Welcome back to the Foxhole. They're celebrating 10 years anniversary of the first album and along with this they released a Gimme Chocolate!! challenge on social media. They've been playing this blaster intro during the World Tour 2023/2024. This was the first "Babymetal Death" version with MomoMetal as an official member and it was a come back song after December 2017 iirc. They did Babymetal Death Shin Version at Budokan 2021 but it's a way different version. Btw don't miss out the live version at Legend 1997 in 2013, it's even more shocking and impactful with the theatrical performance and one of the rare time they used it as an ender.✝️ Anyway always remember that we are -NotACult- 🦊🤘💀
The screamo (also the growling) is a backing track and SuMetal is mimicking just like she did the same in some other songs especially from early era, no one is credited, except for certain songs we will tell you about it. Lyrics pretty much are introduction to themselves with a pun intended play on words between death and "desu" which means "I'm" in Japanese and in this context.🦊🤘💀
Great reaction. 🦊🤘 This video was released a couple of months ago to celebrate the 10th anniversary of their first album being released - as you saw, 'BABYMETAL Death' was the first song on that first album. They had not played it live since 2017 because it is an intro song and they are introducing themselves by name, but they couldn't use it with just two official members and the original third member Yuimetal didn't appear at all after October 2017 and officially announced she was leaving the band in October 2018. This performance was on 2nd April 2023 - the first concert with Momometal as an official member, so 'BABYMETAL Death' was back ... I don't know if you heard the crowd cheer particularly loudly when she introduced herself as "Momometal desu". The whole song is based on a pun. The English word death sounds to a Japanese speaker like the Japanese word desu (the U is silent) spoken with a slight lisp. Desu means to be - as in I am, we are, it is etc. Basically the lyrics for this song are: "B_A_B_Y_M_E_T_A_L" ... "I am Su-metal", "I am Moametal", "I am Momometal" "We are BABYMETAL" ... "Death Death Death Death Death Death Death Death". You may want to see the 'Legend 1997' performance where they were celebrating Su-metal's 16th birthday in December 2013. That one was a really special performance. Being an introduction song they would normally play it right at the start of the concerts (it is a great way to get the crowd hyped and joining in straight away), but that was one of the special occasions where they played it later in the show - for that one it was the finale. Oh, Su-metal mimed that scream - that sort of guttural scream is one of the few things she does not do and doing that in this song one of the few times you will see her pretend.
Thanks again from Japan 有難う 💛。 I was there at the venue on April 2, last year and shouted "Death! Death!" numerous time. That is the only occasion when people shout that sinister word happily and smilingly, especially to celebrate rebirth of the band with newly inducted official member, Momometal. That is the reason why the audience's shout is the biggest when "Momometal Death" is voiced. Western (American) Kami Band played in the girls' back. I always appreciate the devoted support like knights by Chris, CJ, Anthony and Clint. They are really unsung heroes.
Very cool!!! You might like to watch the performance of the song (DEATH!) at the closing of the show "Legend 1997", in December/2013 (more than ten years ago!), Su's 16th birthday. Welcome to FoxHole!!! Enjoy BabyMetal!!! 🤘🦊🤘
You should also see the BABYMETAL DEATH at Legend 1997 (with the statue of Mary on the stage) where SU-METAL had her 16th birthday celebration, where she was reborn from a person to a METAL GODDESS! 🔥🤘🦊 From🇯🇵
Super fun reaction thank you! "This is way too good, this is way too good" -- Welcome to #NotACult. Can't wait to see more as you go through their performances! You are in for such a great time.
7:07 "I have not seen someone like demand so much attention just from standing on a stage and just staring " "oh my gosh girls have so much power ". - That's why we call Su-metal Queen. Thanks for your great reaction.
One of the characteristics of BABYMETAL is that it refrains from extreme exposure and does not treat sexuality. While not denying the beauty of the female body, ..... . challenging the METAL world and at the same time challenging the way idols should be ...... MOAMETAL is cool to say that KAWAII is justice!😀🦊🌈
As a Babymetal fan for nearly a decade, that is one thing I've always appreciated. The girls are there to sing and dance and entertain, but never in a sexy or mature way. As a person with many nieces, this has always garnered my respect.
