It's good that you watched WandaVision first. That's most important for this. WandaVision, incidentally, is most definitely in my top 5 MCU stuff and it's the only non-movie there. It's just so absolutely brilliantly and magnificently done it's incredible.
The Wanda that Xavier encounters in her mind is Earth 838 Wanda, the Wanda who's body was being used by our Wanda. The Darkhold DID corrupt Wanda, but the Darkhold is not a living being. Our Wanda was mentally herself, but the Darkhold had warped her mind in such a way to make her think the things she thought, and believe that she had to do the things she did. As for the third eye, although every version of the Darkhold was destroyed, this does not undo the affect that using the Darkhold had on Strange.
The editing insert after you spectacularly failed to react to the Professor X reveal saved it🤣 Yes, please react to the X-Men movies. And to Star Trek too😁 Sir Patrick is a legend.
Wanda is still powerful without the Darkhold. The Darkhold only gives her knowledge on how to utilize different spells. Wanda's overall raw power even without the Darkhold is still very S tier.
You might remember from the first movie that Strange has an eidetic/“photographic” memory (which he used to quickly study and retain all the books he got from Wong’s library). So since he flipped through the Darkhold, all the pages he looked at still exist in his mind.
Writer and producer of MoM have already stated multiple times, it actually had nothing to do with the Darkhold itself, the third eye was because he possessed a dead body (that was forbidden) and the eye was specifically a result of that corruption NOT the Darkhold they also specifically stated that Strange does remember the spell for Dreamwalking BUT however can’t use it anymore because the Books were (conduits of sorts) but are all gone by Wanda at the end so it’s essentially useless information to him 🤷♂️
@@JinxMadness How did Sinister Strange get his then? It is odd that he was the only one to get a third eye from the Darkhold, where as Agatha and 838 Strange had the black fingertips. Wanda had them also, but it's implied throughout the movie the book corrupted her completely, we get a glimpse of her true form twice , first when she kills Xavier. We get a glimpse of it again when she telports for the jump scare. He couldn't have gotten it the same way 616 did, because we know he would dreamwalk into his variations to force them to kill themselves trying to find a happy ending with Christine.
I think Xavier was saying that as a means to gently chastise Mordo for assuming 616 Strange was identical in every way to 838 Strange. More of a "Just because OUR Strange gave in to the temptation of the Darkholds power, doesn't mean EVERY Strange will."
The Professor X intro reached back before the X-Men movies and grabbed ahold of my childhood memories by bringing him out in the yellow chair and playing the theme from the 1992 cartoon. Good times.
Her name isn't meant to be "subliminal" if anything it's pretty overt. Her character was originally called Miss America because her name is America, which is sometimes a given name in South American culture (she's Latino). And obviously at that point it only makes sense to adopt the stars and stripes look like other heroes have.

One thing I gotta say, I get so fucking tired of people reacting to characters that are clearly written to be insane or unhinged from reason and throw judgemental shit at them AS IF they were actually sane. Of course she's a fucking monster, but in her own unhinged mind SHE doesn't see that due to the darkhold's influence over her. You can dislike that story plot point if you like, but don't sit there and react to her like she should be perfectly sane when she clearly isn't. There's a difference between someone who knows precisely what they are doing and don't care like Joker from Dark Knight and someone who has become mentally unhinged so they aren't seeing everything clearly like Wanda in this movie.

The Third Eye is typical Dr Strange in the comics. It is not part of the DarkHold but they are linking it in the MCU. Once you look into the DarkHold the evil has a part of you. That is more like the comic Dr Strange there are parts of the darker arts that he does know and has part of him. Which means sooner or later he will come to his end because of them. There are elements of the comics they seem to be incorporating now like the DarkHold, the Third Eye and the fact that Christine is not the love of his life but she is coming. Clea is who you saw in the end who is the Sorceress Supreme of the Dark Dimension. Strange's equal in every way.

@@JinxMadness You know Waldron said it might be because he used the Darkhold to possess his body. He also went on to talk about Mordos warning of the bill coming due. He is not my favorite screen writer but he tries to keep things related in his stories. In the comics the third eye was an aspect of good with the eye of Agamotto but they are just bringing it up different in the MCU. Maybe his experience with the Darkhold is what finally awakens it in him. However they try to explain it in universe is still open but from the interviews it is obvious it's not really settled but it has something to do with all the experience of Strange.

