This movie was pretty mixed in terms of fan reaction, but honestly I enjoyed it. Do I wish it moved the needle a bit more when it came to advancing the Multiverse Saga storyline, yes. But I think it served its purpose of explaining the concepts of excursions, and establishing even more universes out there, other than the Spidey-Verse. Raimi really made the MCU's first pseudo-horror movie here. Loved Wanda as the villain personally. Definitely enjoyed this one. Fun entry to the MCU overall.
At the end of the first Doctor Strange movie, Mordo wasn’t killing people. He was just taking magic away from those he decided were unworthy to wield it. And yes, those are Ultron sentries. In dimension 838, the Ultron program was a success.
The Scarlet Witch is extremely durable here. When she escaped the Mirror Dimension, she literally crawled through glass, cutting herself up and basically just regenerating all the way. A direct impact from a magic canon didn't even do anything against her than just blow her back.
Says the person who agreed to kill Dr Strange in their universe and causes all this doomfall. The writing is so bad on the Iluminati I swear... they are so wasted.
It was the fear in the kids eyes that snapped her out of it. She was being influenced by the darkhold, but seeing her kids react to her as a monster is what really drive it home.
@bensenzo it explains everything just by watching it it doesn't focus on dr Stanger mostly and it focuses on the female characters alot more and gives them alot more screen time it's intentional for the mcu to do and it's woke putting identity politics before entertainment is pathetic
I will forever love this movie for giving me exactly what I wanted. I wanted Wanda to be the main villain from the start but I didnt think they would go there. The smile on my face during that reveal was huge. I do wish they would have gone a liitle further with uses of her powers. Instead of magic rays from her hands, manipulate reality a little more. There was some but just a little more would had been great. I also loved how it ended. Nobody could defeat Wanda except for herself. The moment when she says "id never hurt anyone" only to realize just how many people she hurt and is truly a monster hit hard. Elizabeth Olsen nailed it.
Wanda...Wanda..Elisabeth Olsen.. WANDA.. Yeah this is the Problem of this damn movie its a Doctor Strange Movie and the big Problem is it doesnt feel like it and this is the reason why some people didnt like this movie it doesnt feel like its a Story about Doctor Strange like the first movie it was or like Captain America, Spider-Man and Iron Man this is the Problem with todays Marvel Movies. Everything must be conected to eatch other or they trying to promote other characters in movies like Doctor Strange & Ant-Man 3.
Fun fact: the octopus with the giant eye in the beginning, they literally 3d mapped and imaged Elizabeth Olson's eye for and used it as a subtle foreshadowing.
58:25 Seeing both Professor X and Scarlet Witch in the same movie brings me back to the old X-Men cartoons growing up. Now this, puts a smile on my face 😌
Her kids' terror at what she became is what snapped her back into her senses. The entire movie she viewed everyone standing between her and her children as enemies, merely a mother in full on maternal protective mode. She didn't see the deaths as murder. She saw them as protecting her children and couldn't understand why people were trying to keep them apart. Their fear was strong enough to overcome the Darkholds grasp, allowing her to see things clearly without the corruption of the darkhold. Not to mention the self love she received from 838 Wanda. Once she realized what she did, and how easily she could be seduced by evil she made the only play she could. Effectively saving the entire multiverse from the madness of the darkhold, and taking her own life. So she would never be in a situation like that again. I don't think she is dead, I'm willing to bet money she will come back, maybe not as a hero so quickly, but she will have a redemption arch, and she will be needed to fight Kang.
To try and help jog your guys' memory, Doctor West was Doctor Strange's assistant back from when you watched the first Doctor Strange movie, alongside Christine Palmer back at the very beginning when he was still a surgeon and not yet a sorcerer. If you go back and watch the movie again you'll recognize West's face when you see him and make the connection.
I like when Wanda references Stephen giving Thanos the Time Stone, saying "You break the rules and become a hero. I do it, and I become the enemy." because it lays out the fundamental difference between them and what makes Wanda the villain in this scenario. Stephen was doing it for selfless reasons while Wanda got twisted to the point of only thinking of herself.
Like the Anicent One said, "One must break the rules to serve the greater good." Wanda only broke the rules just so she could enslave everyone in Westview just make herself feel better about Vision death, that's selfish.
The reason why the cgi looks so cinematic and the jump scare were cool and creative was because it was directed by the man that made the first spider-man trilogy sam raimi
Clea is dormamu's neice in the comics (dormamu the villian from the 1st doctor strange movie, "dormamu i've come to bargain") she is also dorctor strange's love interest, a pretty cool character. also, in the comics, wanda and pietro were born near the wundagore mountain in europe as mutants to (i think) non mutant parents but the kids were separated from them at a young age and magneto took them under his wing posing as their father. cthon is a demon who wrote the darkhold as the movie said. he was the one who bestowed wanda with chaos magic when she was born to be able to possess her later. but wanda used the darkhold to seal him in herself. its all pretty interesting lore, wanda's stories have always been one of my absolute favourites, in comics and in mcu. fret not she'll definitely be back. its not that easy to destroy her ;)
screw the political retcons created in a cinematic rights war era time to restore Wanda and Pietro (along with tons of other de-Mutantized character) to their former and rightful Mutanthood!