@zilch634 and that's one of the biggest reasons I love BABYMETAL. The girls weren't exploited and sexualized at a young age. They showed off their feminine features while still being appropriate. And in their adulthood they have kept the same style.
Very enjoyable reactions! I also enjoyed watching it. The term and concept of J-POP was proposed by a Japanese radio station in the late 1980s. It is interesting to see how it is now spreading to other countries with different words, such as K-POP and T-POP (Thai pop music).
Thank you for your wonderful comments. It is often said that ``Rock was born in America, grew up in England, and was perfected in Japan.'' Currently, Japan is home to many world-class, traditional rock groups as well as unique, world-class rock groups. Please enjoy the other groups as well. I think you'll be impressed.
Haha, “I think this is going to take over my life!” Welcome to #notacult 🤣. Babymetal loves a pun, Desu (silent u) = I am / We are. Babymetal Desu = We are Babymetal. Say it with a lisp and it sounds like “Babymetal Death”, cuz that’s metal. 🤘 If you want to start with earlier stuff, check out Headbanger from Legend 1997, Su’s 16th bday bash in Dec 2013. This song is quintessential early Babymetal and their classic sound!! 🤘🦊
Great reaction and welcome to the Foxhole🤘🦊♪ Be intoxicated by SU-METAL's singing in Metal Kingdom, which was presented as the opener of the same concert.
Flippin' Eck. Nice one. As already mentioned the Legend 1997 version is well worth a watch, and reaction. From that same Legend 1997 concert, Headbanger. The 1997 referred to in the title is Su-Metals birth year, she was born in December 1997. The concert was in December 2013, the day after her 16th birthday, the other 2 girls (Moametal and Yuimetal) were 14 at the time.
For those who say BABYMETAL is not metal, I present you with BABYMETAL Death.😉 OTFGK, but an interesting take posted on BABYMETAL REDDIT by VulpineDeity: Take it a step farther. Not only does 'SU-METAL DESU' mean she's introducing herself, it's also her super-hero transformation phrase. Like on Sailor Moon, Usagi says 'Moon Prism Power!' and turns into Sailor Moon, Suzuka Nakamoto shouts 'I AM SU-METAL' and becomes possessed by the spirit of the Fox God and transforms into the Metal Goddess SU-METAL. The magical girl who transforms into a hero is a huge trope in Japan, comparable to Disney princesses in the west. BABYMETAL DEATH! follows the trope and it's the moment that they all transform into their magical alter egos at the start of the show. 🦊 🦊 🦊 🖖 ❤
Welcome to FOXHOLE You have fallen into the abyss and there is no escape. Su-metal (Suzuka Nakamoto 26) also known as Queen-Su or simply Su Moametal (Moa Kikuchi 24) Princess Moa or Moa Momometal (Momoko Okasaki 21) Princess Peach (Momo=Peach in Japanese) or Momo Yuimetal (Yui Mitsuno) Princess Tomato or Yui, He retires in 2018 for health reasons. Since 2018, backup dancers were used, they did not sing, until the P.I.A. concert. in 2023, which Momo is officially introduced in this song. #notacult
They opened quite a few shows with 'IN THE NAME OF' and 'Future Metal", both of which were designed to be openers. And there's a long list of other songs they've opened concerts with, like 'Megitsune', 'Road of Resistance', etc. This song has been used as their opener more than any other song though.
BM are the ultimate owners of a stage, this was recorded at the PIA arena Clear night last April and is the 2nd to last song on that show (The opener being Metal Kingdom) though they do use it as an opener quite often. So glad you've found your way down the foxhole,
Very great reaction! The other two girls are 1. Moa - Japanese meaning "love", "most love". (Right) 2. Momo - Japanese meaning "peach". (Left) So they were called Moametal and Momometal when they were on stage.
