For those worried about the battery issues, it only affects the Trophy models with the DESS battery. I've had a few problems with mine and Renault have said there is absolutely nothing wrong (despite me being left stranded). It's a very weak battery (only 19Ah) and will drain whilst washing the car and opening/closing the doors numerous times. It's worth noting there IS a firmware update that should be applied which apparently changes the charging cycle - get your dealer to check this has been applied. Personally, it did nothing for me. Drive it at least once a week, don't sit with the radio on or boot/doors open for more than 10 minutes and you can live with it. I got a CTEC 3.8 charger to top it up every 6 months or so (don't get the CTEC 5amp - the battery can only take 4amp). With regards to squeaky exhaust - i've had this too. Bloody annoying. I got some high temp WD40 and smothered the flap and it seems to have finally stopped. I think with age the flap gets better too as I believe it likely wears slightly.
My car is more standing in garage and I have replaced battery due to issue that after start, ride and park somewhere doors could not be open! Fortunately price for new stronger battery was 50Euro so not expensive.
Absolutely! Granted I've seen some VERY unlucky people with these... Problem after problem it would seem, but like you say if they was looked after the way it should be then the issues would be few and far between
This is a great video if you own ars 300 coming up to warranty an I have proved it mentioned to renault to check the rear shocks for leak s on my first warranty service at 8500 klm an shore enough they need to be replaced for free under warranty down here in Australia so thanks ash

There will only be an issue with warranty/recalls if the part thats faulty us directly linked to being modified i.e they wouldn't replace my shocks because its lowered... yo brother love your videos.In regards to the fuel pump sensor i think it is the problem i currently have.That is that sometimes when i fill up my tank full with petrol it shows 410kilometers left and sometimes with full tank it shows 650km.I will confirm it with Renault on monday.

I wouldn't worry too much as there isn't alot that can be done until failure... Have the battery tested of course like i did but it came back with no faults so there wasn't anything that could prevented as such
Engine Oil leak and fuel pump . Both failed in my rs 280 2019. It is 45000 km now. Very sensitive car. The fuel pump caused the car to totally shutdown in the middle of the road.

@@davidsanderson2960 thanks dude! Appreciate you checking out the content! And it's not problem man, ask away! I removed the diffuser to paint the inner part as didn't want to risk any overspray. Took the diffuser off, and the metal insert out and painted it off the car
My manual Trophy just had to have a new gearbox fitted. As like with the mk3 gearbox fault, one of the bearings failed. Also had one of the selector forks snap inside. £2.5k just for a box if you don't get it done under warranty!!!! So get that checked

@@johnboy2436 noticed a whine developing over the course of about a week which must have been the bearing failing. Only once had issues with it going into 1st gear (was just after the whine had started), this was straight after starting up one morning. Eventually did manage to get it into 1st so don't know if this was when the selector broke.
Hey i recently bought a Megane R.S 280 and the thing u mention in the final of the video about the exhaust, is it possible it onle does this in gear 1 and 2 ? The sound had me a bit worried but at the Renault dealer here they couldnt find what it was?
@@VersionOneUK thanks for the reply, Just looking into it for my son, he bought it without seeing the history so I did a check with Renault and turns out no service since June 22 and this is when it had the work done. Advised him to try get his money back as sold with full service history and who knows what damaged has been caused with 2 yr old oil, last year of warranty is void so hopefully whatever caused the failure has was found and rectified not just slapped new gear on

@@VersionOneUK update on my R/S it’s going in this Saturday fuel pump is being replaced as per the recall and they are having a look for anything else all covered by warranty and renewing warranty for another year with Renault and thank you for the video never would have known about the recall 👍🏻👍🏻

😂😂 back up car is always advisable in life generally... But saying this, I've had no issues besides a recall that was done for free and i had to replace the battery... Thats it. Running 340bhp with numerous mods, driven daily... Theres horror stories with most cars mate, you just see them more because they're the loudest
@@VersionOneUK 😂the reason why I am asking that is because someone from this other video which I was watching mentioned a gearbox issue and how he had to get it replaced, but the issue was caused by the car hitting something,but luckily his ensurer covered it,the amount which u heard was insane and frightening 😭because I'm looking at if I want to run the car beyond warranty,let's say beyond 150k kilometers will it still be safe,even if u take really good care of it.Minor things like your batteries are understandable things, I'm very much scared of a transmission fault 😭
I have rs 300 trophy manual gear box. I have issue with some noise when are windows down like stone on tire when i steering left or right very annoying,somebody have same problem?
Do you still have the issue? Did you figure it out? I have a Trophy-R and I have the same issue. It's more like a clicking sound though. But only when steering right and driving slowly. At least it's only hearable when driving slowly. It also appears only after having driven for a while, not when the car is cold. It seems more noticeable in hot weather generally. The car ia still under warranty and I have taken videos of the issue but I guess it's gonna be hard for Renault to figure out the issue if it's not always there.
Fair enough mate! Its alot of car, I've always liked them! Slower than the megane in every way and make sure you have warranty! Apparently have some early teething issues

Every car has their weak points, as long as it’s covered under warranty and regularly checked then there shouldn’t be any problems out on the road

My alternator packed up after 35k miles. 2018, 280 Cup. New ones are £1200 and are not in stock anywhere in the UK. Something to add to your list.

I also had a broken alternator with a 280 cup from 2018. It was replaced within a day under waranty by Renault
Mine had battery failure and was covered no issues with warranty.
Exaust squeak I had and and whole part was replaced under warranty but probably it will return!
Yeah the exhaust issue just comes back mate... just spray the valve with some high temp lubricant every so often and it'll never come back 👌

how did this happen? Did you money shift it? You cant of been just driving along normally one day and the gearbox blown and selector snaps.

The 280 doesn't come with the valved exhaust mate so it shouldn't make any noise at all
Turbo and inlet manifold replaced at 14k, no idea what caused the failure.
Any idea if this would ve a recurring issue?
