give this a try.

During the quarantine phase, I actually started my attempt on baking. 😂 it was a drama series for sure. But now I can confidently say I can bake breads. Just bread, no cake, no cookies, and no biscuits. 😂😂😂😂 I will have to try your recipe. ❤❤❤❤❤
Dear Ken, these biscuits look great! Thank you for sharing this easy and quick recipe with us! I will try them today with a cup of tea and with the honeybutter! I think my family would enjoy it! Greetings from Germany 🙋🏼
Maybe it's that 'makes me smile' sweet Southern accent, sir...I barely even cook but could listen to ur voice and gently cheerful voice for a LONG time. THX!
I'll have to give these a try. They look delicious. My mother makes delicious pan fried "biscuits" mixing together self rising flour, milk, and enough bacon grease to give them an awesome flavor. Just mix it up, a little thicker than pancake batter, and fry. They are especially delicious with a supper meal.
Ken, you’re a delight to listen to and I really enjoy how you take your time to show us the technique in an easy to understand way. I’m definitely trying this recipe soon. Thank you!
my great-grandma used to make these exactly like that and she used to use a cast iron skillet. boy, they were good!!! thankyou for this recipe will make them tomorrow in the a.m.
Things are alright in my world, Ken. Thanks for asking. I really appreciate all of your videos. I come from a different culture and I find your approach very refreshing. We have a different definition of "biscuits" in my country. Your version is something new.
Blessings to you & family for 2023. I always enjoy your cooking/baking videos & shared them with my Big sister, who is the cook of the family-learned all my late mom's South Carolina cooking recipes & tips. She loves the biscuit recipes & sharing this one with her too. Keep them coming & stay blessed.
My grandmother from OK made pie on top of the stove in an iron skillet. She was born in 1889. Wonderful cook. I still make total Thanksgiving dinner with dressing from homemade biscuits and homemade cornbread. Like your technique. Thank you.
Every once in a while I'll try my hand at DIY biscuits and this morning, after watching this video, was one of those times. Best homemade biscuits I ever made. I took care this time to be "gentle" with them, plus all the folding... well, something came out right this time. Other than I think they are more suited to biscuits for one! ;) Thanks for your videos.
I am a newlywed wife, I’ve never really cooked before but I am excited to learn and can’t wait to try making these biscuits for my husband 🙂. Also you remind me a lot of Bob Ross and Mr. Rodgers. Your positivity and friendliness can really brighten up a day (as apposed to the loud, in your face, over the top approach that seemingly most youtubers take lol)
You taught me something me today also folding when your making biscuits. Never knew to fold when you are making biscuits and I have been cooking for years and I mean a long, long time. Thanks so much.
Wow. I cannot wait to try these at breakfast tomorrow morning. Had no idea this would be so simple. My wife and I love biscuits, at any meal, not just breakfast. It seems to me, though, that a nice layer of bacon grease would send these simple biscuits over the moon. So I will make mine in the same skillet as the bacon. Even if it doesn't work, they'll be good biscuits. Thanks a million!
Ken you’re one of my favorite cooks! Your recipes represent the true home cook using simple recipes with simple ingredients that most of us already have in our cupboards. Thank You..❤
Brought back fond memories of my MamMaw making biscuits when I was young in North Carolina. She used buttermilk and Crisco. As many times as I watched her make them , I could never get the recipe right because she didn’t measure the ingredients out. We added molasses and butter or Karo and butter to our biscuits. I can’t wait to try your pan biscuit recipe.😀