Nice reaction. Babymetal has stage presence by the boat loads. Su-metal is around 5'2" tall off stage. On stage she is over 60' tall. Moametal might be 5' even off stage. On stage almost as tall as Su. Momometal is taller than Su off stage by a little. On stage she has grown a lot. Put them together and they can be seen from space. Their manager has said that when Babymetal is on stage they have even frightened him. Such is the power of Babymetal. Lucky for us they use that power to give us strong positive uplifting songs. For Babymetal this is the way.
he didn't say frightened, from the translation I've read: "their eyes do show something different on the stage. Something in them makes me feel myself smaller when I talk to them there. Even I feel awe a bit. About to get down on their feet and say 'Yes, your Majesties.' (laugh)"
@@stevechevy3382 interesting ! Who made the translation if I may ask ? This is the 1 I used: *“Babymetaling is a new dance style!”* 4: Interview with BABYMETAL choreographer, Hedoban Magazine, Vol. 1, the beginning part
@@autohmae I really don't remember. And I don't write these things down. Your translation does have a better flow to it. Meaning it sounds more like a natural thing Koba might say.
That was so much fun watching your astonishment at this performance. And yes one of the amazing super powers of Babymetal pretty much from the start has been their amazing command of the audience. You'll see it in virtually every Babymetal video and it never fails to impress. Your comments showed you really picked up on that and it is such an important part of the Babymetal experience. This song is off their first album but I was unclear from your opening statements. It sounded like you thought you were going to be watching an "early" performance where what this was was a fairly recent performance of one of their early classics. The iconic video of this from 10 years ago has all three OG's. One of whom-Yui-left in 2018. The newest official member of Babymetal, Momo-stage left. This song was her first one as the newest member. Here she is 20, Su is 26 and Moa-stage right was 24. Your comments and physical reaction made this such an enjoyable reaction I do hope you'll do more Babymetal. Tip: they are legendary for their live performances so you might want to stick with those.
Great stuff! And a wonderful idea, to start from the very beginning. I will say that the version of this that is considered definitive, or at least the most dramatic, is the Legend 1997 performance. Not for the seriously religious, or at least devoutly Catholic, or the Pope lol. I think you'll enjoy some of the origin stories, so to speak, of the members. There are many clips of Sakura Gakuine, which was the idol agency Amuse's group concept. It was a fake school where the girls got up to a lot of fun activities and, of course, made lots of music and other entertainment. You can get all of that in some of the great Babymetal history videos out there, many of which are quite amusing in themselves.
This isn't the best song for vocals for sure...but to give you an idea of what's happening here, it's sort of their 'transformation' song at the start of a show. The girls real names are Suzuka, Moa, and Momoko, but when they get on stage the spirit of the Fox God posesses them and they turn into SU-METAL, MOAMETAL and MOMOMETAL. The lyrics are basically 'SU_METAL DESU!' which means 'I am SU-METAL' she is announcing that she's transforming into her super-powered alter ego. And yes, it's an incredibly hype way to start a show.
Yes, they often use this song to open their concerts. A particular case was the concert for the 16th birthday of Su-metal, in which this was the ending song, with the death of a jpop singer and the birth of a metal queen...
Haha! Welcome to the foxhole! You’re definitely in for a treat! So many great songs you will fall in love with. You will probably get many suggestions, but as someone who has been a fan since 2015, I would definitely recommend Rondo of Nightmares, Headbanger, Megitsune, Karate, BxMxC, Kagerou, Monochrome just to name a few. Enjoy the journey 😊
Thanks for this reaction, I didn't think this is where you would start, but yes, it's the best introduction song in metal, maybe music. An amazing hype song. The best pun in metal music for sure, right ? As their is no 'th' sound in Japanese, often when Japanese speakers try to say the English word 'death', it comes out as 'des', which is short for 'desu' which means 'we are' or 'i am', etc. They do the fox sign, which is from when they were kids, Babymetal started when the girls didn't know metal music and they tried to mimic the 'metal horns' sign and at least 1 of them said: 'looks like a shadow play fox' and so they adopted that instead and their now a whole backstory about the 'fox god', etc. it's all with a big fat wink. 🙂 And no, the girls don't scream live, maybe Momometal will or recently did. It's hinting that way... we'll see what happens.
Yep, BM is nuts. So I really hope you are also checking out Lovebites and Band Maid, for other fantastic J-Metal bands. And IF you really wanna see stage presence please react to Queen and Freddie Mercury. For a female vocalist there can be only one . the goddess valkyrie 😂. So there has to be a Nightwish "Ghost Love SXcore" wacken 2013 live reaction, THIS you will never forget....
The song performance was created within the concept for the concert "Legend 1997". It was about death and rebirth of 'legendary' musician. Besides the imagery it wasn't a religious concept.
