I had this same car except it was gray with a red interior. Mine had had the crap run out of it and it burned as much oil as it did gas. The original shifter was worn out but a new Mr. Gasket shifter fixed that. I only paid $70 for the car when I got it so when I got a $550 trade-in on a new $2,300 Fiat 128SL coupe in 1975, I jumped at it. I would rather have the Galaxie, now though!

Reminds me of my high school girl friend, comfortable and hard to handle

As far as the hood pin holes, why don't you get some of the barrel key locks to put in there to secure it and finish the hole out? I noticed that your car has the kind of rare swing away steering column like mine. I hope that you or the previous owner has done away with the awful offset front lower control arm mount. This is a few hour job that will cost about $80 in parts and will make it drive SO MUCH BETTER. Mine is white with black interior as well. Looks and sounds great! I like the look of the mid level taillight lenses, I may get a set.

@ David Keeton , I don’t understand what you mean about the tail light lenses ?

The lenses have the cast aluminum center piece, but no "fingers" spreading out from that piece and no backup light in the center, just a red lens.

What's the point of owning a car like this and only putting 1300 miles on it in 9 years🤦... Cars are meant to be driven... This is a waste to park it and look at it.

It sounds like it's missing badly or maybe that cam requires high rpm operation. Either way, it probably gets about 5 MPG on treated premium fuel or maybe race-gas ($10/Gal.). I would prefer a milder cam for street driving. My first car was a '64 Galaxie 500 with a 289 (12 MPG Premium gas). Still kicking myself for selling that beauty.