Despite the destruction of the Darkhold those who used it are still corrupted by it. Also, I don't think it was truly destroyed. The elder being Cython still exists, and he wrote the Darkhold. Also, there is one living being (Dr. Strange) who has seen its pages, so they exist in his mind and the good doctor has a photographic memory.
The producer and writer have already stated Strange no longer remembers the information in the book the moment Wanda destroyed it! The third eye was a result of possessing a dead body and not the Darkhold itself, this is confirmed by the fact they also stated the Sinister Strange didn’t have the eye because of the Book itself but because he kept dreamwalking into variants of himself and they ended up dead as well remember he was killing him self! Wanda didnt behave that way because she wanted to, it was the darkhold corruption making her act this way, as you can see in the end of the movie she says "i would never hurt anyone, im not a monster" thats what she truly wanted, and thats when the corruption got broken when she saw her kids afraid of her, something that people think is that Darkhold made wanda this strong, but its totally wrong, the dark hold is actually a extention of scarlet witch powers, but what it did was give her knowledge about her powers and her origin, she did not get weak when the darkhold got destroyed, she only lost the knowledge that the book gave her.

I still say that if they had made as much of a big deal about Vision's funeral as they did about Stark's then Wanda could have processed her grief more easily without so much collateral damage and without Wanda getting corrupted by the Darkhold. Plus concentrating on teaching America how to use her powers sooner would have given time to get to the timeline where the Wanda that has kids could convince the Scarlet Witch how terrible it was to try to replace her and that would make her a monster that would save a lot of the people she killed before that happened
That's all well and good but by the end of Endgame at least nobody knew where Vision's body was. As far as we can tell from what they've released Wanda went straight from that funeral to go find his body, and then we get Wandavision. There's really not much time in there for the Avengers, most of whom are doing their own post-snap recovery to have given a funeral, assuming Wanda would even tell them about finding the body. On the teaching America thing though, when would they have had time? They meet her and Wanda is after them immediately. Strange had literally no time to train America. And under the influence of the Darkhold, I don't see Wanda listening to reason without the boys shocking her back to a bit of sense by them being afraid of her and defending their mother.
I'd really hoped that the movie would have ended with Wanda using her magic to help America find her mothers as America helped her find a universe where she could be with her boys and vis.
I would've really liked that too, but I think Wanda thought at that moment that America would never forgive her ( bc let's be honest why would she? Even though I think she kinda did when she saw Wanda crying and repenting). Maybe in the future if Wanda is in her redemption arc, she might actually apologize to her and help her find her moms.
also, remember vision memories and emotions in the new vision body....it can do the same thing as the original vision body, phasing, making him self hard as jade/diamonds or intangible. Vision could easily just saved Wanda before any of the rocks hurt her, which we will see in another flashback on why she is still alive in another tv show or movie
Wanda/Scarlett Witch was a powerful & terrifying villain in this, & while it did 'guide' her down the path of evil, I like to think the Darkhold prayed on her pain & loss, her vulnerability at the time in WandaVision & really didn't have much corrupting to do! She'd lost her parents, her brother & just when she was finally feeling happy, she lost Vision- her one true love. Grief pushed her into a fantasy world where everything was fine- but unlike normal grieving people, she actually had the power to make it real - so she believed it was & then when she faced the truth, she lost her children ... & Vision all over again! I think pain, loss & grief corrupted her as much, if not more than the Darkhold! She's a 'tragic villian' - actually felt really sorry for her in this!
One thing I noticed strange did mess up right when Wanda started to think about what strange said about other Wanda and kids or she would have been talked down but movie must happen so I went with it

in the first movie, the ancient one? said that they draw power from the Dark Dimension (that place the woman opened a portal to in the post credit scene) and that's where they get the power to make all their glowing mandala shields made of hexagons and circles
Sweetie! I've just done some reserch on your question as to why strange now has a third eye as i was just as curious as you! It turns out that his third eye is the physical manifestation of the eye of agamotto! It gives him the power of sensing if someone is being deceptive and also the abilities to seek out illusions and destroy and nullify those illusions! So loki would get his magical ass whupped by strange lol
it only amplifies the darkness that is already in the person it is like alcohol & drugs. The person might have been high but still guilty of the crimes he/she committed under the influence
@@DarthKay093 We all have darkness. The Darkhold just makes it hard to not indulge in them. Wanda needed therapy for all she has been though, and the Darkhold fell into her hands at her lowest time. Sorry, but I tend to be sympathetic in this. Now I do feel she needs to answer for what she does, but we need to add sympathy and understanding.
1) She enslaved and puppeteered people in Westview before she got the darkhold 2) She tortured wizards after darkhold book was destroyed 3) She didn't kill Dr Strange as she kills everyone else when she first met him. If she was truly corrupted, she would. 4) Corruption didn't stop her from destroying the temple. 5) Dr Strange using the darkhold didn't become evil. She did all of this on her own will.