You are totally right, this is their epic opening performance to get the crowd hyped and participating in the show. This is their least vocal song and more about the theatrics and really demonstrates Babymetal's incredible versatility as performers ❤🦊🤘
@autohmae sure, is more accurate to say "of their songs played live regularly", but reactors like Agnes have to dig deep into the foxhole before getting anywhere near In the Name Of or Shin version of BABYMETAL DEATH
Suzuka Nakamoto\Su-Metal (Vocals and Dance): Angel of Song, Queen Su, Queen of Kawaii, Metal Queen, and Metal Goddess. Moa Kikuchi\Moametal (Scream and Dance): Angel of Love\Smile, Queen of Hearts, Princess Moa, Kawaii Princess, Super Moa-chan, Maiden of Mischief, and Headmistress of Hedabon. Momoko Okazaki\Momometal (Scream and Dance): Angel of Joy, Kawaii Princess, Princess Peach, Momo-Monster, Vampire Slayer, Kabuki Queen. #notacult Kitsune Da O!🤘🦊🤘
BABYMETAL are awesome. You’re in safe hands with these young women -they never disappoint. Glad you are enjoying the journey so far, it’s a pure & joyful thrill ride. Oh and Su is very very special.
FYI the hand gesture they use is representing the Fox God. There is a stage story that Baby Metal does soooo good, from the performers to the members of the band.
Everybody seems to think that this was a big jump. As I watched this right after KINGSLAYER. Such a socking experience. Fell in love with BABYMETAL. The #notacult is honestly iconic.
#notacult 😂😂 haha its going to be really fun watching your reaction journey! You'll get walls of text information dumps but as for me, I'll give you an anecdote! I'm 47, absolutely was blown away by this group when i discovered them late 2022, and last year my wife and I got to see them back to back days in Texas and my gosh, i learned no amount of watching videos prepared me! Their actual stage presence in person is insanely wild .. the amount of relentless energy they put into every single song of each performance is so incredible! We didn't get the huge stage production of course but what we did get, is to be very close to the stage! My wife made me a pair of that shiny shoulder armor they wear and in Dallas Moa noticed (we were 6 feet from the stage) and laughed and waved. The amount of eye contact and personal interactions they did the whole US tour really was something new and it was sooo fun! Their hard work and positive messaging is inspiring, they make me laugh and smile and feel young again! No two songs are alike. There are surprises around every corner. You're going to have a blast!! Sorry I needed to add an observation. So for our shows, Dethklok opened for them..and the crowd was rowdy but might as well have been operating at a 3 out of 10 .. when this song came on and the girls marched out onto the stage the crowd went to an 11, we got pushed and crushed sooo hard we couldn't move everyone was going insane! Like NOTHING I've ever experienced! Oh yeah .. and Su's voice live? Unbelievable!
Nice reaction, thanks! I see you just jumped into the Fox Hole head first... by yourself. So, our work here is done! Haha... Yes this was (and is again) usually their opening song since they are actually introducing themselves as you noticed. But this was a special occasion, being Momometal's first "Momometal desu" since her addition the previous day and the crowd reacted to it roaring like beasts. Love it. Also good eye with the "kitsune" (fox) signs. They (and the fans) do it all the time. 🤘🦊
Thank you! your reaction made me so happy🤘 Welcome to the world of BABYMETAL pure joy and happiness. Their energy are real and a life changing experience granted seeing them live. I can tell since I was there in that pit having so much fun😆
Well it was the beginning due to a reason. They were taught to use a stage persona and this song was compossed to help them into their stage persona. But the song was written for 3 members. After Yui left theywere unable to use it till Momo joined them as the New member in April 2023. From then on they again start every vconcert in this member.
And you've got a whole backlog of K-Pop? I'm on board! 🤘🦊🤘 Babymetal - Doki Doki Morning would be up next, I suppose, from timeline standpoint. Often live Babymetal is best, but 'Doki Doki Morning' M/V (Official) *IS* a good one. Excited to see what's next.
