    I’m having some health issues with my joints, but we had a family trip planned for New York City. This th-cam.com/users/postUgkxuxJwamLFanm476LC5WPeTouyyU1GXomC was perfect! It’s lightweight enough that my friend could carry it up or down stairs when we needed to. (I can walk very short distances) It was comfortable for me to sit in, I would say if you’re super tall it might be a little cramped. I’m 5’1” and the foot rests were the perfect height. This may not be the best one for long term use, you get what you pay for, but for something that fits our budget that gives me accessibility while we deal with my health this was amazing.

    You have an amazing personality. Wow! You know what: it's not about the legs or the arms or anything physical. It's all about the inner power. i feel that you can move mountains. You are a huge inspiration to those who feel that they are physically at a disadvantage. Good job.

    Wow you have great strength! I lost use of left leg in January do to bone cancer that spread from my breast cancer. So far I haven’t tried driving. Even showering scares me sometimes. I am so afraid of falling and injuring myself and not being able to get back up. I really loved your videos about hotels! Very eye opening. Like you I work from home so at least I haven’t lost that part of my life. I have an extra walker if you still need one. I can ship to Canada. Let me know.

    Valuable information that you share. Rehab in my area was a joke so I glean a lot of information from you. Getting in my chair seems to be impossible to accomplish. I am 6‘4“ and around 230 I guess. Prior to injury I was very athletic and now I feel defeated because I cannot get in my chair. Just babbling but it feels good to get that off my chest

Any time I do a transfer from the floor to my chair I tend to do it barefoot and I often end up with cuts to my feet due to having no feeling in my feet. Just great! Could you speak- show also about the sensation issues of a person with a s.c.i.,, (well i think that i have asked this before) but i do it again cause i saw you in this video and i was wondering due to the a lot of surfaces that i see that you touch. How-what you feel ? is it any dangerous for your skin? Also what are you doing to prevent skin injuries, sores? Maybe the idea of this 'tickle test' as you said is a very good idea to explain some misconcepts about s.c.i... Any way i will not say again GO ON cause i am sure that you will do it hahaha!

    • @ProTipsForParas
      @ProTipsForParas  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Some people have better skin resiliency than others.
      Mine is good so far. I don't have too much concern sitting on the floor like this, for a short amount of time on a vinyl tile. But I am learning my limits.
      I carry an air cushion most of the time when I travel and on long road trips.

    • @keyup2626
      @keyup2626 5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Pressure sores suck, the best way to avoid them is shifting your weight in your chair constantly if you can.
      Sometimes it doesn’t matter what you do it happens, especially when you don’t have feeling in that area.
      I’ve found Roho cushions to be the best to help avoid them.

    Hey, thanks: the tip to spite and wetten the feet l didn't know! But l know a 2. tip: throw out you T-shirt and pull it around your legs near to the knees, over them. So you care thatethey don't clapp right and left but stay together. Then you've got more power to move your butt into the chair! And a 3:: you can put your cushion under your butt to highten it up. Then it's not so much, here 3 inches less, to the wheelchair. When you sit again, you put your cushion into your hands and put the cussion inch for inch under your butt onto the seat of the chair! Love your being and, twice: thank you for the tips! Yours, Conny

    • @annettevillain4352
      @annettevillain4352 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, the cushion under butt is what I did. But I don't have the strength in my arms anymore to lift off floor.

    • @ConnyNordlicht
      @ConnyNordlicht 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@annettevillain4352 I put a rope into a hook on the ceiling inemiddle of any room so it can help me to get up. I can't do anything where l have to lift up. So l need 2 cushions and i lft up only my left OR my right butt! Very good are books to put under your butt, too! And l have a plastic - kag always under my wheelchair- cushion fo if l have to lift up. My rope is a flexible gymnastic - band which helps me to lift up. I made knots in 2 of them so that it touches the flor. These ropes help me to go up in every room at home! And 1 band l always have in my chair to use if l fall out outside home. put it around anything: wheel, doorhandle etc to help you. I don't have power in shoulders, hands nor fingers. No knee that really helps. so l put a band around my upper legs with velcro (under my seat always prepaired) which helps my legs not to fall right and /eft but keep together! Try! It may help you, too!

    After a fall, we need to do a complete survey. Fix this.
    Little Giant has superb four step step ladder, perfectly balanced, doesn’t slip. Keep it open to use as a bedside assist, for plants and books.
    Last episode, I couldn’t lift to sit on that bottom step. Bed was there, but nothing to hold on to. Got up eventually, with perfect resolve.
    Resolved…make a wooden inclined plane to use to butt skootch to bottom step. AmaMonster calls it a slant board for calf exercise.
    I call it, overpriced.
    Make it when you have materials and tools out. Before that, use thick cardboard, doubled,
    gorilla tape, use scraps to reinforce, could be stuff you’d use for kindling.
    Use dollar store rubberized shelf paper to keep from slipping and give handgrip.
    Then, I got a D Ring to attach to the window frame. Less than twenty dollars at Menards for a tow strap. It’s like a web belt, like web strap on a duffel bag,
    Think before installing, don’t trip on it or block a door…think. Helps that it safety fluorescent color.
    With your ample seating, you’d be able to hide things behind the couch. Figure out something with a triangle grip, something like water skiers use.
    Wheelchairs should be intuitive. Says…"oh no, not again! " With that, gives you a butt skootch ramp.
