    Thanks for this review. Currently looking for a middle weight naked bike and have ridden this bike on track as a hire bike and its currently my go to bike for the 1st test ride. listening to your review i don't think i will be disappointed. I believe in 2020 there is now an even newer bike with more upgrades and more power so should be interesting.

    Triumph has really stepped it up with this bike!
    Definetly on my test ride list. It would be an amazing upgrade from the 07!!!
    And all the goodies on it too! Omg! :O

    After my experience with the 675, I don't know wether I'd buy one... However, if the 675 is anything to base it off, its gonna be an amazing ride!

      Twitchel AU your experience? have you had a few problems? do you mind sharing? (could be good for prospective buyers)

    • @DirtyWeekendsAway
      @DirtyWeekendsAway 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      my experience being that I fuck it up quite often, and when I need parts for it it's a 3 week wait minimum... hahaha. The bike itself is amazing though. only niggle, the engine gets rather noisy one you've got a few KMs on it. it's got a real rattle to it now after 25000km, which my mechanic assures me is normal

    I really like the mt 09, especially the new version, but I was kind of surprised you didn’t grasp yourself a hold over street triple 675.

  • @1976gerbel
    @1976gerbel 7 ปีที่แล้ว

    I have the 675 from 2016. Last model. The best bike I have had. But I think they have not done themselves a favor with the high pricetag of the newer model. A lot of people will go for the MT09. Luckily I managed to get the old model for a much better price with a lot of extras.

    • @WeNeedASaga
      @WeNeedASaga  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      I agree... I reckon a runout deal on an the last 675's is going to look veeery good over the next few months.

    I've got the r modal on order, loved the rs when I rode it, just couldn't bring myself to pay £10000 for naked middleweight. The extra £1000 over the Mt9 or £300 over z900 (for thr r) was well worth it to me.

    • @WeNeedASaga
      @WeNeedASaga  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      batfink134 congrats on the purchase mate! yeah I reckon the R model is the sweet spot of the range. the RS is gonna be a bit of overkill for most I think...

    If you get a polariser lens filter for the GoPro it will remove the dash information including speed. Check out Smo, he uses it on his reviews and did a vid on the filter lens.

    Great review mate, took one out for a rest ride on Friday on the same route as you, probably the same bike :)
    Awesome bike, I've got a 2009 Triple R and thinking of changing it but I'm torn between the RS and an 899 Panigale, I watched your video about the 899 and was wondering which you'd go for.

    • @WeNeedASaga
      @WeNeedASaga  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      A nice problem to have, choosing between those two :)
      I think it comes down to what I said in the 899 video - be honest with yourself about where you're going to ride it and pick the one that suits your riding habits. The 899 makes more horsepower and if you think you'll value that extra power and a bit more of a race track focus, you'll love the 899. If you intend to do a lot of fast road riding in the winding roads and hit the track occasionally, I think the Street RS is probably the better choice.
      Good luck and let me know how you get on!

    • @davidwood6853
      @davidwood6853 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks for the reply and thanks for the advice.
      If I'm honest I know the RS is the bike for me, I've had a lot of sports bikes overs the years, but when I bought the Triple R I couldn't believe how good it was and the new RS is better in pretty much every way, just wish it wasn't the thick end of $20k
      I've always wanted a Ducati though and the 899 is so beautiful :)

    • @davidwood6853
      @davidwood6853 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      So 4 months after test riding the RS and after a lot of looking around at Panigales and RS's I finally bit the bullet and bought the RS..picked it up today and couldn't be happier.
      Your review convinced me it was worth taking one out for a spin and I was pretty much sold from then on, so thanks for that mate...I've told my misses it's your fault I've ended up spending the kids inheritance , hope you don't mind :)
      Ended up buying from Gosford, went to two Sydney dealers expressing serious interest, left my details and neither rang me back, can you believe that!