To take you back to the early day's, this is a link to IDZ, Su I think would be 14 or 15 and Yui and Moa 12 or 13 looking at them and it must be one of the earliest performances with the live Kami band as back in the day they couldn't afford the live band and sang live over a backing tape. th-cam.com/video/sgiQan0nZ78/w-d-xo.html
What you called counting is actually them spelling out B A B Y M E T A L. I judge the highest level of crowd participation as "Babymetal level". Not many groups can get their entire audience to bow down and worship them. You seem to like Japanese rock music. I would recommend that you check out a group called Band-Maid. It consists of five extremely talented Japanese girls dressed in various styles of maid outfits. Go to their official TH-cam channel and pick out any song because they are all good. They really shine while playing live though. I would suggest that you watch all of their latest live videos from the Yokohama Arena concert. There are three or four bangers and one tear jerker from that show and they are all great!
Hello and welcome to the Foxhole. 🦊🤘Babymetal sees the fans as part of the band. They call her “the one.” I went to their concert in Munich last year. These three girls take the stage and burn down the house... I recommend the two versions of Monochrome live and on the f1rst take. Have a good time kitsunes. 狐神のために #notacult
Fans are Jumping up and down by chanting "Death! Death! Death! Death!" You are in it and do the same! That’s how they open their shows as usual. I was there! Welcome to the Foxhoke. 🤘🦊🤘
Thanks for the reaction. I am excited to watch your continued discovery of this great group and their unique and diverse sound. They are amazing and talented, and they will always surprise you. Keep the good reactions coming. I would also love to see you check out Babymonster, YG's new girl group, which has two Japanese members, along with two Thai and three Korean. They are also very talented with incredible vocals, amazing rap skills, and good dancing. Their new song "Sheesh" got 100 million YT views in like a week which is incredible for a debut track
Their songs are very clever, often using unpredictable changes in key and tempo, and wordplay (like having a song called Death because it sounds like Desu and is their introduction song as well as death being a very heavy metal motif).
We are a cult haha. All joking aside, the audience participation in these concerts is the result of music written specifically to be interacted with; Moametal and Momometal are often assigned lyrics meant to engage the crowd in a chant. Mixing the energy of metal music with the devotion of idol music was a genius idea. I recommend a live video of Megistune next, either from PIA Arena or Yokohama Arena (might also be listed as the “The Sun Also Rises” concert).
Babymetal Death is the the opener for the vast majority of their live shows and is also the opener of the of the first album. BMD serves as a crowd warm up song, and an introduction of the group to the crowd. They are saying their names, but it's also a play on words, because "Death" when said with the Japanese phonetics sounds like "desu" (I am/we are), so they are both introducing themselves and saying "Death!" which is pretty metal. This performance at Clear Night was particularly intense because it was Momometal's first performance as an official full member of Babymetal, so it was the first time she got to say "Momometal desu!", which is why the crowd cheered particularly loudly for her. I've been in the crowd for Babymetal Death a number of times, but this was the by far the most frenzied crowd reaction to this song that I have been part of. And yes, they are making the Fox Sign. You will that all the time with Babymetal. Either the girls will be doing it themselves, or the fans in the crowd will be doing it during the show.
Great Reaction! Welcome to The One and Babymetal! 🔥🤘🦊 I wasn't exactly sure, if you would like "Death" as your first Step into the Metalverse, but I'm glad you liked it! And you analyzed it pretty good. Last Year in November I was at a Headliner Concert of the Babymetal World Tour and as they opened up with this Song, those three absolutely talented, amazing Women, captivated and hyped everyone up so much, it was unbelievable. They just pull you in and take you on an absolutely amazing, hype Journey that you won't forget! Babymetal live is just the Best! Have fun going down deeper into the Foxhole. 🤘🔥🦊
Funny when you watched the BMTH collab you commented about the cute girls with the heavy music. Their music is obviously equally heavy. Newer tracks like Mirror Mirror and Maya are punishing.
@@AgnesKoteles I'm really liking your reactions to BM. Since you seem to prefer the live performances can I suggest you look for some of the better quality live recordings. I find the Japanese shows spectacular if a little overproduced. If you find good videos from last years US or European tour it's just the ladies and the band all on a small stage and I find it much more powerful. There was a great video from Jakarta that combined over a hundred fan cams into a seamless recording of their whole show. Really good IMO.
Momo (Left) was in the Korean survival reality show Girls Planet 999, in which the winners would become members of the girl group Kep1er. She was eliminated from the show tho. I don't listen to kpop, so you should know better than me about Girls Planet 999 / Kep1er. #notacult maybe a little bit.