I enjoy your recipes, but I'm also impressed with your gentle demeanor and your soft voice that does not droan on and on. You get right to the point in such a kind way. Many Blessings for a future of helping folks to eat good, healthy food. Thank you.
Thank you for the kind words! I appreciate it!
This is fantastic! Since we’re empty-nesters now, this is perfect for just the two of us 😊
Enjoy! 🙂
I will have to try your recipe for our office potluck.. we’re having a breakfast bar, and I chose to make fresh biscuits and country gravy with turkey sausage. Little Asian lady making an all American home staple. Proud asian American here. ❤❤❤❤ thank you Mr. Ken for charging your master skills. 🫶🏽🙌🏽🙌🏽🙌🏽🙌🏽
Thanks for watching and commenting!
This has to be just the sweetest biscuit making video on TH-cam. God bless you and I hope you’re having a wonderful weekend. 🥰
Thank you! You too!
Your biscuit recipes are the best ever! You have a great teaching style and calm voice as you are demonstrating the biscuit making process. I have tried several of your biscuit recipes! They turn out great every time for me. Thanks for sharing! I discovered your channel during the pandemic and your recipes were a life saver in the kitchen. Please continue to share…
Thank you so much! I appreciate your kind words!
Wish I had one of your biscuit now I will try this look so good thank you 💖💖💖🥰
Thanks
Where is your receipt.
Wonderful memories!
Thought I hit the big time
then.
Thanks for watching and commenting!
Thank you so much for all the recipes. Especially those for those of us that don't have a big household!
You are very welcome!
I agree! This is perfect for my husband and I.
I love biscuits but no one else in my family cares for them. Now I can make my own. Thank you.
I'm pleased to be helpful. Enjoy! 🙂
Thanks for watching! You are exactly right! 🙂
Never seen anyone make biscuits quite like this. What a game changer! Thanks for sharing, Mr. Ken!
You are very welcome! 🙂
I tried these yesterday, and they were a hit! These will be my go to biscuits for the summertime, when I hate using my oven. Thanks so much.
✅
Thank you so much for this video! Although I love making biscuits, they don't always rise up quite enough to suit me. After I watched the folding method you use here, I had to give it a try. Now, I still used my traditional old Cat-head Biscuit recipe and I baked them in the oven but this time the difference was the way I handled the dough--those biscuits they rose up three times higher than the last time I used the same recipe! The best ever. From now on, I'm folding the dough the Ken Click way. 😃
I'm glad to be of help! ✅
Thank you Ken for teaching us old gals how to make great biscuits♥️
❤ BLESS UP. ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Thank you for the kind words. I appreciate you commenting and sharing your first hand experience and enjoyment of these biscuits!
My grandmother lived in the country on a dirt road. On a huge farm. She made these. Delicious
Thanks for watching!
Really a great recipe for single people or people like me that doesn't eat a lot. Easy recipe
Thank you so much 🙂
Great stuff buddy! THANKS FOR THE MEMORY
!
Great memories! Thanks for sharing...🙂
I'm so glad someone else mentioned sorghum! It's fantastic.
I can't wait to see what else you do.😊
Thanks for watching and commenting!
I love that you take your time to teach us
Thank you for explaining everything to someone who never has done cooking before
It's my pleasure. 🙂
I've always told people ; it's no different from cooking over a camp fire ! 🔥 Great job ! No excuse for a fluffy, little biscuit for 1 ❣️🥰 Thank you 😊
Thanks for watching and commenting!
I love this! As a guy who mass produces baked goods, I always appreciate the time and care put into a single serving
Thanks for your kind words! I appreciate them.
Mass producing kills flavor and quality
@@erossinema8797 it does, but I would never have the time to mix and bake individual items at my bakery... I do stuff like this at home though
My grandmother was a southern cook. Her biscuits were addictive. And honey butter was a standard. I raised my kids with the same. I was surprised, when eating out with local groups, how many had never heard of honey butter. Maybe it was a geographic thing. But it was their loss.
✅🙂
Yup, us northerners don't know how to live... Pumpkin pie instead of sweet potatoes pie!!! Smh...
We have honey butter in California.
I've been making biscuits for 40 years and I just learned something new. This is the perfect recipe now that I'm older with just my son and I and I don't have to make a big batch. Going to give this a try.
Wonderful! Thanks for watching and commenting!
