Just picked up the 34" version not long ago. I love this TV so much. I'm using it for all HDMI capable consoles and my PC. Cyberpunk with the Path Tracing feature looks absolutely stunning. I run it at 720P since GPUs don't really support interlacing anymore and it's better than my monitors on latency and lag. The motion clarity CRT tech provides is still near unbeatable, though OLEDs are getting close.
BRO IF YOU STILL GOT THAT CRT KEEP IT. SECOND DONT USE 1080i USE 720p it actually looks better and you wont tell its not 1080 that crt is one of the best ever made. second to only the 310, i have the 32 inch one
720p does have a more vibrant image, but 1080i is the tvs native resolution which gives it the lowest latency making it better for gaming. You’re right though if he still owns it he should hold onto it for as long as he can
If i recall correctly the Pioneer kuro plasma series have 0,1 input lag in gaming mode. CRT 60hz can play awesome lightgun games that you cant on the Plasma’s
@@doomisforu that's what I mean. I personally don't see the point of going all the way up to 1080p for a console that's only capable of being HD-ready.

The reason the gameboy interface probably lags is because you're using the action replay method to load it whereas if you were using a gcloader pnp or oem gameboy disc it would probably not lag.
I like the comparison you're making but I would suggest covering up your window with a cover or some cloth to really let us see the difference between the two screesn. Also (and I know because of the weight of the crt) that placing them side by side would've been better. Just some suggestions.
Most CRTs especially those from the 1940s to 1990s are not capable for HDMI as it was unheard of in its time as most old CRTs weren't even colour until the 1970s or 1980s depending which country had colour TVs first. +SuperTN A Plasma do not use as much power as a CRT that is outright bullshit on your part, 21 inch CRT usually use around 100W while a Plasma of 40 inch uses about 150W or 120W on power saving mode, while the earlier models of Plasma used upwards of 200W. Now a CRT of 40 inch uses TREMENDOUS amount of power and you could feel the voltages by just having your hand half a metre away from the screen, you could feel all that power in your body if you sat close to it, its massive. Plasma are more economical than CRT's, LED and OLED are vastly more power efficient however.

Nothing beats a CRT for console gaming at 30 or 60fps.