She can punch through a planet but can't survive a statue falling on her. And I loved your sarcastic commentary of the illuminatis supers. That made me so upset. They made all those character look weak. Especially reed Richards. The reason for captain marvel to die from that statue was actually said to be because wanda drained her powers in the middle of their clash, as you can see her mask getting desintegrated and wanda's red magic overpowering her cosmic energy, wanda took off captains marvel powers thats why she got crushed by the statue

Duaffy - While the original temple, and subsequently all the Darkhold books in the Multiverse have been destroyed... not ALL the Darkholds are gone. Remember, Dr. Strange has a photographic memory, and he memorized the entire book in his final battle with Wanda. So for all intents and purposes, Dr. Strange IS a Darkhold. As for his getting a 3rd eye... if you remember using the Dreamwalker spell corrupts the soul. So even if the books are gone, his soul was corrupted by using it as he did.

Your editor doesn't like Professor Reed Richards much. You should know by Reed always telegraphs his threats. That is how he gets egomaniacs like Doctor Doom and the other FF villains to start monologuing, giving away their master plans. Unfortunately for his children, Wanda was not in a talking mood.
Oh also, people tends to misunderstand what happened in the last scene of the darkhold being destroyed, wundagore was not the cause of that but wanda was, she destroyed the original darkhold from her universe wich is Wundagore, and then casted a spell in the multiverse to end all the darkholds, most people dont know but the Scarlet Witch is a nexus being, she can interact and affect entire universes with her powers, as she did in comics once wich almost caused the destruction of the entire multiverse.
She didn't destroy the multiverse in comics. She just erased the powers of mutants across the multiverse and it was implied that maybe in the omniverse as well. Her chaos wave was powerful but it didn't destroy the multiverse at all.

Wanda isn't weak without the Darkhold at all lol. Even before learning the true potential of her powers, she was top 4 most powerful heroes. I think shes currently on top with Thor even a little more. Let's hope that she uses this powers against Kang and in Secret Wars.
The mere act of using the Darkhold, even for so little time, have a price. And Strange can count himself lucky on that one. (I hate-hate-hate that third eye, creepy af.) It's unfortunate that you are a not a comic book reader, or you would have enjoyed so much more the presence of Reed Richards (a.k.a. Mr. Fantastic) on this movie. He's the leader of a group called Fantastic 4, which is known by the fans as Marvel's First Family. Also, the mere fact that John Krasinski played the role was a kind of fan service, he has been fancast for it for years before the movie release. The Fantastic Four had 3 movies made: the first 2 are kinda ok, the third one should have never been shot. But Marvel Studios will make a new one for them, and hopefully one that makes justice to the characters; should be the first movie of Phase 6, planned for release in 2024. Fun fact: Chris Evans first role as a Marvel's character was as Johnny Storm, the Human Torch, on the first 2 movies of the Fantastic 4, but now no-one can dissociate him from Captain America. Also, Patrick Stewart coming back to his role as Professor Charles Xavier was awesome, although this is a version from a different part of the Multiverse, not the same Charles from Fox's movies (it's actually the Charles Xavier from the early 90's animated series).
I watched the movie with a friend, who is a huge Marvel fan and makes it a principle to avoid trailers, and the look on his face when Charles appeared was priceless:) Unfortunately, I did watch the trailer and so knew who would be there, but it was almost worth it watching my friend lose his sh*t :D
Everything has consequences even if you used darkhold for good reason you used it so you have to give some sacrifices because it helped you that's the worst thing about any demonic powers