Wow, these biscuits look so easy to make and are sure to be tasty. I can hardly wait to get into my kitchen this afternoon to make some of these biscuits. Thank you for taking the time and effort to share these recipes. I just subscribed and look forward to trying out more of your recipes. Ken, you are so easy going and so polite !
Welcome to the channel! Enjoy the biscuits! 🙂
Hi! New subbie here! Oh my goodness! I currently do not have a working oven, and I'm used to making biscuits for my family four to five times a week, decades. I NEVER thought to do this and help them steam! Very thankful you made this video and I enjoy the calm vibe and ease of your video. I enjoyed this a lot. Blessings from NC
Thanks for subbing! Welcome to the channel!
Thank you and wish there was more people like you in the world ❤
Thank you!
This is the same way our Church Pastor taught us how to make Bannock while on summer camp outs!
Only our recipes were a bit different 😋
There are many ways to make great biscuits. I have backpacking videos showing how I make biscuits over a fire with a mess kit.
During the quarantine phase, I actually started my attempt on baking. 😂 it was a drama series for sure. But now I can confidently say I can bake breads. Just bread, no cake, no cookies, and no biscuits. 😂😂😂😂 I will have to try your recipe. ❤❤❤❤❤
✅🙂
Dear Ken, these biscuits look great! Thank you for sharing this easy and quick recipe with us! I will try them today with a cup of tea and with the honeybutter! I think my family would enjoy it! Greetings from Germany 🙋🏼
Thanks for watching and commenting from Germany!
I just made these - they are absolutely delicious! Good thing I did not double the recipe otherwise my husband and I would have eaten all! Thank you.
Glad you like them!
Maybe it's that 'makes me smile' sweet Southern accent, sir...I barely even cook but could listen to ur voice and gently cheerful voice for a LONG time. THX!
Thanks for watching and commenting! 🙂
Sounds good!
Ken, you’re a delight to listen to and I really enjoy how you take your time to show us the technique in an easy to understand way. I’m definitely trying this recipe soon. Thank you!
Thank you for your kind words! I appreciate it. 🙂
Yes, I mirror your thoughts exactly! Thank you Ken - will be making these STAT!
Great idea making stovetop biscuits. I don’t have an oven right now so this is great for me ! This method sort of reminds me of Asian steam buns.
✅ 🙂
my great-grandma used to make these exactly like that and she used to use a cast iron skillet. boy, they were good!!! thankyou for this recipe will make them tomorrow in the a.m.
Great memories! Enjoy! 🙂
Things are alright in my world, Ken. Thanks for asking. I really appreciate all of your videos. I come from a different culture and I find your approach very refreshing. We have a different definition of "biscuits" in my country. Your version is something new.
Yes, these are American biscuits. But no matter what they are called, they are good!
Thank you for sharing this technique! It's brilliant when I don't want to heat up the house in June in AZ!
You are so welcome!
Thank you! Thanks for sharing my videos with your sister. Happy New Year!
My grandmother from OK made pie on top of the stove in an iron skillet. She was born in 1889. Wonderful cook. I still make total Thanksgiving dinner with dressing from homemade biscuits and homemade cornbread. Like your technique. Thank you.
Thanks for watching and commenting!
Every once in a while I'll try my hand at DIY biscuits and this morning, after watching this video, was one of those times.
Best homemade biscuits I ever made. I took care this time to be "gentle" with them, plus all the folding... well, something came out right this time. Other than I think they are more suited to biscuits for one! ;)
Thanks for your videos.
That's great to hear! Nothing like a good, homemade, biscuit!
Thanks for your kind words! Check out my TH-cam channel for many easy to make dishes ► youtube.com/@KenClick
Great recipe! In Australia we call these scones and I will definitely try cooking them on the stove top tomorrow! Thanks Ken.
Enjoy!
And biscuits are cookies?
@@waterandafter - yes Aussies call cookies biscuits or bikkies. 🫓🫓🫓
I never understood the difference between a southern American biscuit and a scone
@@anderander5662 www.allrecipes.com/article/scone-vs-biscuit/
You taught me something me today also folding when your making biscuits. Never knew to fold when you are making biscuits and I have been cooking for years and I mean a long, long time. Thanks so much.
I🎉
You are so welcome! 🙂
Sounds great! Enjoy!
Ken you’re one of my favorite cooks! Your recipes represent the true home cook using simple recipes with simple ingredients that most of us already have in our cupboards. Thank You..❤
Thanks so much! I'm very pleased that you like my videos.
YES. Perfect stovetop baked biscuits. 👍
Thanks!
This is the best instructions for biscuits i have ever viewed. Thank you.😊
Thanks for the kind words! 🙂