Been waiting for this for ages. I love the inclusion of Monica and between the solo reactions and videogame plays it's been a minute since Monica has appeared.
Saw the entrance coming a mile away after the trailers... but that unexpected and wonderfully chosen musical riff still made me grin like a madman and stamp my feet in the theater.
The fight with the music notes was actually a joke suggested by the composer, Danny Elfman. But Sam Raimi and the rest of the crew liked it so much, they used it.
One thing a lot of people forget when they say Wanda is a full villain now and can't come back from this is the Darkhold corrupted her mind. I watched Agents of Shield so l remember exactly how damaging that book is. People are quick to forgive Bucky for all the bad he's done while being mind controlled well that book is like that only times 10. I still see a redemption arc for her
And with the book corrupting her mind, it makes sense for her to also hate Dr Strange. If you think about it, without the Time Stone it would have been impossible for Thanos to bring back the Mind Stone. If Thanos had gotten the Mind Stone first, he could have used its mind control abilities to gain the Time Stone. This means that if Strange had not given up the Time Stone, Wanda "blowing a hole in the head of the person she loved" wouldnt have been for nothing. Obviously in the end this scenario is a loss, as Strange knows, but Wanda doesnt know or believe that. Wanda hates Dr Strange because as she sees it, she had to sacrifice everything to try and stop Thanos whereas Strange broke the rules and gave up straight away.
I remember this movie coming out nearing Mother's Day and after the movie, it really made my heart go a little sad knowing how it kinda ties with the movie too. A mother's love, even though twisted, Wanda still has the love left for her two boys..
Spoiler Warning I don’t know if you read these but the reason why Wanda came to her senses at the end is because Wanda freed her from ( spoiler ) her possession by an entity named Chthon. How does one know when someone is possessed by Chthon? Simple…. For the comic readers it’s instantly recognizable because when he possesses someone he turns their finger tips black. In his humanoid form he’s got elongated fingers with black tips. And he can posses anyone who reads certain chapters of the Darkhold. He can resurrect himself using one of Wanda’s kids because they were made from part of his power. That’s why he possessed Wanda. To get her child and become reborn in the flesh. Chthon is an old god and he’s even hated by other old gods. Doramamu absolutely hates him and if/when they meet they’re going to rip each other to pieces lol
I don't think that applies at all in the MCU, Wanda didn't have the Darkhold yet when she created her kids. And Agatha has the black fingers too, and she is not possessed by Cthon.
The appearance of Reed Richards/Mr. Fantastic (leader of the Fantastic Four) surprised many because the variant we see in the movie is played by John Krasinski, who was a fan favorite for years to play the character. but sadly there's little chance he'll play him in the fantastic 4 movie coming out in 2025.
I think people hated on this movie because they hyped themselves up, reading fake rumors online promising 87 different cameos that didn't happen. I loved it. The best part is it was different! Most MCU movies are filmed the same way. But this was the first time they let the director do his own thing, and it actually felt like a Raimi movie. I really hope he keep directing strange movies.
and also because the cameos they got didn't act like they wanted to (they wanted them to act like their classic selves everyone knows instead of their type of persone they become when they become members of the Illuminati) basically, all the complains are born from dull ignorance and arrogance
@leonardo longhi Yeah, and being mad they died so quickly. Relax, they're variants lol. We'll see them again, its not a big deal. I thought their deaths was great. MOM is the MCUs first horror film. You shouldn't have been so surprised to see it.
Or people hated it because it's an anti-feminist film (Marvel barely has any superheroines [in Civil War, each side was 5 men, 1 woman], and you're going to do a heel turn on her?) in service of anti-woman tropes ("Wimmen are too weak to handle real power!"), based on a racist comic story (Wanda can't have kids because Vision wasn't human! It wasn't a REAL marriage! She married her dildo! That line about "love is for souls, not for bodies"? Forget that! No Inter-marriage!) and mixed in with a character that's a blatant piece of political propaganda. (Her name is "America" and she uses STARS to travel across BORDERS! We're a nation of immigrants! If you think we should have border security, you're.RACIST! Sure, bringing in unlimited workers will flood the labor market and crush wages, but we're not doing this to make money while you suffer, oh, never! We want to let all of South America in here because we LOVE the LatinX! Give us your tired, your poor…America! America!) Garbage from start to stop, mixed with pointless ghoulery that contradicts the spirit of the MCU because they want to pander to Raimi. Also just poorly constructed (if America is the heroine, why is it Christine who gets the big moments? Oh, yeah because Rachel McAdams is a star and a much better actress than whatshername. Fair enough…but hardly serves the story). And it makes no logical sense. What, they couldn't find a world where Wanda was dead and Vision was raising the kids and our Wanda could have gone there? How about one where Pietro's alive and she gets to be with her twin again? How about one where that Wanda understands and lets our Wanda be the "cool aunt" who lives with them? And while the Illuminati is a horrifically idiotic retcon, it IS Tony Stark's baby. Doing this film without rehiring RDJ is just damn cheap.
PS-I bailed after half an hour. Wish I'd done that the first time. (Sorry, Rico! Sorry, Monica! I can only take so much. Ain't clicking on your Ragnarschlock link, either.)