A big part of the reason Wanda becomes the villain is because she read the Darkhold and it corrupted her. The book itself was created by an evil interdimensional being called Cthon. Now that she's had a villain arc (albeit a very short one, even by Marvel standards), now begins a redemption arc when she eventually returns. Most of us MCU fans don't think she's dead, plus her last act of destroying both Wundagore mountain AND destroying the Darkhold in every universe was pretty heroic. So its not like she was going to become a badguy permanently, she just got so corrupted by the Darkhold that it made her obsessed with finding her opwn happiness in a universe where her children were real. Once she realized how she was scaring them....she went back to being her uncorrupted self. Kinda what happens in the comics, too. She gets reuinited with her kids when they're teenagers, and Billy and Tommy (or Wiccan and Speed, their codenames) eventually become part of the Young Avengers team. MCU-wise, i think we still have a bit of a ways to go before Wanda is truly reunited with them, but a ton of us dont think Wanda's story is over, and the same goes for Tommy and Billy. I really like the arc of America Chavez's debut, and Xochitl Gomez is a really good young actor. We need a team up film with America and Ms. Marvel's Kamala Khan!
Wanda has had 3 villain arcs now. Most people don't remember that she started a villain and also she ended up being the villain in WV, all of that before MOM. So I wouldn't say that her villain arc was shortlived and I'm glad it's over because now we can have her for much more projects (such as her solo movie, Agatha COC, DS3, KD, Secret Wars, etc) since she will now try to redeem herself as you mentioned. Because think about it, if she was still a villain she would appear in 1 or 2 projects max and that would be a waste of an amazing actress and character tbh. Let's hope that her redemption arc is as good as her villain arcs and that she heals from her trauma and finds happiness, she really needs it.
I think people exaggerate the importance of Reid Richards telling Wanda about Black Bolt's whisper. Yes he's the 'smartest man alive' doesnt mean he knows the Scarlet Witch can literally rewrite reality. He is a scientist after all! That's booksmart not wisdom. And what's his alternative here? Running would be the smartest thing to do cos stretching certainly won't help. He leads with compassion which is smart given Wanda is so powerful.
Also a lot of people seem to forget that Wanda is a telepath. So any information shared with her doesn't matter unless the character in question is capable of guarding their mind against intrusion.
Sounds like you're in serious denial about how dumb the entire scene is, you forget this wasn't even in the original script, they were added on post production and it's painfully obvious

@@ninjanibba4259 you should tell that to the Dark Knight... Doctor Strange being the protagonist inherently makes him less interesting, he can’t zig zag. But if you look at the recorded screen times Strange is around 35 minutes longer than Wanda. We also see a full spectrum of his morality through other stranges. I just wish the film was longer to allow certain decisions to play out better
The woman at the end played by Charlize Theron is a sorceress named Clea. The comic books were far more different with Strange's sidekicks and backstory. Clea is/was Steven's lover and eventual wife (and later divorced). She is from the same dimension as Dormammu and his sister. In the comics, Dormammu looks like humanoid and understands time. Though insanely powerful and evil, most of his powers are used to keep monsters from instantly destroying Dormammu's dimension. Clea leaves to learn from Strange after a later encounter with Dormammu.

I stopped collecting X-Men at #175 when they brought "Jean Grey" back from the dead. I was pissed. John Byrne had promised us at Chicago Comic-Con she would remain dead like the original Captain Mar-Vell and wore a T-Shirt saying "SHE'S DEAD AND SHE'S GONNA STAY DEAD" So I know all about the original Shi'ar, Hellfire Club, Dark Phoenix, Days of Future Past, Brood stories, but not really more recent stuff like Cable, Genyosha or Deadpool. Never read Spider-Man, but used to watch the 1967 show reruns, The Electric Company (Spidey Super-Stories! with Morgan Freeman!) on PBS and Spider-Man and His Amazing Friends.
Liz Olsen is a great actress, and it's nice to see her take on a villainous role for once. Given Wanda's unstable powers in the source material + the Darkhold, it's just a matter of time. Instead of just the Wandavision show, she could have had a solo movie first where we can see the Darkhold slowly corrupt her. Everything has been jammed into this movie, which is why most audiences are so confused on her sudden villain turn especially if they didn't see Wandavision.
@@Shadi092986 Yeah, the necessity to watch the TV series to fully understand what happened to the character is a huge gamble for Marvel, and the casual movie goer will be left to connect the dots on the fly. Not ideal, must I say.
@@vinnycordeiro The Disney+ shows has been a problem even when it was announced. It's far easier to get in if it's only the movies, but now there's movies AND three six-hour shows per year. Quality is clearly being sacrificed, especially with most shows' writing nowadays.
Many misconception that turns false into trusted info eg: Darkhold has power. *it doesn't* Darkhold and Vishanti both are just books with pure knowledge. One contains all the knowledge and one contains the answer to everything. With that info on hand: Wanda wasn't amped by Darkhold. She merely tapped into her Scarlet Witch powers as she finally knows who she is and practiced her magics. What the Darkhold did was warped her already fragile fractured mind into doing its bidding while gave her an entire knowledge of all magic/witchcraft/sorceries. That's it.
By destroying the Darkhold is every Universe she saved countless lives from being affected or corrupted by that book. Specially since we saw that it basically screwed several Doctor Stranges and caused an Incursion. In one act, Wanda did more good than just helping defeat Thanos in one Universe. People saying she's unredeemable are the same people who still root for Kratos in God of War, a man who slaughtered countless innocent for revenge, Joel from the Last of Us who doomed their world because of his selfishness and grief over his daughter, Omni-Man in Invincible, a man who killed thousands just to prove that human life is meaningless for them, Loki who killed thousands because apparently his adopted and had a rough past, and Sinister Strange who destroyed his entire Universe to get his love one back.

