    I own a 2014 which I bought new. It has 18,000 miles on it and it is fantastic! I have ridden the new model and was impressed with the new amounts of power. The styling, and fit/finish has been upgraded on the newer models. The Speedy is just a great all around bike, I have put bags on it and ridden 1,000 miles away and been comfortable, simply love them.

    Bought a 2019 speedy 2 weeks ago....first thing l fitted was a nice evo tech tail tidy, crash bungs, radiator and oil cooler guards+ fender extender (a must) and a sv motech centre stand got rid of those ugly exhausts for a little carbon gp motech system....different bike now

    Bought the exact same bike two weeks ago. Upgraded from my 2005 Speedie. I agree with the "distinguished gentlemans hoon bike" comment. I would also add, it rides like a Street Triple with the extra torque. I'm fitting SC Project cans. It is a brilliant machine, I consider myself very fortunate to own one.

      unreal! did you try anything else before settling on the Speedy? S1000? MT10?

      Do you need to remap the fueling for the SC exhaust?

    Great vid ! 👍Actually, I've just treat myself with a 2017 1050S with a mere... 1402 miles on the dash. She comes directly from a collector and has done every service needed every single year, so it is fair to say that she is mint. Sherry on the cake : she's got the Arrow exhaust. Will keep you posted about my ride. Stay frosty and safe ride all

    I have recently taken the 2016 model Speed Triple out for a demo and can say it's at the top of my list to buy. It just does everything really well. Ok, yes you can get faster bikes, better bikes for touring, lighter bikes for flick ability but not by much in each case. It is simply awesome but I would only get the 2016 model and it would be the 'R'.

      I hear ya dude - on the road it doesn't matter if it makes the most power or not... what's awesome about the Speedy is how smooth and refined it is, yet still crazy fast when you want it to be. The best of both worlds. I loved it.

      The R version feels like you're sitting on a plank. If you're not going to track it, S model is the way to go

    Nice review, I traded up from an 05 Speed to 16 S late last year and was blown away by the improvements made by Triumph over that decade.
    The S is a much more accomplished machine, faster, torqu-ier, better suspended and brakes plus it has the modes of course. And while still a sexy looing bike (esp in Red) its not the looker that the '05-10 model is, in my opinion. Although still better now than the Dame Edna Everidge period that I'm glad I missed. The earlier model also wins on the pops and crackles during decelleration and that it has a rawness that is now smoothed out.
    However I'm not missing the very hard front suspension, I took my S on a road that rattled my fillings loose when on the old girl. It was so bad that I could barely see where the corners were, let alone read the clocks. The S floated over that stretch almost like it was newly paved and that was a revelation. I've read that the R (which has the added bling) continues with firmer suspension using Ohlins but I suspect my S is a better choice for the road, rather than track. Having only done approx 1,000 mile I'm keen to see if my high technical regard turns into love this summer ha ha.
    To kick off the season I've had 45 minutes on the new RS on Triumph's Demo day. The pegs are higher still, affecting my old hips until I moulded into it but even on a short test I can see that this is an even sharper machine. More power and performance in Normal mode than my S in Sport mode - what a beast!! A lovely bike and maybe something for me to look forward to but Triumph really needs to address its dull choice of paint schemes and design.
    Or maybe I skip the RS and wait for the 1200 version that I hope is already in development.

      have you read about the new Speed Twin? that has the 1200 engine you're looking for and is apparently quite a sporty ride, but also a comfy ride

    • @S1000xrhp
      @S1000xrhp 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@WeNeedASaga Yeah, that was my steed for the second test ride. Really easy to ride and very comfortable with a tourqey engine but it's in a much lower state of tune.
      But if Triumph really go chasing the Tuono and s1000r, I wouldnt say no to having the speed twin as the 'easy to get on' bike for pooling around. Imagine having both Speeds in twin and triple configuration mmmmmm 😊

    Nice review mate. I've got my eye on a secondhand one of these bad boys down here in Vic. Hope you start to make a few more reviews soon as you've been pretty quiet on here lately. Cheers from sunny Melbourne.

    very nice. I think I may just need to try one of these. Currently own a Street Triple R, so looks like a suitable upgrade. Either that or perhaps the 765 RS Street.

    You took the words out of my mouth ... brilliant review .. only thing I would add .. The 2016 Speed Triple uses less petrol than my Z1000 .. also tyres seem to last 3 times longer ...

    Being a bigger bike, does it feel a bit beefy and hard to manoeuvre? And if you had to choose between this and say the street triple 675 or newer 765, which would you choose? (Say money is no object in this scenario).

    • @WeNeedASaga
      @WeNeedASaga  7 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      TheZallene the Speed Triple definitely feels bigger and heavier than the Street when stationary but the weight disappears when you get moving. If I had to choose one (money no object), I'd choose the Speed Triple. The extra power and torque over the Street Triple is just so addictive.

      @WeNeedASaga  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Guy Danza yeah good q - the Speed Triple isna bit more chilled and easy to live with. it's plenty torquey as well, which is great for road riding. the Aprilia is more racey all round but still fine for the road. Hope that helps.
