  • In this 48th Video from Classic Car ChitChat, you will get to see a beautiful 1962 Ford Galaxie 500. Whether you loved Chevy’s or Ford’s this is the Iconic & Legendary Ford that every Ford Lover wanted whether it be the hard top or the convertible. This beautiful car with its long sweeping design is sought after by so many car lovers. Whether you plan to do a Galaxie Burnout, a Galaxie lowrider or just listen to the awesome engine on its twin exhaust pipes - This car has it all! The owner has had it for over 30 years and restored her over time with an incredible paint color of Coronation White!
In case you are keeping Track this is Episode 48 of Classic Car ChitChat Videos!
I hope my Classic Car ChitChat video’s make you smile. I do them in my spare time because I truly love cars and my intentions are simply to honour the beautiful cars I get to see and to really understand the passion and love of the vehicle by the driver (or caretaker as Jay Leno would say) of the car. I also understand too that my videos perhaps lack the polish calibre of great TH-camrs like: Doug DeMuro, Scotty Kilmer, and of course my favourite Supercar Blondie. I also know that I can’t even come close the quality & finish you get from the likes of Jeremy Clarkson and the boys at Top Gear. I think they use a little fancier equipment than my little iPhone… LOL
    Mission Statement:
My Objective through creating these videos is to shine the spotlight on people who love their vehicles whether it be a car, motorcycle, or even a bicycle…. Bottom line is if it has wheels and you love it then let’s show that passion to the world!
    Equipment Used:
Camera - Just an iPhone SE (Nothing fancy - which proves anyone can use whatever you have handy to make a video… you don’t need really expensive equipment)
Gimbal - DJI OM4 - For that ultra-smooth cinematic look. (To be honest... still not quite sure how to use it but one day I will figure it out!)
Audio - Rode Wireless GO II (I gotta be honest… this is really the biggest investment that was made… I wish there was a cheaper option but after the first couple of videos I soon realized that audio quality is important and hopefully better than the onboard mic on the iPhone!

If you have read this far, then I thank you. As always, I truly appreciate your “thumbs-up”, and by leaving your comments it demonstrates to me that I managed to get you involved and hopefully made you smile. Most importantly when you subscribe to my channel then you are truly acknowledging my effort to help share with others like you my passion and love for “all things that have wheels” and honouring the people who take care of them.
    Thank You
    Kevin

This car looks just as good today as it did in 62. What a fantastic example of a true Classic car. Love the videos and the stories.

I have a 63.5 Ford Galaxie 500 with 40,000 original miles. The whole car is original and all the things we take for granted today were all optional back then. Mine has no power steering or power brakes, no outside rear view mirrors. I added a driver side rear view mirror. It has the 352 V8 2 barrel carb. Dual exhausts and sounds great. raven black color shines like a mirror.

First of all thank you so very much James for watching my videos and subscribing to my channel. My intention is to showcase the car and also allow the owner of the car (the caretaker as Jay Leno rightly says) the opportunity to share their story, love and passion for their car. The Galaxie is truly an iconic car and the fact you have one with such little miles on her is incredible. I would love to see a photo of her in the black colour.

Donald, First of all thank you so very much for watching my videos and subscribing to my channel I truly appreciate it. My intention for the videos is to allow "ordinary" people who love cars an opportunity to speak about their car and why that car means so much to them. Yes you would definitely have seen this beauty there.

It's so nice to see classic sedans! I was born in 1974 and came home from the hospital in my father's 1964 4 - door galaxie 500. I drove the car in High school and still own it today. I plan to pass it on to my son. For his rear valance where the paint is wore off he can use vinyl pin striping and carefully place it in the grooves. That's what I did on mine for the 64.

You are indeed so fortunate to have kept such a beautiful car in the family and driving her still with plans for her to be passed down to future generations.

I also have 62 Galaxie 4 door sedan with a 352 that I have had for 38 years and it has been my extended Family for an additional 12 years here in North Carolina. My Great Aunt, the second owner, sold it to me in 1984 for $50.00 (best $50 bucks I ever spent)
Mine, believe it or not, was also repainted, Chevrolet Corvette white. It was the same Corinthian White originally that Chris' Galaxie was. I had it painted and reupholstered as a 16 year old and I wanted that eye catching bright white. I was really happy to see that someone else must have had the same thoughts? It was my first car and I will never part with it. I am curious to know what type of mufflers Chris is using. I currently have dual glass packs and I am getting ready to try something else. I am also considering the 4 bbl upgrade as well. Would love to post a pic of it for you although I don't think it will allow me to do so on TH-cam comments?? Thanks for the cool video it was like watching my car's long lost cousin. 😀

Stance is dialed! The biggest issue with cars that look so good like this is not being able to see it from the outside while driving it 😤

@@ClassicCarChitChat yes sir! I actually just dropped a 390 fe 4bbl in my 62 galaxie 4 door earlier today, and should have it running Friday, so I’m getting it ready for a full restoration. Those badges are something I’m dreading!

I actually forgot about the Ford "Shield". Growing up in Dearborn MI, my parents had a 61 to 63 Galaxie & 2 red Ford Station Wagons. 55 years later, all I remember is the Blue Oval. TIME FLIES.

@@adrianmonk4440 I’m only 19 so I grew up with the ford oval. But, seeing these old logos really bring a whole new meaning to automotive history. Those 3 lions on the hubcaps or in the shield logo mean something… in fact, somewhere I read something where someone excavated a really, and I mean really old, British piece of jewelry or something, and it just so happens to have the same exact logo as the galaxie. It was a royalty symbol!