She didn't struggle imo. Elizabeth used the word "weak" referring to that Wanda in terms of durability, not power. 838 Wanda doesn't have the regeneration or physicality as our Wanda ( that's why you see that she doesn't regenerate when she gets cut). Also, Lizzie said that our Wanda was trying to keep connection to the other Wanda which made her feel more tired in the fight. Additionally, only the SW has the power to warp reality, if it really was 838 Wanda's powers she would've really struggled against them and could've even lost. Wanda is powerful but she can't "blink" people out of existence in the MCU( that's a huge exaggeration). Even in comics when she erased the X-gene, it was only a one time thing and she was amped by the life force.

The thing is that if they somehow made Wanda do that, there wouldn't be a fight and the movie would be shorter, same as if Thor used warriors madness in any of the Thor movies or had the odinforce. Sometimes OP characters such as Thor, Dr Strange, Odin, Infinity Ultron and Wanda have to be nerfed for the sake of the plot, and I think we have to start getting used to it to avoid absurd debates. The Wanda that Xavier encounters in her mind is Earth 838 Wanda, the Wanda who's body was being used by our Wanda. The Darkhold DID corrupt Wanda, but the Darkhold is not a living being. Our Wanda was mentally herself, but the Darkhold had warped her mind in such a way to make her think the things she thought, and believe that she had to do the things she did.
As for the third eye, although every version of the Darkhold was destroyed, this does not undo the affect that using the Darkhold had on Strange.
earth 838 is just their designations, there are three trillion other multiverses who also call themselves earth 838

Wanda had them also, but it's implied throughout the movie the book corrupted her completely, we get a glimpse of her true form twice , first when she kills Xavier. We get a glimpse of it again when she telports for the jump scare. He couldn't have gotten it the same way 616 did, because we know he would dreamwalk into his variations to force them to kill themselves trying to find a happy ending with Christine.

The Third Eye is typical Dr Strange in the comics. It is not part of the DarkHold but they are linking it in the MCU. Once you look into the DarkHold the evil has a part of you. That is more like the comic Dr Strange there are parts of the darker arts that he does know and has part of him. Which means sooner or later he will come to his end because of them. There are elements of the comics they seem to be incorporating now like the DarkHold, the Third Eye and the fact that Christine is not the love of his life but she is coming. Clea is who you saw in the end who is the Sorceress Supreme of the Dark Dimension. Strange's equal in every way.

@@JinxMadness You know Waldron said it might be because he used the Darkhold to possess his body. He also went on to talk about Mordos warning of the bill coming due. He is not my favorite screen writer but he tries to keep things related in his stories. In the comics the third eye was an aspect of good with the eye of Agamotto but they are just bringing it up different in the MCU. Maybe his experience with the Darkhold is what finally awakens it in him. However they try to explain it in universe is still open but from the interviews it is obvious it's not really settled but it has something to do with all the experience of Strange.

Despite the destruction of the Darkhold those who used it are still corrupted by it. Also, I don't think it was truly destroyed. The elder being Cython still exists, and he wrote the Darkhold. Also, there is one living being (Dr. Strange) who has seen its pages, so they exist in his mind and the good doctor has a photographic memory.
The producer and writer have already stated Strange no longer remembers the information in the book the moment Wanda destroyed it! Wanda didnt behave that way because she wanted to, it was the darkhold corruption making her act this way, as you can see in the end of the movie she says "i would never hurt anyone, im not a monster" thats what she truly wanted, and thats when the corruption got broken when she saw her kids afraid of her, something that people think is that Darkhold made wanda this strong, but its totally wrong, the dark hold is actually a extention of scarlet witch powers, but what it did was give her knowledge about her powers and her origin, she did not get weak when the darkhold got destroyed, she only lost the knowledge that the book gave her.