Clea is niece of Dormammu (The Big Being in first movie) and also -spoiler- comicbook Stephen's wife. Illuminati are in the comics, but thier team is a little different, in the comics there are characters who represent someone: - Namor of the Atlanteans - Iron Man of the Avengers - Professor X of the X-Men - Mr. Fantastic of the Fantastic Four - Black Bolt of the Inhumans - Doctor Strange of himself and ocassionaly Black Panther representing Wakanda.
And they could never agree on anything except for one time and it was the one time they got it so wrong that it came back to bite them in the ass BIG TIME.

Until 2019, Marvel Studios legally (and ironically) couldn't use X-Men or even mention them or say the word "mutant" because 20th Century Fox held the film rights to them. However, after the Walt Disney company bought Fox's tv and film divisions, Marvel was able to take back the film rights to X-Men, Deadpool, and the Fantastic Four among other characters. As a result of the merger, the Fox corporation became their own thing. So they had to change the name of the tv and film studio. 20th Century Fox is now known as 20th Century Studios. Now that I got that out of the way, here's the real fun detail: My favorite part of this entire movie was hearing the reorchestrated opening track to X-Men: The Animated Series when Charles arrived. I also loved hearing him reprise his quote from Days of Future Past. Patrick Stewart previously portrayed Charles Xavier/Professor X in the X-Men live-action films, but this version of Charles is not the same incarnation. 838-Charles is pretty much a merger of both the animated series and the live-action films. He's even wearing the same suit and riding the same hoverchair as his counterpart from the cartoon. X-Men: The Animated Series ran for five seasons from 1992 to 1997, but now Marvel Studios is producing a sixth season set to premiere this fall. It'll be under the name X-Men '97. Most of the original voice cast is returning, and a seventh season is already underway. In fact, the success that the X-Men cartoon had was the reason that 20th Century Fox had decided to create their film series to begin with. Rico, I recommend checking out the Wolverine trilogy. Logan is hands down one of the best superhero films ever. In other news, a Fantastic Four film is in development now and it will premiere on Valentine’s Day 2025. Originally, MCU Spider-Man director Jon Watts was supposed to direct this new film. Instead, he'll be taking a sabbatical from superhero films until it's time to work on the MCU's fourth Spider-Man entry. In the meantime, Jon worked on a new Star Wars show called Skeleton Crew starring Jude Law coming to Disney Plus this year. The new Fantastic Four film will now be directed by Matt Shakman, the same guy who directed all nine episodes of WandaVision. Black Bolt is from the Inhumans show that unfortunately didn't do so well, but words like inhuman and terrigen are all the more reason you and Monica should watch Marvel's Agents of SHIELD at least during your free time. It's seven seasons long, but the characters of the show make it all the more enjoyable. As if that weren’t incentive enough, two of the main cast members are from the UK. They’ve become fan favorites among the show’s community. A handful of reactors including but not limited to Blind Wave, Torchwood Boy, Sesskasays, FictionalDarling, and The Normies would recommend you jump right in.
I love that Prof X wanted to give Strange a chance. He's a teacher, and he sees the good in people. It could've just been a little crowd-pleasing cameo, but they got a heart-warming moment out of it.

