One of the biggest mistakes in my little paralyzed quad life is purchasing a mattress without the ribbing to pull myself up on. Instead I lick my fingers to get a grip and pull on the sheets. Sometimes, lying on my side b/c I'm a side-side sleeper, I get a grip with my arm under my top most folded knee - lift it up and pull back and forth a couple of times with my other hand under the other folded knee, and on the third back and forth follow myself up to a seated position, at the same time kind of pulling on that other hand. Guess I oughta make a video... Another comment mentioned owning no jeans. Good for you, I don't either! People at my job get so overwhelmed because they can wear jeans on Friday and kind of wonder when I explain I own no jeans :). Been sitting 41 years, standing 18. Thanks for your videos because it evens helps us para/quad veterans too.
Oow! An other interesting and wonderfull video.. By the way, have a nice and happy new Year , amazing Tanelle!! I would like also to ask you if you could make any video speaking and showing about sansation, maybe doing something like a sansation test or whatever and speak how/where/what it feels or not..It may sounds stupid or wierd but i think that it is obvious that many people usually misundestand this part of paralysis.. At any case dont stop and keep on with this smile! Oh and again : Happy new Year!
This is a great request! Thank you and I will make sure to get into the tickle-prick test that all paraplegics & quadriplegics have to experience (usually many times over). Happy 2020 to you as well!
I often put pants on while on the floor. I slide them on for the most part and then sort of pin the butt of the pants down with my hands and shift my entire body sliding my legs into them. So the pants slide to a certain point then remain stationary while I slide. It’s only very useful for me when it’s jeans or non stretchy fabric.
After getting my stoma, sweat pants are a necessity. Jeans just don't work very well for me anymore. It's been almost 38 years in the chair, but your videos are still very helpful in my ever changing word. Thanks for the tips.
You’re so blessed because you’re thin. That’s such a blessing when you’re disabled. I was told by my therapist that most people in wheelchairs are over weight because they don’t burn as calories like people who can walk do. You did such a great job. You put your pants on faster than most people I know
Great! I use pulovers etc 2 sises over that l need for my weight, too, cauz of my "frozen shoulders"! They hurt so much and l can't move them high and down…so this is very practible for me. It wdrks, like pants, too! Thanks for showing us! Happy and blessed New Year!
I buy my jeans two sizes too big to cover my legs during the winter. They are also easier to put on. I do use a grabber to pull them part way up then use my hands to finish. I am able to stand with some support. I wish I was as flexible as you, I'm an old guy that lost my six pack abs along time ago. It's more like a keg now!

Happy New Year! I absolutely understand the shoulder pain. Thanks for mentioning the larger shirts to help this out.

Thanks for taking the time to explain the different ways of doing this! I am very fortunate for my flexibility.
Good job

I always put my pants/shorts on in my chair. Doing such in a bed is waaaaay too much work for me. Of course we're all different. :)
I grew out of putting on clothing in bed not too long into the injury. Some videos to come will show the progression to dressing in the chair.
Curious. I have been a paraplegic for 20 years and I always get dressed on the bed. I find putting pants on in my chair much more difficult.
cool video!!!
Thanks Boss!
Keeping everything inside 💩 😂
