  • Did you know that around 15% of the population experience symptoms diagnosed as irritable bowel syndrome, or IBS?
IBS is a term used to describe a set of symptoms, rather than describe a cause. It's a biopsychosocial condition, which means the symptoms may have a biological, psychological and/or social cause.
Symptoms that may lead to a diagnosis of IBS include abdominal pain, bloating, stomach cramps, constipation and diarrhoea. It's important to note that IBS is a diagnosis of exclusion and that an investigation of the root cause may result in treatment and resolution for some.
@the_health_psychologist has shared some great content about IBS in relation to the nervous system, diet and food tolerances and endometriosis. Be sure to check it out.
Molly's next reel will go into more detail on how IBS and UTI may be connected. In the meantime, share your experience in the comments.