  • @NY-fo6fd
    @NY-fo6fd 6 ปีที่แล้ว

    Hey, how would you make your decision between 2016 street triple 675 RX and 2017 MT-09? I know the new triple is fantastic with all the bits added but the price here in my country is over USD$ 20,000, which is insane. Now the used triple 675 price has been dropping and is similar to the used 2017 MT-09 price. As you know, MT-09 is coming with TC, slipper clutch and power modes while triple 675 RX is just basic with a quick shifter, what do you think?

    • @WeNeedASaga
      @WeNeedASaga  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      NY price was the main decision point for me too. I think the Street Triple is as good if not better than the MT09 but not 50% better, so I couldn't justify the extra $$

    • @capoverdepires
      @capoverdepires 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      I own the RX. Buy it. It’s great!

      thanks for watching mate! this video is near Parramatta, which is in western Sydney.
      make sure you take a test on one of these, you won't regret it :)

      @Simonize41 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      WeNeedASaga Haha, Parramatta Eels! St George Illawarra for me.😉Anyway, thanks for answering... great videos and I’ve subbed. TBH it’s between the Triumph, the new Suzuki 750 or the new Kawasaki 900 RS. You ridden the Kawk yet? Take it easy mate.

    • @WeNeedASaga
      @WeNeedASaga  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Oh a rugby league fan! :)
      Yeah I have ridden the Kwaka - search my channel and you'll see a comparison video between the three bikes you listed, plus the MT09. I made that video because lots of people were looking at the same bikes as you are. Hopefully that video helps!

      WeNeedASaga That I am. Castleford Tigers over here. I will mate, I’ll have a look through and take your thoughts and impressions on board; naturally a test ride for myself is key. Thanks bud.👍🏻

  • @mattyoz0
    @mattyoz0 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    $13500 for the mt09 and $18990 for this. I know the street is a better bike but it's not that much better. Plus the mt09 has way more power and torque down low and in the midrange. I'd only buy the triumph if i was doing a bunch of track days each year.

    • @WeNeedASaga
      @WeNeedASaga  7 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Totally agree mate.
      The MT09 is great value... the RS has some nice bits on it but the price tag is eye watering. It'd be a shame if the Street Triple became a niche bike that only a few people are willing to fork out for.

    • @RichJH2050
      @RichJH2050 6 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      I have ridden both, and I must say, they are completely different machines. I see a lot of people comparing them, but im not sure they are that comparable.
      MT09 is more like a supermoto. Torquey, short gearing and a great laugh. It is a great value machine, but the suspension is really terrible, even on the new 2017 model. Way too soft even for road use. Bouncy and spongey. The finish is essentially 95% plastic and with some parts you can tell it has been built to a budget.
      Street Triple screams quality and refinement. Its more like a 600 supersports with the fairings taken off. Long gearing focused on top end power, and although this sounds crap on the streets, ive never had more fun on a test ride.
      You also get the Showa BPF, Ohlins adjustable rear, LCD dash, Brembo M50's, kit you just dont get on the MT09 and in my eyes worth the extra money.
      Test ride both back to back and you will see what I mean. In the UK the price diference is near enough £2k. Less than that if you go for the SP.
      For reference, I currently ride a KTM supermoto, you would have thought I would prefer the MT09, but the Triumph is in a different league completely. What a machine.

    How do you think the rs feels in terms of cornering stability? I have a gsxr600 and it handles great but its nervous almost twitchy in corners. I hope the new streets are not like that.

    • @xorbe2
      @xorbe2 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      You can adjust these things with suspension settings and tires. I love my RS. Sometimes I wish for even more low end torque, but on the flip side it keeps the low revs easy around town with a very smooth and non-snatchy throttle.

    • @WeNeedASaga
      @WeNeedASaga  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Jayden Valentine yeah you're right, the Street Triple is plenty for road. The Tuono is absolutely ballistic but damn it's fun. I think a smart plan for a lot of people would be Striple for a few years, then Tuono if they're feeling brave!