I still say that if they had made as much of a big deal about Vision's funeral as they did about Stark's then Wanda could have processed her grief more easily without so much collateral damage and without Wanda getting corrupted by the Darkhold. Plus concentrating on teaching America how to use her powers sooner would have given time to get to the timeline where the Wanda that has kids could convince the Scarlet Witch how terrible it was to try to replace her and that would make her a monster that would save a lot of the people she killed before that happened
That's all well and good but by the end of Endgame at least nobody knew where Vision's body was. As far as we can tell from what they've released Wanda went straight from that funeral to go find his body, and then we get Wandavision. There's really not much time in there for the Avengers, most of whom are doing their own post-snap recovery to have given a funeral, assuming Wanda would even tell them about finding the body.
On the teaching America thing though, when would they have had time? They meet her and Wanda is after them immediately. Strange had literally no time to train America. And under the influence of the Darkhold, I don't see Wanda listening to reason without the boys shocking her back to a bit of sense by them being afraid of her and defending their mother.

I'd really hoped that the movie would have ended with Wanda using her magic to help America find her mothers as America helped her find a universe where she could be with her boys and vis.
I would've really liked that too, but I think Wanda thought at that moment that America would never forgive her ( bc let's be honest why would she? Even though I think she kinda did when she saw Wanda crying and repenting). Maybe in the future if Wanda is in her redemption arc, she might actually apologize to her and help her find her moms.
also, remember vision memories and emotions in the new vision body....it can do the same thing as the original vision body, phasing, making him self hard as jade/diamonds or intangible.
Vision could easily just saved Wanda before any of the rocks hurt her, which we will see in another flashback on why she is still alive in another tv show or movie
Wanda/Scarlett Witch was a powerful & terrifying villain in this, & while it did 'guide' her down the path of evil, I like to think the Darkhold prayed on her pain & loss, her vulnerability at the time in WandaVision & really didn't have much corrupting to do!
She'd lost her parents, her brother & just when she was finally feeling happy, she lost Vision- her one true love. Grief pushed her into a fantasy world where everything was fine- but unlike normal grieving people, she actually had the power to make it real - so she believed it was & then when she faced the truth, she lost her children ... & Vision all over again!
I think pain, loss & grief corrupted her as much, if not more than the Darkhold!
She's a 'tragic villian' - actually felt really sorry for her in this!

1) She enslaved and puppeteered people in Westview before she got the darkhold
2) She tortured wizards after darkhold book was destroyed
3) She didn't kill Dr Strange as she kills everyone else when she first met him. If she was truly corrupted, she would.
4) Corruption didn't stop her from destroying the temple.
5) Dr Strange using the darkhold didn't become evil.
She did all of this on her own will.

Remember, Dr. Strange has a photographic memory, and he memorized the entire book in his final battle with Wanda. So for all intents and purposes, Dr. Strange IS a Darkhold.
As for his getting a 3rd eye... if you remember using the Dreamwalker spell corrupts the soul. So even if the books are gone, his soul was corrupted by using it as he did.

Oh also, people tends to misunderstand what happened in the last scene of the darkhold being destroyed, wundagore was not the cause of that but wanda was, she destroyed the original darkhold from her universe wich is Wundagore, and then casted a spell in the multiverse to end all the darkholds, most people dont know but the Scarlet Witch is a nexus being, she can interact and affect entire universes with her powers, as she did in comics once wich almost caused the destruction of the entire multiverse.
She didn't destroy the multiverse in comics. She just erased the powers of mutants across the multiverse and it was implied that maybe in the omniverse as well. Her chaos wave was powerful but it didn't destroy the multiverse at all.
@@andresdanielem and i never said she did, i said it almost did, strange was looking into the multiverse and saw her chaos magic going through the whole multiverse, he even said it would collapse and the whole existance could be gone, he said he could revert it but there was no time for him to figure out how to stop it, if im not wrong what made it stop was phoenix itself that clashed with wanda's chaos magic by making more mutants surge instead.

The third eye didn't have any thing to do with the darkhold. It is just a sign of his spiritual growth and the growth of his powers.

