This video was released a month or two ago to celebrate the 10th anniversary of their first album being released - 'BABYMETAL Death' (it is not just 'Death') was the first song on that first album. They had not played it live since 2017 because it is an intro song and they are introducing themselves by name, but they couldn't use it with just two official members and Yuimetal didn't appear at all after October 2017 and officially announced she was leaving the band in October 2018. This performance was not the opening song for this concert (it was for the rest of the tour last year) - for this one it was the first encore on 2nd April 2023 - the first concert with Momometal as an official member, so 'BABYMETAL Death' was back ... I don't know if you heard the crowd cheer particularly loudly when she introduced herself as "Momometal desu". You probably already know, but the whole song is based on a pun. The English word death sounds to a Japanese speaker like the Japanese word desu (the U is silent) spoken with a slight lisp. Desu means to be - as in I am, we are, it is etc. Basically the lyrics for this song are: "B_A_B_Y_M_E_T_A_L" ... "I am Su-metal", "I am Moametal", "I am Momometal" "We are BABYMETAL" ... "Death Death Death Death Death Death Death Death".
Yeah this song is usually the opener, except in some special performances. This version is special because Momo's first song as a member. With the addition of Momometal they recovered this version of the song and this was their first performance being a trio again. This time, being a special occasion it was a sort of encore, although not a show closer. Yes, their shows in Japan are another level in many ways. As you mentioned, not only because of the stage setup, the lights and lasers show, the pyro... but also because of the crowd. It's something every fan dreams to experience one day. I consider myself very lucky since I attended both Legend MM shows last month. I'm a lifelong metalhead and I've seen great, crazy and very dangerous things during concerts but I never ever experienced something like this before. 100% recommended if you have the opportunity. 🤘🦊
Good call on setting the stage for the rest of the concert. It usually takes a song or two to get warmed up / in sync, etc.....but with them it was like being thrown into a volcano with a thunderstorm overhead during an earthquake. And then they played Gimme Chocolate and I just melted.....

They are a one of a kind group I've never seen anything like this I have been to hundreds upon hundreds of concerts never have seen crowd experience like this. I also am planning a trip to Japan for next year's 2 day show it's always in March right around my Birthday, the biggest birthday wish I have after being part of the this world for 58 years is to be apart of the crowd at the Japan shows.
I was there, it was amazing. The atmosphere was extra emotional as Momo finally got her mic and was a full member. As others have said, now do Momobanger from her birthday show a bit over a month ago from Legend MM. You'll be suprised :)
I heard this live for the first time in April 2023 - the same month Momo joined. My friend turned to me after this song, who was sceptical about why I loved Babymetal so much, and said "I get it now, that was fucking awesome." My favourite thing about the crowd here - and for every concert since - is that Momo's cheer is louder. It's not that we don't love Su and Moa, we do, but this was Momo's first ever concert as a member and we were just so overjoyed to have her that we had to cheer louder for her. And in Madrid I was queuing next to a tiny three year old girl who loved Babymetal so much, so I definitely see the appeal of taking children there. Obviously not into the standing area, but even from the stands the concert is something else (I've been both pressed at the front of the barriers and the stands lol)
I was at PIA Arena for this show and it was absolutely wild being there. I've been in the pit for Babymetal Death a number of times, but this was easily the most frenzied one that I have experienced. I think it was extra intense because this was the night the new Babymetal was officially active with Momometal as a full member of the group, so everyone was super hyped to welcome her. I believe the crowd for each night was around 12,000. Just FYI, Babymetal shows are all ages events (more or less), and they have a special section called the "Silent Mosh'sh Pit" for parents with young children, the elderly, and people with disabilities who can't handle a regular mosh pit. You're right to want see them in Japan. I've seen them in Japan and overseas as well, and while both formats have good aspects, there is nothing else like one of their stadium spectaculars on home turf. The guitarist doing the solo is Chris Kelly. He plays the purple guitar and always stands on the left side of the stage next to Clint the bass player. CJ Masciantonio is the other guitarist who stands on the right side next to Anthony Barone on the drums. Yes, this is the show opener. Babymetal Death is an introduction song. That's why they spell out the name of the band and introduce themselves.

That is the only occasion when people shout that sinister word happily and smilingly, especially to celebrate rebirth of the band with newly inducted official member, Momometal. That is the reason why the shout is the biggest when "Momometal Death" is declared. Western (American) Kami Band played in the girls' back. I always appreciate the devoted support like knights by Chris, CJ, Anthony and Clint (Ryan replaced in USA). They are really unsung heroes.

Pink Floyd used to throw amazing concerts. This is on that level though. I've put BabyMetal on things to see live before I die.
I saw Pink Floyd live in 1994, they were amazing, had amazing show and a really good live sound, like listening to the CD, but a bigger sound. Babymetal is the same, especially before 2020, the sound person after 2020 wasn't as good, but they are learning. Both bands/shows are performed with such precision. Su-metal has said Rammstein aligns more than Babymetal to the clock, because of all the pyro, you need to be exact so they don't stand in the wrong spot at the wrong time.

The way they did it was amazing. As soon as BABYMETAL Death ended with that ambient sort of fade out it suddenly just explodes into IDZ with pyro and everything. The crowd goes insane!

Every time I hear this song, I imagine myself seeing Babymetal live. Sadly, when they came to Mexico in 2015, I didn't know they existed. I discovered Babymetal in like June or July and they were here in May. I couldn't believe my bad luck when I learned that. Of course they never returned to Mexico and they don't have plans to do it any time soon. At this point, I'm almost sure I'll never see them live. I can't afford a travel to the USA. I've thought about it many times, but it's just impossible for me. All I know is that If I ever see them live, I'm sure I'd cry as soon as I heard the first notes of Death.
The only band I can think of and it is so different is Rammstein. They have built for outdoor concerts stages that come packed in 50 Semi's and take a week to set up. It is truly staggering. That said for me. If I had a chance to see one of those stadium concerts for Rammstein or a huge arena show for Babymetal. Well I'm going with the Babymetal. But all cred to Rammstein. As for intervju, it took Fox5 1.5 years to set up their intervju in New York, Amuse and the team behind Babymetal are very, very protective, need to submit questions in advance for approval, can't ask anything else, need to show the intervju before publication etc, so doing intervju with them is... not easy to say the least... but if you pull it off, I will watch it for sure! :)
There's literally not a better opening song in any set, anywhere. I've seen and worked on thousands, even traveled intl on a couple tours. This is the best hype song on the planet.

Not so unusuAl if you ignore that there last time it was their begining was in 2017 and this was the first time they were three again. This song was written for 3 girls. It was the songvthat helpedvthe girls to find theircstage personas. Si ce they were tsught to use stage personas on stage. And since this time every stage performance starts with this song. Only Videos like Leave it all behind are exceptions. Although they probably have other Methode to find back in their personas but probably not as fast.

Not so unusuAl if you ignore that there last time it was their begining was in 2017 and this was the first time they were three again. This song was written for 3 girls. It was the songvthat helpedvthe girls to find theircstage personas. Si ce they were tsught to use stage personas on stage. And since this time every stage performance starts with this song. Only Videos like Leave it all behind are exceptions. Although they probably have other Methode to find back in their personas but probably not as fast.