Enjoy!
born and raised in the US, now living in Germany, cravings!!! now these look like the real thing!! gotta make them asap! thank you!
Hope you enjoy them as much as I do! 🙂
PERFECT! Empty nest here and I Love fresh biscuits. With just two in the house though it always feels so wasteful PLUS it makes a heck of a mess.
I LOVE THIS RECIPIE! Super flakey and moist, perfect for two serving size and minimal mess! PERFECT! Did I mention it was perfect?
Thank you! Way more fresh biscuits are in our future!
Glad you like them! Thanks for commenting! ✅🙂
I love ❤️ how simple and easy this recipe looks. I like the butter and honey combo, but I mostly like sorghum and butter. It’s also great on hot cornbread. Thank you for sharing your recipe with us! 🌻🙋🏻♀️💜
My pleasure! Thanks for watching!
I love your biscuits and your teaching style. I've made them following each step and they came out delicious. Thank you for sharing and creating such simple tutorials for beginners and anyone who is interested in your recipes.

Wow! You’re a man of every woman’s dreams!!!! Great recipe too!
Thanks for your kind words. 🙂
I'm a southern gal who missed the biscuit gene. I had an aunt who tried her dead level best to teach me to make biscuits. I can't even make an edible Bisquick biscuit. The way you explain textures has given me hope that I might be able to make biscuits! Thank you so much 💚
You can make these!
I know what you mean. My biscuits turn out like fat crackers. 😄
It’s all in the stirring
How much
How vigorous
Etc

@8:27, the two biscuits closest to the camera have smiley faces, they must like honey, too. 🙂
I agree! 🙂
Awesome video Ken!!!! I remember wood stove top biscuits in a cast iron skillet as a very young child. Can’t wait to give it a try. 👍🏾👍🏾
Hope you like them!
I loved his calming voice. Been making biscuits for years, I’m 74, and I learned something new. Thanks for sharing !

Thank you, I have a skillet exactly like the one you used. I do make skillet biscuits and cornbread to, so good 👍 😋.
Sounds great!
I think I'll give that a try. Biscuits really did look pretty...and I bet they tasted just ad good as they looked. Greetings from North Mississippi.
Thanks for watching in North Mississippi!
A couple years back you did a video making biscuits for two- I still use your recipe and I remember you using the handle of the spoon to move the dough around the bowl - I do the same way. Thank you for your wonderful videos 😊 I call the tiny biscuit a pup treat- my pup loves them! These look delicious.

Love this! You got it right on with your recipe and techniques. My packing just got lighter. Thank you!
You are so welcome!
What a lovely video Ken 😊 your instructions were very clear. I never thought of using my stove to make biscuits. Normally use the oven. I always use a skillet to make naan bread, chapatti, cornmeal bread - guess it’s the same dry stove method. I will definitely give your recipe a try 🙏✅❤
✅🙂
Wow who knew lol you always make things look so easy and I appreciate your encouragement that we can do this too. I think I can do this. Thank you. I like honey butter 😊
You can do it! 🙂
Well ken you have did it again with your for two recipe keep them coming can I use buttermilk if I don’t have regular milk?🎉😊