@@Adanu191 In any moment I said she's a good person nor was I trying to excuse the things she did. And clearly at the end, her character was not even properly written on the film, the writers dind't even cared to watch her miniseries, that's why she's the villain on the movie. I'm sure others have said that Wanda goes evil in the comic's and puts the entire Marvel Universe into an alternate universe. The storyline was called House of M.
For anyone wondering, and is curious; It's not entirely explained, and I think people would have to have prior knowledge of the Darkhold, but the way Wanda knew where/what Universe America was in is because of the Darkhold. The book can sense magical beings, and in this case, that being America, Wanda knew exactly where America was, so that's how she ended up dreamwalking into her 838 counterpart. As a side note as well, the book corrupts its reader, and as stated, exacts a heavy toll. Wanda wanted her kids, and the Darkhold grasped onto that and showed her how she could obtain her kids from when she read it in the epilogue of WandaVision, which is where she discovered the multiverse, and the Darkhold had shown/told her about America.
i really hope wanda isn’t dead, she just had a huge arc and grew amazingly and was so fleshed out and given a whole personality, background and history - and for her to be just dead now would be such a waste imo. she better come back for agatha coven of chaos.
her character over stayed it's welcome because she put other people on pain just because of her non existing children it's pathetic storytelling amd she deserves no sympathy I would put a bullet to her head no chances
Tis movie was really amazing. Love the horror like vibe of it and Wanda was just perfect here. Defenetly one of the best villains with good motives (you can see her point yet still knows it’s bad, but you also know it’s not her fault it’s the darkhold), also the way she was “defeated” was perfect, the only one who is able to beat her is herself (plus the fear in the eyes of her kids). The Iluminati anihilation was so gory and awesome. Overall I like how they portraited Scarlet Witch and her power level in this movie because she is literaly one of the most powerful MARVEL characters so if she was truely evil it would be even quicker and nobody would stand in her way. And my only problem with this movie are the fans who overhyped it with stupid expectations and were disappointed then.
no it was the opposite of amazing cause its a woke failure not focusing on the main character this movie failed amd its satisfying to see these crap films get the backlash they deserve
Elizabeth Olsen will be back in future movies btw :) Wanda is way too popular of a character right now to kill off forever. She's definitely coming back in the future and I think that's confirmed. Her two boys will be in Agatha's TV Show on Disney Plus.
This is such a savage marvel entry. It got a lot of hate it didn't deserve. Wanda is bad ass as the scarlet witch, she makes an incredibly intimidating villan. I hope she stays an antagonist.
Just to make things clear! Spiderman is still a thing, He still exists, people know of Spiderman (Chavez doesn't due to not being from that universe), They just don't know peter parker, or that Peter Parker is Spiderman
Lady at the end is Dormammus daughter, hotdog stand guy is great friend of the movies director, he’s been in multiple of his movies. Bruce Campbell, almost forgot his name.
It was Benedict Cumberbatch ( the actor who plays Strange ) that came up with the music fight. He’s the one who wrote it in the movie. I agree it’s very creative and epic.
If you guys didn’t notice Christine said that our Doctor Strange’s universe is 616 and in No Way Home Mysterio also called our Earth 616. Just a fun fact
In the comics Wanda goes bad all the time, usually because the Darkhold gets a hold of her. But she gets better. Comic book deaths are rarely permanent, so unless you see the body don't assume anything. We'll probably see her back in the future with her powers at around what they were in Infinity War & Endgame. I think the one new character you might need to Google was Black Bolt. He's the king of a race called the Inhumans. They're great characters, but never had much luck supporting their own book. The individual characters were popular in other books like the Avengers and Fantastic Four, so they're rather beloved as a group. They made a really horrible TV series about them a few years ago which you should not watch no matter how many people tell you to. I hope the Inhumans get introduced in the MCU mostly because they have a gigantic pet dog named Lockjaw that can teleport, and he makes everything better.
I didn't see it posted on here. to clarify one of the end scenes. In one of the Dr. Strange movies he says he has a photographic memory which is how he got multiple degrees. so when he read the darkhold.... third eye.