No way! I never had a chance to watch the actual survival show but I love kep1er. They are really good. I shall check the survival show out actually. Not sure why I haven’t gotten around to watch it yet. 🤔
If I remember correctly from your last BABYMETAL reaction, you said you were pretty new to Metal. This is not exactly a song to ease you into it, but it does give you an idea what BABYMETAL's crowds are like. As you noticed, this song is an introduction to start the shows with. In this particular instance, it was the first time the song was played after Momoko (or Momometal) had officially been declared the new third member of the group. If you pay attention to her "Momometal desu" in the chorus (the third girl), you'll hear the crowd show their appreciation by giving her an extra loud cheer. It still warms my heart every time I see it. #notacult If you want to check their music out chronologically, you should start with "Doki Doki Morning", which was their very first release in 2011. As you can imagine, they were much younger than they are here. It has quite a bit of J-Pop in it, too. :-)
I recommend Karate the official video. Then, it's a live version. He k recoomend comparing official videos to a live performance of all babymetal videos.
With your comment "This is boss level energy in a video game" you need to react to "BMC" official MV, it's literally the girls taking on the boss in a video game. If you really want to see how they can control a crowd watch "Head Banger!! Live at Makuhari 2023", they can get get thousands of people on their knees bowing to them with out saying a damn word, Su's stare at the crowd will give you chills.
This is the next big question. You have to consider they are speaking japanese. Desu sounds exactly the same as death but it simply means to be. So they are saying I am Su Metal ... we are Babymetal. This the complete Text.
For context as you asked their ages: Su was born in December 1997, Yui & Moa were born in June & July 1999, Momo was born in March 2003 To fully appreciate their progression you should try to watch their older videos from nearer when each was first recorded. E.g. their first, Doki Doki Morning, was recorded in 2010 when they were still the Heavy Music Club as part of Sakura Gakuin, released as a single/video in 2011 as BabyMetal and they still perform it live. Some suggestions for early reactions: Megitsune official video - normally live is best but this video is really good and you get to see Su with her hair down which is rare Headbanger Legend of 1997 Apocalypse Road Of Resistance live (official) Enjoy the journey.
I love your (facial) reaction 😅 If you want to see "the best cult activity" but I'm not saying it's a cult because it's #NotACult 😂 you must check out Legend 1997 Version but you must hold on to your seat lol. Looking forward for more BABYMETAL reaction. More power to your channel.
...and this is not their best performance of this song, not even the second best, I'd put it on the 7th place on my list now that I think about it - but this is the latest performance that we've got in HQ. Agnes please continue your journey down the fox hole.
Welcome to the foxhole!! Hahaha!! No... this performance is definitely NOT the closest thing to a cult you have ever seen in your life. Check LIVE Legend 1997 Apocalypse and tell us. It's a shame that this was your first time seeing a live BabyMetal DEATH, although it's not bad either. Of course we will accompany you on your journey through BabyMetal, it is always a pleasure to add another member to the cult... I mean, to the group of followers. 😅😅 Babymetal forever!! 🦊🦊🦊

Can confirm that it did 🤘🦊🤘
So true🤪🦊🤘

Welcome back to the Foxhole.
They're celebrating 10 years anniversary of the first album and along with this they released a Gimme Chocolate!! challenge on social media. They've been playing this blaster intro during the World Tour 2023/2024.
This was the first "Babymetal Death" version with MomoMetal as an official member and it was a come back song after December 2017 iirc. They did Babymetal Death Shin Version at Budokan 2021 but it's a way different version.
Btw don't miss out the live version at Legend 1997 in 2013, it's even more shocking and impactful with the theatrical performance and one of the rare time they used it as an ender.✝️
Anyway always remember that we are -NotACult- 🦊🤘💀
The screamo (also the growling) is a backing track and SuMetal is mimicking just like she did the same in some other songs especially from early era, no one is credited, except for certain songs we will tell you about it.
Lyrics pretty much are introduction to themselves with a pun intended play on words between death and "desu" which means "I'm" in Japanese and in this context.🦊🤘💀
This is Epic ❤❤❤ great reaction. Love from Sweden

Super fun reaction thank you! "This is way too good, this is way too good" -- Welcome to #NotACult. Can't wait to see more as you go through their performances! You are in for such a great time.
