Wow, 8 patients is a lot. I worked in a Med-Surge unit in Tx and we only had up to 5 patients and sometimes we were nurse extenders which was great. I loved working in Med-Surge because of the skills you learn. We even drew the labs and did the cultures. I miss my 3 days on 4 days off, currently working 8s at the VA. I think every nurse should experience a med- surge floor.
Your so right 8 is a lot 🫠. However like you said this is where you can learn and gain so much knowledge. I always have to mentally prepare myself before coming in cause you never know what your walking into. I love the 3 days on as well….. how is the VA?? 🩺🩺
So glad LPNs are in the hospitals again. I’m in an LPN program and our first clinical was on a med surg floor in a hospital No nursing homes in my program 🙏🏽🙏🏽
Yes for sure…..💉🦋 I do agree with you. And it’s also nice to float to various amounts of settings to give people a better idea of the type of nursing available to LPNs
Start my LPN school in January been procrastinating for many years😂 due to smells. But now that I take care of my mom & I know I’m capable🙏🏽🙌🏽 I’m currently a Inpatient coder been for over 14yrs, n im just burned out… My passion since HS was to always be a nurse, but never was able to get use to the smells. Love your videos keep up the good work💯💃🏽🙏🏽🙌🏽
Hey Nurse Tee 👋🏿❤️ I was so excited to get that notification! I can stomach mostly everything. I thought the strong smells from urine and feces would bother me in LTC but it really didn't.
@@IAMHER_NurseTee I hate ostomy bags 😩😱 the smell is insane when you open/change it lol !! Will you do another video on good AGENCIES to travel with ??
Hey Nurse Tee 👋🏾 I’m glad to see another video from you. I really miss seeing you. I can tolerate any smell but the only smell that turns my insides is C-diff. I had a resident that suffered from it before he passed away.
i love your videos as always!! can you talk about how you can work 1 full time job and also do contracts and do agency on the side and what would your schedule look like. How do you fit it all in?
Hey girl! Thanks for giving us a glimpse of your Med Surg nursing experiences. Keep them coming lol. I am a LPN as well and start my ED position early next month. I am hella nervous, yet excited to learn more. I am mostly coming from pediatrics and addictions nursing, so it’ll definitely be a change. I think I am most nervous about starting IVs, how do you feel you do with that?
Yessssss that’s definitely exciting have confidence in what ever you do. It’s such a great learning experience so don’t be afraid to speak up of where you lack. I honestly feel that working medsurg has expanded my knowledge and skills. I love placing IVs now 🤣💉🦋 wasn’t so confident with them before. Good luck to you in ED.
@@IAMHER_NurseTee Awww thanks for your kind words of encouragement girl, greatly appreciated! Pray for a fellow nurse, will ya? Lol. I need to get these IVs down, amongst these ER meds. I’m sure I’ll be fine, with God’s grace. Let’s keep being a blessing to others!!
Tbh i dont think there’s anything i cant stomach 😂 i was a Pct before i was a nurse and i think when i started it was poop but i got over that in like a week😂😂
So the other day I was changing this wound and soon as I took the dressing off Pus just started flowing like really flowing OMFG!!!!! I cringed I wanted to scream 🤣 so now I believe that is the one for me. But watch old people eat now that’s funny lol your silly
Yes they do 🦋💉 however you still have a few that will try it…. I feel like that comes with being a LPN. But that’s when you try it to and show them what you know😉

That water is amazing!
Yessss so refreshing
Nurse Tee…. It’s 🦶 for ME!! With the thick toenails and the pilling dry skin.
😂not the dry flaky skin…..
Ooohhh I need to try the vanilla bean creamer, I saw it the other day and was like interesting and proceeded to pick up the French vanilla lol 😂
It’s perfect lol

I’m a sitter and I once saw an RT suctioning mucus. 🥴 I could only look for a couple seconds because that made me want to vomit.🤢😅
Lol that is stomach turning 🫠🤣
Im a wound care nurse I cannot stomach when someone is coughing up flem or the sound of their throats full of it. I also cannot watch old people eat 😅
So the other day I was changing this wound and soon as I took the dressing off Pus just started flowing like really flowing OMFG!!!!! I cringed I wanted to scream 🤣 so now I believe that is the one for me. But watch old people eat now that’s funny lol your silly
I can’t stomach BM or vomiting . It’s crazy because I was a CNA before becoming a nurse lol, and it never bothered me.
I can relate 💉😅
Hey 👋🏽 I’m an Lpn and I was considering going to the hospital to work. Do they treat you like an nurse when working in this setting?
Yes they do 🦋💉 however you still have a few that will try it…. I feel like that comes with being a LPN. But that’s when you try it to and show them what you know😉
As an agency nurse did they train you?
3 days for travel
@@IAMHER_NurseTee how long after obtaining your license did you start traveling?
8 patients??? Naw, they tripping FRFR

@@IAMHER_NurseTee is that the normal ratio?
@@DevTheDudeRN usually 6 however on days like this it’s 8 I just go with it…… so unpredictable 💉🫠
