I definitely think it still has the trumpet sound on the higher RPMs, but I really like that sound personally. I think it’s apart of what makes a 370z so unique.
Really no way of getting rid of that sound without RHFC/RTPs. Definitely part of the sacrifice going with long tube headers. The VQ displacement is much too large to have a good ricer (I said it, because it's unfortunately true) sound, so when the VQ ends up making it, it just sounds fake and off-putting, if that makes sense. To each their own, though. I have fi rhfc and their resonated cbe with z1 headers and love it. Sound is rich, full and deep toned without the obnoxious decibel level.
I'm not going to lie, I'm loving my setup! I have considered a full Tomei Y-pipe back because the titanium is lighter, but short from that, this PPE & Greddy setup is perfect IMO

Great video man..alwayd explaining everything clear.. I got a question... i have the samr problem with my os sensor 2nd bank and i replaced it but still showing the same.. do you know what may be causing this ?
Best high rpm sound of any V6. This sounds like a quieter GT2 class car. There's a Z based company, the name leaves me, but they're popular. They have a ported intake manifold with a proven 30whp horsepower gain. I'm shocked at how much power VQ37's can make. They are near the power levels of a Porsche GT3 of their time. 415hp at 3.8L's in the Porsche. It actually seems doable with a Nissan VQ. Kudos to Nissan. I love the PPE headers. I love the Nissan VQ engines and by the way, I'm a huge Honda fanboy and of course a 2L engine is nothing compared to a 3.7L. I love the 370Z. It's my favorite GT car. The S2000 is my favorite roadster. I really got goosebumps when the engine was at high rpm. I got strong Porsche vibes when i heard it. Good thing you got rid of the OBX. They looked like engine suicide waiting to happen.
When the car did 318whp I saw you tuned the car with ecutek app from admin and so this time you retuned with the same app? And took it to the same local dyno to see the gainz right?
In defence of the Invidia pipe size, the system used here is also 2.5"OD[63mm ext 60mm int] initially and then opens up to 3" at the X pipe. When I had my Invidia fitted that 2.5"[63mm] diameter was huge compared with what came off but particularly compared with the cat section pipe diameter which I think was even smaller? The stock internal dia at the front is 1.65"[42mm]. That means the cross sectional area difference with 60mm is just over double. That is the critical area for flow because the exhaust gas mass decreases as it cools so the pipe diameter should decrease as it progresses[to save weight], not increase. What diameter are the header pipes between the O2 ports? 2.5" or 3"? Ideally they would be 3" after the collectors because 2.5" at that point is even more restrictive than the 2.5" dia leading to the X pipe because of the heat and increased pressure. My ideal would be those gorgeous equal length headers feeding 3" dia after the collectors through a HF cat into 3" dia to the X pipe and from there 2.5" dia. Did it ever get dynoed with the new sensor?

Would have been nice to see the base run overlaid with that of the various mods. The exhaust note is a clear indication that power is being made. Peak power can also be very misleading that is why it be nice to see the overlaid runs.
I have a 2019 370Z sport coupe 6MT an recently had a Stillen Gen 3 long tube CAI, a Fast Intentions TDX x-pipe CBE and an EcuTek dyno tune done at Specialty Z in Simi Valley, CA. The peak rwhp is 321 @ 7200 rpm with a uniform 14 to 15% gain in torque across the rev range. It sounds great and is significantly stronger at all rpms. If I didn't live in California I would have installed those PPE headers. BTW: Condolences on what happened to your Z. I still think it's the best affordable buy for a true rwd classic two seater sports car.
That's killer Jimmy! That's a nice jump over the factory numbers. Thanks!! I'm hoping to find a replacement for my Z since I still have most of the mods from it. Never would I have thought that I was eventually going to need to find a replacement.