Wanda isn't weak without the Darkhold at all lol. Even before learning the true potential of her powers, she was top 4 most powerful heroes. I think shes currently on top with Thor even a little more. Let's hope that she uses this powers against Kang and in Secret Wars.
The mere act of using the Darkhold, even for so little time, have a price. And Strange can count himself lucky on that one. (I hate-hate-hate that third eye, creepy af.)
It's unfortunate that you are a not a comic book reader, or you would have enjoyed so much more the presence of Reed Richards (a.k.a. Mr. Fantastic) on this movie. He's the leader of a group called Fantastic 4, which is known by the fans as Marvel's First Family. Also, the mere fact that John Krasinski played the role was a kind of fan service, he has been fancast for it for years before the movie release. The Fantastic Four had 3 movies made: the first 2 are kinda ok, the third one should have never been shot. But Marvel Studios will make a new one for them, and hopefully one that makes justice to the characters; should be the first movie of Phase 6, planned for release in 2024.
Fun fact: Chris Evans first role as a Marvel's character was as Johnny Storm, the Human Torch, on the first 2 movies of the Fantastic 4, but now no-one can dissociate him from Captain America.
Also, Patrick Stewart coming back to his role as Professor Charles Xavier was awesome, although this is a version from a different part of the Multiverse, not the same Charles from Fox's movies (it's actually the Charles Xavier from the early 90's animated series).
I watched the movie with a friend, who is a huge Marvel fan and makes it a principle to avoid trailers, and the look on his face when Charles appeared was priceless:) Unfortunately, I did watch the trailer and so knew who would be there, but it was almost worth it watching my friend lose his sh*t :D
Everything has consequences even if you used darkhold for good reason you used it so you have to give some sacrifices because it helped you that's the worst thing about any demonic powers

A big part of the reason Wanda becomes the villain is because she read the Darkhold and it corrupted her. The book itself was created by an evil interdimensional being called Cthon.
Now that she's had a villain arc (albeit a very short one, even by Marvel standards), now begins a redemption arc when she eventually returns. Most of us MCU fans don't think she's dead, plus her last act of destroying both Wundagore mountain AND destroying the Darkhold in every universe was pretty heroic. So its not like she was going to become a badguy permanently, she just got so corrupted by the Darkhold that it made her obsessed with finding her opwn happiness in a universe where her children were real. Once she realized how she was scaring them....she went back to being her uncorrupted self.
Kinda what happens in the comics, too. She gets reuinited with her kids when they're teenagers, and Billy and Tommy (or Wiccan and Speed, their codenames) eventually become part of the Young Avengers team.
MCU-wise, i think we still have a bit of a ways to go before Wanda is truly reunited with them, but a ton of us dont think Wanda's story is over, and the same goes for Tommy and Billy.
I really like the arc of America Chavez's debut, and Xochitl Gomez is a really good young actor. We need a team up film with America and Ms. Marvel's Kamala Khan!
Wanda has had 3 villain arcs now. Most people don't remember that she started a villain and also she ended up being the villain in WV, all of that before MOM. So I wouldn't say that her villain arc was shortlived and I'm glad it's over because now we can have her for much more projects (such as her solo movie, Agatha COC, DS3, KD, Secret Wars, etc) since she will now try to redeem herself as you mentioned. Because think about it, if she was still a villain she would appear in 1 or 2 projects max and that would be a waste of an amazing actress and character tbh. Let's hope that her redemption arc is as good as her villain arcs and that she heals from her trauma and finds happiness, she really needs it.
I think people exaggerate the importance of Reid Richards telling Wanda about Black Bolt's whisper. Yes he's the 'smartest man alive' doesnt mean he knows the Scarlet Witch can literally rewrite reality. He is a scientist after all! That's booksmart not wisdom. And what's his alternative here? Running would be the smartest thing to do cos stretching certainly won't help. He leads with compassion which is smart given Wanda is so powerful.
Also a lot of people seem to forget that Wanda is a telepath. So any information shared with her doesn't matter unless the character in question is capable of guarding their mind against intrusion.
Sounds like you're in serious denial about how dumb the entire scene is, you forget this wasn't even in the original script, they were added on post production and it's painfully obvious

@@ninjanibba4259 you should tell that to the Dark Knight... Doctor Strange being the protagonist inherently makes him less interesting, he can’t zig zag. But if you look at the recorded screen times Strange is around 35 minutes longer than Wanda. We also see a full spectrum of his morality through other stranges. I just wish the film was longer to allow certain decisions to play out better

The woman at the end played by Charlize Theron is a sorceress named Clea. The comic books were far more different with Strange's sidekicks and backstory. Clea is/was Steven's lover and eventual wife (and later divorced). She is from the same dimension as Dormammu and his sister. In the comics, Dormammu looks like humanoid and understands time. Though insanely powerful and evil, most of his powers are used to keep monsters from instantly destroying Dormammu's dimension. Clea leaves to learn from Strange after a later encounter with Dormammu.