#itsdefinitelyacult
7:07 "I have not seen someone like demand so much attention just from standing on a stage and just staring " "oh my gosh girls have so much power ". - That's why we call Su-metal Queen. Thanks for your great reaction.
Great reaction.🤘🦊🤘#notacult
Their first hit was Doki Doki Morning
Another great reaction, with much shock factor! Very hype opener, and you are going to be finding the songs coming up very interesting!
I really though it'll be a headbanger 😂 if this is shock to you I am waiting for your reaction to HEADBANGER
I became a fan after I watched Headbanger live at Makuhari
@@mariomilaf1 did you see Momo version of headbanger? This is total fire!
@@RoadVlog Yes, I wasn't ready for Momobanger, idk if I should give spoiler for who haven't seen yet 😅
@@mariomilaf1 I am truly happy that she joined the band officially. She is like missing puzzle for a beautiful picture!
I've never seen someone fall madly in love with Su during a reaction vid before! 😅 ❤🦊🤘
Was not expecting that either, lol :)
If you want to start with earlier stuff, check out Headbanger from Legend 1997, Su’s 16th bday bash in Dec 2013.
For those who say BABYMETAL is not metal, I present you with BABYMETAL Death.😉
OTFGK, but an interesting take posted on BABYMETAL REDDIT by VulpineDeity:
Take it a step farther.
🦊 🦊 🦊 🖖 ❤
Welcome to FOXHOLE
You have fallen into the abyss and there is no escape.
Su-metal (Suzuka Nakamoto 26) also known as Queen-Su or simply Su
Moametal (Moa Kikuchi 24) Princess Moa or Moa
Momometal (Momoko Okasaki 21) Princess Peach (Momo=Peach in Japanese) or Momo
Yuimetal (Yui Mitsuno) Princess Tomato or Yui, He retires in 2018 for health reasons.
Since 2018, backup dancers were used, they did not sing, until the P.I.A. concert. in 2023, which Momo is officially introduced in this song.
#notacult
This is an opening to all of their concerts (correct me if I am wrong but don't remind any other opening to their live.
In the Name Of en el concierto Legend S del 2017 por ejemplo o todos los conciertos del 2018 o el Metal Galaxy noche 2 del 2020
The opening this night was Metal Kingdom
FYI, Babymetal will be performing at 13 festivals this June in the UK and Europe, you should try to see them if you can
Monochrome LIVE at PIA Arena 2023 next.
that song is amazing
BM are the ultimate owners of a stage, this was recorded at the PIA arena Clear night last April and is the 2nd to last song on that show (The opener being Metal Kingdom) though they do use it as an opener quite often. So glad you've found your way down the foxhole,
Very great reaction!
The other two girls are
1. Moa - Japanese meaning "love", "most love". (Right)
2. Momo - Japanese meaning "peach". (Left)
So they were called Moametal and Momometal when they were on stage.
For Babymetal this is the way.
he didn't say frightened, from the translation I've read:
"their eyes do show something different on the stage. Something in them makes me feel myself smaller when I talk to them there. Even I feel awe a bit. About to get down on their feet and say 'Yes, your Majesties.' (laugh)"
@@autohmae the translation I read said frightened.
I do believe she said she was flabbergasted and had nothing to say.......🤣
#notacult 🤘🦊🤘Not a cult!
This is one of the most entertaining reactions I’ve seen for BABYMETAL, thank you and keep’em coming.
These girls and this band kick ass. Saw them live last year!
And no, the girls don't scream live, maybe Momometal will or recently did.
I guess In The Name Of has even less vocals... or the Shin version of Babymetal Death.
@autohmae sure, is more accurate to say "of their songs played live regularly", but reactors like Agnes have to dig deep into the foxhole before getting anywhere near In the Name Of or Shin version of BABYMETAL DEATH
They definitely demanded attention in their Japan show, like try to spot people use their phone on that crowd for example
Hi. At any Babymetal show only two lights will be present, red and blue.

BABYMETAL are awesome. You’re in safe hands with these young women -they never disappoint. Glad you are enjoying the journey so far, it’s a pure & joyful thrill ride.
Oh and Su is very very special.
