We decorated white bags to use for Valentine's yesterday too! First year trying them. Feel better soon, Katie! ❤
White bags are so simple but the kids still have so much fun! I usually let them have free rein and just be creative! ♥️
I know I've mentioned this on a previous video of yours, but I'm so thankful that you share as much as you do! I have been totally stuck on what to do for poetry and your ideas sound fun and at least give me a starting point. I'm sorry you're feeling under the weather, I hope you feel better soon! We use Newline boards at our school. Definitely a learning curve, I still don't know everything my board can do. There are some Newline videos on TH-cam that have helped. Hope you feel better soon!

Interesting about your intern/student teacher. I've had many and each one was awesome in their own way. I did have one leave, and in her case, she figured out that teaching was too hard. The other ones all went onto teaching careers and are doing great.

Do you use the little button on your smart board that looks like a computer screen with a pen so you can draw on your slides? Or the one with the pen icon only? The one with the pen and computer is so you can annotate. The one that looks like a pen is whiteboard mode. Edit: I saw in your last video that the pen says newline so I know it is a newline like I have in my classroom 😊
Where is your striped sweater from? I love it. Your videos always give me great ideas to try with my students!
I got it from old navy but it was a couple years ago

Have you taught Main Idea? I can’t remember. If so, can you share how you got your students to be able to identify the main idea in the passage bc my students are really struggling. I really don’t know how to make any easier than what I’ve been doing. I also have a low group this year.
In our Florida standards they call it "Central Idea"... I taught it once back in the fall and will teach it again in the next 3-4 weeks. Do you have a good graphic organizer for it? Try finding an informational text about something your students are super into because that helps keep them engaged! I'll try to share more when I get to that skill again...