A lot of people were harsh on this movie but man was it cool to see the crossovers of other marvel titles also I love how they play with Wanda’s delusion in this because she is clearly out of it. So this was directed by Sam Raimi. He directed the Spider-Man trilogy that had Tobey Maguire and the Evil Dead trilogy. Those Evil Dead movies are a lot of fun. The way how Monica didn't jump an inch when she snapped Charles next is the scariest thing this whole reaction.
I mean this movie wasn't really scary in anyway so I don't see why she'd jump lol, its all very pg 13

I love how hyped y'all got seeing those cameos. Same! Same! My theater lost their marbles each time I saw this movie.

Clea is dormamu's neice in the comics (dormamu the villian from the 1st doctor strange movie, "dormamu i've come to bargain") she is also dorctor strange's love interest, a pretty cool character.
also, in the comics, wanda and pietro were born near the wundagore mountain in europe as mutants to (i think) non mutant parents but the kids were separated from them at a young age and magneto took them under his wing posing as their father. cthon is a demon who wrote the darkhold as the movie said. he was the one who bestowed wanda with chaos magic when she was born to be able to possess her later. but wanda used the darkhold to seal him in herself. its all pretty interesting lore, wanda's stories have always been one of my absolute favourites, in comics and in mcu. fret not she'll definitely be back. its not that easy to destroy her ;)
screw the political retcons created in a cinematic rights war era

Been waiting for this for ages. I love the inclusion of Monica and between the solo reactions and videogame plays it's been a minute since Monica has appeared.
Monica Rambeau?
48:55 Seeing Professor X in the MCU for the first time was so satisfying! Especially when they played the old X-Men cartoons theme 😌
yeah!!
Saw the entrance coming a mile away after the trailers... but that unexpected and wonderfully chosen musical riff still made me grin like a madman and stamp my feet in the theater.
Yooo Rico killed me when he did the runes lmaooooooo, and he sounding so serious to do the powers for Monica lmao, bro is so genuine
I still see a redemption arc for her
As you admit, she hasn't had a redemption arc. Bucky's hasn't been too good but he's had one. So they should be quicker to forgive Bucky.
I see it too.
No she can she does in the comics
And with the book corrupting her mind, it makes sense for her to also hate Dr Strange. If you think about it, without the Time Stone it would have been impossible for Thanos to bring back the Mind Stone. If Thanos had gotten the Mind Stone first, he could have used its mind control abilities to gain the Time Stone. This means that if Strange had not given up the Time Stone, Wanda "blowing a hole in the head of the person she loved" wouldnt have been for nothing. Obviously in the end this scenario is a loss, as Strange knows, but Wanda doesnt know or believe that.
Wanda hates Dr Strange because as she sees it, she had to sacrifice everything to try and stop Thanos whereas Strange broke the rules and gave up straight away.
there is none this movie was a woke trash failure to begin with

