    So much of living with spine injury relates directly to who you were before being injured. You’re fit, slim, and athletic now because you were before injury. I’ve told many overweight newly injured people that unless they take control of their bodies with blistering speed and precision, they can plan on living a much much harder and shorter life.

    As someone who also has no core control, serious respect for that balance. I am t4:5 and often feel like my back is so curved, often fall etc. Also, serious respect for the work you’ve put into your arms/shoulders, it definì shows. As a newly injured person I appreciate the videos.

      Thank you for the compliments :) Lots of time spent in rehab learning how to do these things

    You could consider nearly endless short clips on wheelchair skills and info. Years ago I reached out to a girl on instagram and suggested she’d NEVER wheelie well with her chairs center of gravity. She had no idea what I spoke of. I sent her a few videos on adjusting it, and how to learn the most basic wheelchair control. I’d say I’m exceptionally skilled at the wheelie and overall, always have been. Some people just do it, get it from the start, and others struggle to learn, while some never take the wheelie bars/anti tips off. It’s such a limiting concern and I really promote knowing your chair and how to control it. Going up escalators, up and down stairs, traversing grass or gravel, using the proper tires for your targeted terrain, adjusting the chairs COG (center of gravity) 24” vs 26” wheels, different caster sizes and styles, etc etc. Would you ever consider including clips others submit that go along with your topic? Maybe a few different body types with different chairs and different ways of doing things to broaden who your content basically applies to? Meaning you’re a young slim seemingly strong woman with a chest down injury and surely an older heavier man with a lower level injury can and would have to do things differently. Sorry to totally blow up your comments section!! You’re welcome to email me if you’d prefer... Rackemwells@yahoo.com Obviously I talk a lot and love wheelchair stuff!

      Pro Tips For Paras Yes yes yes!! I’m always around and look forward to hearing from you. I was cruising through your RAD site last night actually. Expensive wheelchair stuff?? Nah, not in my experiences at all. Doesn’t everybody who’s life is tossed upside down have like $10k sitting around for their new rolling legs?

    I am a T5 paraplegic too , and I would like to learn the skill to get back in chair if you fall in the ground ... I can somehow manage it but like to know and learn from your technique since you
    Are also high-level paraplegic thanks.

      JAYDEEP CHOWDHURY I HATED the way my physical therapist taught me and can safely assume you were likely taught methods that’s don’t work so well for you either. I hope Pro Tips helps ya out, I’m T11 and suspect my method isn’t so feasible for a person with a higher level of injury.

      The floor to chair transfer was not something I learnt in rehab. It was something that was scary, or didn't make sense, or I didn't believe I was capable of doing... who knows?! Until year no.4 when it became a thing that I could do most of the time without hesitation. Probably mostly in part to the strength that I gained as I trained towards a wheelchair bodybuilding competition in June 2019.
      ...but yes, video 100!

    I'm sorry, what does your spine have to do with muscles keeping you upright?

    • @ProTipsForParas
      @ProTipsForParas  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It is not always muscle that keep someone/something upright. A lamp balances because of the physics, the same way a skeleton can

    I'm not sure I understand. No function below your chest, but I see abdominal muscle activity, please explain

      Responses to stretching, and probably my past and present with the gym. Who knows...it is only the doctors that say I am a complete injury.