This is how they open a concert
🤩
FYI the hand gesture they use is representing the Fox God. There is a stage story that Baby Metal does soooo good, from the performers to the members of the band.
This wasn’t their first song ever, that one would be Doki Doki Morning
"Death" by Babymetal is incredible experience in my opinion. Great reaction!😃
Everybody seems to think that this was a big jump. As I watched this right after KINGSLAYER. Such a socking experience. Fell in love with BABYMETAL. The #notacult is honestly iconic.
Just 3 lovely young ladies introducing themselves. Nothing to be confused about. 😉

#notacult.

"This is like a ritual to get you" 😄

Thank you! your reaction made me so happy🤘
Welcome to the world of BABYMETAL pure joy and happiness.
🤘🦊🤘
Babymetal - Doki Doki Morning would be up next, I suppose, from timeline standpoint. Often live Babymetal is best, but 'Doki Doki Morning' M/V (Official) *IS* a good one.
Excited to see what's next.
I have lots of kpop. Welcome on board 😊
Epic performance. SU, Moa and Momoko. ❤❤❤ GREAT reaction . Love from Sweden
Love your reaction and thank you for sticking with the live version. Babymetal live is on another level.
This is MomoMetal's (Momoko Okazaki) first concert as an official member of Babymetal. This is why everyone goes crazy after she says her name.

Amazing.
Nice reaction, next pleas reaction monochrome live🙏🤘🔥
Their songs are very clever, often using unpredictable changes in key and tempo, and wordplay (like having a song called Death because it sounds like Desu and is their introduction song as well as death being a very heavy metal motif).
Su-Metal's stage presence is such that I often forget that she's the same height as my wife. 😂
Is the music sound really soft in the video for anyone else? My laptop is cranked, and I can't hear the music.
Good reaction Agi :0
# Babymetal #Notacult
Try more Babymetal and expect unexpected :)))
Great reaction - you’re going to love discovering Babymetal! They are truly amazing and a ton of fun. 🤘🦊

Great Reaction! Welcome to The One and Babymetal! 🔥🤘🦊
I wasn't exactly sure, if you would like "Death" as your first Step into the Metalverse, but I'm glad you liked it!
IMO, _BABYMETAL Death_ isn't a song. It's an experience.
Funny when you watched the BMTH collab you commented about the cute girls with the heavy music. Their music is obviously equally heavy. Newer tracks like Mirror Mirror and Maya are punishing.
Can't wait to get to it. :)
Su metal just stared into your soul and took it 😱 so nothing to worry about then. #notacult

No way! I never had a chance to watch the actual survival show but I love kep1er. They are really good.
I shall check the survival show out actually. Not sure why I haven’t gotten around to watch it yet. 🤔
I need her shirt! That's awesome!
Amazing reaction!!! You should also check the Legend 1997 version 😉 (Momo wasnt part of the group in the beginning, it was Yuimetal)

#notacult
If you want to check their music out chronologically, you should start with "Doki Doki Morning", which was their very first release in 2011. As you can imagine, they were much younger than they are here. It has quite a bit of J-Pop in it, too. :-)
Yes, this was a shock but I wouldn't have it any other way.
Straight from kingslayer to death hey. Wild. Lol
That's how I roll, just wild. Joking of course, did not know what I was signing up.
I recommend Karate the official video. Then, it's a live version. He k recoomend comparing official videos to a live performance of all babymetal videos.
Yes indeed, arguably their favorite opening song, the one they used the most, followed by Megitsune.
🤘🦊⚡️
And according to metalheads in their concerts are about 40% female fans and all ages between 5 and 85.
This song, you know, is sung by the audience.
For context as you asked their ages:
Su was born in December 1997, Yui & Moa were born in June & July 1999, Momo was born in March 2003
To fully appreciate their progression you should try to watch their older videos from nearer when each was first recorded.
E.g. their first, Doki Doki Morning, was recorded in 2010 when they were still the Heavy Music Club as part of Sakura Gakuin, released as a single/video in 2011 as BabyMetal and they still perform it live.
Some suggestions for early reactions:
Megitsune official video - normally live is best but this video is really good and you get to see Su with her hair down which is rare
Headbanger Legend of 1997 Apocalypse
Road Of Resistance live (official)
Enjoy the journey.