Spoiler Warning
I don’t know if you read these but the reason why Wanda came to her senses at the end is because Wanda freed her from ( spoiler ) her possession by an entity named Chthon.
You are literally giving false information. None of that applies in the MCU.
I love Rico's expressions. He's hilarious.

Bruce Campbell punching himself for 3 weeks is the most underrated thing in this movie!🤣🤣🤣
makes no sense amd it was stupid to add that plus this film failed such as the many other projects they spewed out the past years
I think people hated on this movie because they hyped themselves up, reading fake rumors online promising 87 different cameos that didn't happen. I loved it. The best part is it was different! Most MCU movies are filmed the same way. But this was the first time they let the director do his own thing, and it actually felt like a Raimi movie. I really hope he keep directing strange movies.
and also because the cameos they got didn't act like they wanted to (they wanted them to act like their classic selves everyone knows instead of their type of persone they become when they become members of the Illuminati)
basically, all the complains are born from dull ignorance and arrogance
America!)
Garbage from start to stop, mixed with pointless ghoulery that contradicts the spirit of the MCU because they want to pander to Raimi.

Now that I got that out of the way, here's the real fun detail:
My favorite part of this entire movie was hearing the reorchestrated opening track to X-Men: The Animated Series when Charles arrived.

I'm sure others have said that Wanda goes evil in the comic's and puts the entire Marvel Universe into an alternate universe. The storyline was called House of M.
For anyone wondering, and is curious;
It's not entirely explained, and I think people would have to have prior knowledge of the Darkhold, but the way Wanda knew where/what Universe America was in is because of the Darkhold.

"Agents of Shield" had Inhumans, but not the comic book version unfortunately. Was still a great series tho.
I didn't see it posted on here. to clarify one of the end scenes. In one of the Dr. Strange movies he says he has a photographic memory which is how he got multiple degrees. so when he read the darkhold.... third eye.
I love watching you guys… it like I’m watching the movies with you
“monica do some magic things!!” LMAO I LOVE Y’ALL🤣🤣🤣
As for the demons being used to fire: Not all view hell as being pits of eternal flames, sometimes it’s ice.
First! Been waiting! A lot of people were harsh on this movie but man was it cool to see the crossovers of other marvel titles also I love how they play with Wanda’s delusion in this because she is clearly out of it. And so glad America Chavez is in the mcu now she’s such a dope character. I did hate that she beat captain marvel but sure
58:24 Seeing Professor X and Scarlet Witch in the same movie brings me back to the old X-Men cartoons growing up! So satisfying 😌
Strange breaks the rules so we could win the infinity war, Wanda broke the laws just so she could enslave everyone in Westview just so she could make herself feel better about vision death, thats selfish.
So this was directed by Sam Raimi. He directed the Spider-Man trilogy that had Tobey Maguire and the Evil Dead trilogy. Those Evil Dead movies are a lot of fun. They range from ominous and creepy to pure chaos to straight up slapstick comedy, like the gag with Bruce Campbell's character in the post credit scene. I don't know if you guys would be interested in horror but those movies are fantastic and definitely worth a watch.
I love Multiverse of Madness in pretty much every aspect, really glad you guys had fun with it. Thanks for the reaction!
Baxter Foundation is from the Fantastic 4 ;).
If you look carefully, when the book of vishanti was being burned the open page had a star on it.