I stopped collecting X-Men at #175 when they brought "Jean Grey" back from the dead. I was pissed. John Byrne had promised us at Chicago Comic-Con she would remain dead like the original Captain Mar-Vell and wore a T-Shirt saying "SHE'S DEAD AND SHE'S GONNA STAY DEAD" So I know all about the original Shi'ar, Hellfire Club, Dark Phoenix, Days of Future Past, Brood stories, but not really more recent stuff like Cable, Genyosha or Deadpool. Never read Spider-Man, but used to watch the 1967 show reruns, The Electric Company (Spidey Super-Stories! with Morgan Freeman!) on PBS and Spider-Man and His Amazing Friends.

Liz Olsen is a great actress, and it's nice to see her take on a villainous role for once.
Given Wanda's unstable powers in the source material + the Darkhold, it's just a matter of time. Instead of just the Wandavision show, she could have had a solo movie first where we can see the Darkhold slowly corrupt her. Everything has been jammed into this movie, which is why most audiences are so confused on her sudden villain turn especially if they didn't see Wandavision.
@@Shadi092986 Yeah, the necessity to watch the TV series to fully understand what happened to the character is a huge gamble for Marvel, and the casual movie goer will be left to connect the dots on the fly. Not ideal, must I say.
@@vinnycordeiro The Disney+ shows has been a problem even when it was announced. It's far easier to get in if it's only the movies, but now there's movies AND three six-hour shows per year. Quality is clearly being sacrificed, especially with most shows' writing nowadays.

With that info on hand: Wanda wasn't amped by Darkhold. She merely tapped into her Scarlet Witch powers as she finally knows who she is and practiced her magics. What the Darkhold did was warped her already fragile fractured mind into doing its bidding while gave her an entire knowledge of all magic/witchcraft/sorceries. That's it.
A thing that was pointed out to me about Mordo in this universe is he's wearing green meaning stop or he's bad subliminally
By destroying the Darkhold is every Universe she saved countless lives from being affected or corrupted by that book. Specially since we saw that it basically screwed several Doctor Stranges and caused an Incursion. In one act, Wanda did more good than just helping defeat Thanos in one Universe.
People saying she's unredeemable are the same people who still root for Kratos in God of War, a man who slaughtered countless innocent for revenge, Joel from the Last of Us who doomed their world because of his selfishness and grief over his daughter, Omni-Man in Invincible, a man who killed thousands just to prove that human life is meaningless for them, Loki who killed thousands because apparently his adopted and had a rough past, and Sinister Strange who destroyed his entire Universe to get his love one back.

Also, the reason wanda struggled to fight the iluminati, was because she was limited to 838 wanda's powers, wich were not her full scarlet witch potential, she could warp reality in a certain scale and could not use too much power to not exaust herself, thats why she didnt fly too much or just blinked all of them out of existance, said so by Elizabeth Olsen if it was our Scarlet Witch herself there she would've cleaned them up with ease.
She didn't struggle imo. Elizabeth used the word "weak" referring to that Wanda in terms of durability, not power. 838 Wanda doesn't have the regeneration or physicality as our Wanda ( that's why you see that she doesn't regenerate when she gets cut). Also, Lizzie said that our Wanda was trying to keep connection to the other Wanda which made her feel more tired in the fight. Additionally, only the SW has the power to warp reality, if it really was 838 Wanda's powers she would've really struggled against them and could've even lost. Wanda is powerful but she can't "blink" people out of existence in the MCU( that's a huge exaggeration). Even in comics when she erased the X-gene, it was only a one time thing and she was amped by the life force.

The thing is that if they somehow made Wanda do that, there wouldn't be a fight and the movie would be shorter, same as if Thor used warriors madness in any of the Thor movies or had the odinforce. Sometimes OP characters such as Thor, Dr Strange, Odin, Infinity Ultron and Wanda have to be nerfed for the sake of the plot, and I think we have to start getting used to it to avoid absurd debates. I agree with you tho that when our Wanda dream walked she used a high potential of 838 Wandas powers, which are kind of similar since they are almost the same person but when she attacked that 838 Wanda she wasn't even attacking or moving that's why she easily overpowered her.
@@andresdanielemmostly of what you said is actually true, they make things that have no sense to make the movie longer, for example ebony maw, the son of thanos who has telekinesis, in endgame instead of making the gaunglet fly towards thanos, he made a bunch of rubble slowly bring it to him lol, they nerf those characters who are supposed to be unbeatable, but again our wanda overpowered her because she is in fact superior in power, when two psychic colide, they can resist each other powers unless the other is much above the level the other one is, same would be for wanda, since the scarlet witch has much more raw power than her base self who only knows how to move objects and manipulate minds.
