    While I was in physio...they taught me I always needed to learn how to transfer from different angles and positions.

    Damn you make it look easy. I know it’s not. I can’t walk and chew gum at the same time .....or rathe roll and chew gum. But I can go up, or I can go over. So I still use a transfer board.

    My PT called this the "Head-butt" principle... I usually reverse those two 😄. Basically, when you are centered over your feet, your butt goes in the opposite direction from your head. Head goes down, butt goes up. Head goes right, butt goes left.

      exactly... but as one who was not as familiar with the physics of this right after injury I usually relied on strength. In the past two years I have more functional movements

    Having an adjusting, folding backrest, I’d suggest trying ADI’s fixed hardware. I’d say the fixed mounts and clamps are 75% lighter than the hardware you have. Unless you have removable back hardware for a pretty specific reason, and remove it, I think the weights savings will be very welcome.

      YES! I'll have to go in and get that! On the list...

      Pro Tips For Paras The list... endless hoops the system wants a paraplegic to jump through?!? I have a list and no easy way to accomplish completing items on it.

    Hi! I am waiting for a video with a guide to sports exercises that you do to maintain health and what equipment you use to warm up the body. Thank you for the video. 💪😜🤘

      This will be something to accomplish when I finally get to take a vacation at the end of the next couple weeks.

    What do you suggest for someone who uses a transfer board for safety reasons and wanting to transfer without?

    • @ProTipsForParas
      @ProTipsForParas  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Practice. I have to wait for my strength to build again before I was able to transfer without. And now that I know some more of the technique (physics) of the manoeuvres it makes them easier when things are in pain +/or broken

      Not really. Sometimes defeated, but never pity. I jumped off the bridge, I was not pushed.
