- Abandoned finds close to home and for the right price are the best! Will it run and drive again?? This 1962 Galaxie is COOL! What should we do with it?? Let us know in the comments! Super excited for this one. A family cruiser is always awesome. I'm thinking 20x8 smoothies and air ride...?

Nothing runs like a FORD brother
They're all junk at some point or another lol
Just started watching. What you have there was a very desirable model with the teenager's of the late 60's and early 70's. The 62 Galaxie 500 4 door Hard Top was still cool looking and easy to get in an out of on our cruising and double date nights. My bud was given his dad's retired business car that very model. He caressed a rebuilt and hoped up 390 under the hood and had a streetlight sleeper. Thanks for renewing my memories.
FEs were a very underrated engine. They had endless amounts of torque and were bulletproof. They werent the greatest for racing (except the 427) The Chevy guys all yell "boat anchor" but in a dystopian future when all the small block Chevies and LS engines will be locked up and in a big pile in the back of an old F250 powered by an FE headed for the scrap yard.
The 390's and 401's did well, too.
The 390's and 401's did well, too.
Some 390 hi-po engines had 401 horsepower,,,then there were the 406 cj engines with 405 horsepower 👍🏾👌🏾 awesome engines,,,,,,love how they sound
The radiator cap is on a separate tank on these early 60's Fords
You're correct! Learned that shortly after. (GM guy here lol). Currently searching for a used one for cheap!
My dad bought new Galaxies in '63 and '66, the latter one from a young dealer in Milwaukee named Bud Selig, the future Commissioner of Baseball.
Bud Selig sold a few Thunderbolts and A/FX Falcons. Mustangs, too.
Owned the same car when I was a teenager loved it what a tank.Don't worry if you lose the keys you can start it with anything that will fit in the slot.
That car is rad! I want to get a 60 or 62 4 door Galaxie. Looks like yours has the emberglow interior.
Working the carb linkage, then looking at your hand was priceless. Don't forget the skin cream when you get home! LOL j/k
nice ride
You got 4 spokes too? Wow if those clean up they're worth a chunk of change
Good job! Can't wait to see where you go with this old cruiser...had to laugh a bit when I saw your truck, and that aerosol can; was a Deere field service tech for a while myself...did the small stuff though, golf, turf and homeowner equipment. Enjoying the channel...keep it up!
thats what im talking about got it running in no time cant wait to see when you get it driving down the road. i will see you at street car take over my friend.👍🏻🖖🏻
Heck of a deal! 😄
It's sporting mid 70s "Thunderbird", wheels.
Actually, they are 80’s Lincoln Town car wire wheels.
Please change the oil before you run it any more. That car can be saved.
Oil will be changed for sure. A little run time on the old oil is mainly to make sure all the junk gets back to the pan before changing (and to make sure it runs at all). No sense in getting new oil dirty right away or wasting new oil on an engine that is junk lol.
Glad to see a rescue and hope its not just a toy to chop up into someones dream. I seen the outline and its going to be bagged, and stuff this old man hates to see happen. That said, millions were made and its yours to enjoy. New generation says they are just old cars that no one really cares about. Their right as we are too old to get out and find this stuff as I am crippled up, on hospice so many times that death now is just a goal. I owned rigs like this and had my fun so its your turn
I remember these when they were new. They sold very well . Dont know where this is, its certainly not Southern California where I am, Judging by condition. Maybe is all rotted underneath and thats why it was parked. Hopefully not!
Thank you fella! Good vid and bitchen car! 👍👌👍
Power wash!!!
Soon!
Junk.
Runs pretty good 🤷♂️
FE series Fords generally do; they're pretty much bullet proof. The car, however, is beyond restoration.
It could be done, I won't be the one to do it, but maybe someone will 🤣. If not, itll just cruise some as is