Hell yeah man that's awesome! You should leave a total price of all The Mods to get the power that you're at now so people will know if it's in their price range or not
Thanks Aaron! Go for it man, I have no regrets with mine 🙌 I found mine after doing a bunch of searching for 1088 shipped. I've found it much harder to find the same exhaust for sale..
If you like higher pitch I guess. Fast Intentions makes the best long tube headers (firing order designed and scavenging welds inside) and exhaust. This guy is obviously sponsored. With 18” resonators and the carbon fiber cans you get a DEEP low RPM growl (so much so some people think I have a V8) and a formula 1 howl at the top end, and I made 315-320 on a mustang dyno (aka heartbreaker dyno) WITHOUT A TUNE.
Love the setup! Those welds are amazing on the PPE. I went with Z1 headers with art pipes to reduce the drone with Greedy Single CBE love it. Getting retune soon hopefully gain better numbers from my old tune that made 309whp and 12.8 1/4 mile.
You can't go wrong with the Z1 shorties either! It has a different sound to it from long tubes, but still a quality header 👍 Have you done intakes and manifolds yet? I would suggest upgrading those if you haven't before you get a retune & dyno
@@milanmastracci So it seems like Z1 shorties or motordyne are the only two options if you want to go headers and still meet emissions requirements with high flow cats? Am I wrong? @@milanmastracci Glorious sound either way. 50+ bhp at the top takes a lot of knowledge and development work. Like you so rightly say "You get what you pay for"👌
How weird it is to see a not bad sounding v6. I'm impressed. Out of all engine designs I believe v6's are the hardest to tune exhaust to get rid of drone and have deep tone. Cheers.
Its the headers! As soon as you steer away from unequal length OEM-style manifolds, it totally changes the sound. Long-tube equal length all the things 😍
Hey my friend, I have some problems with the code . P1606 vvel , I changed the Riley, and it work for one day, then back to limp mode, then I changed the vvel module, and nothing, any idea what could be
Hi, is there any need of a wheel spacer...when we try to reduce the positive offset of the wheel on a FWD...like if the offset is positive 45 and I change the wheels to positive 35-40 without changing the tire...i wanted to try concave wheels on my car..if this is possible.. Will there be any problems with scrub radius or alignment.. Etc
I just had PPE long tubes installed. The car won’t go past 3500 rpm. If I try to go past 3500 the car starts to “2step” my car is not tuned so I’m wondering if you had that issue before you got it tuned ?
Now hold on a minute, with the best exhaust on the market..?? Im working on a setup that is partially completed, so far it has deleted the droan- deleted the Rasp trumpet sound !! (Not everyone wants to be in the marching band) just saying, It just sounds low, I still need to install a new equal length exhaust header, and then get'ur retuned bye admin tuning, ive got 310rwhp now, im looking to pickup another 20hp+ when im finished 😎
So if I replaced my Megan racing headers that are short tube and get the PPE. I can sell those and my test pipes because I’ll no longer need them right? And my car will still technically be straight piped with the greddy?
You do very well bro, one thing I want to mention that is the Stock exhaust manifold isn't inferior past 2k rpm, try test pipes (most restriction) and a Y pipe with stock exhaust manifold and then with the best headers and plz tell me you gain more than 2whp?
Hey man, love the video, I have a quick question. Did you notice a low end torque loss with the Greddy exhaust? I was going to spring for this set up and then read that the 3inch exhaust cuts your LE torque.
Help a brother out, I'm deciding between greddy or invidia and you've had both. I have a week to decide, I'm going either invidia gemini catback or greddy evo gt catback? All I need to know is the drone unbearable.
So I’m in love with your set up but in my area, cops a pretty hard on loud vehicles. Never considered a Valve cut off for your exhaust??? I’ll definitely have to consider that before spending that much money on a full exhaust that’s probably even illegal here. They go adter the noise though...
Hey man, I’m doing this exact set up on my 09. I’m having a really hard time getting the driver side header in. Did you lift/ tilt the motor at all to make room to slide it up and in? Or lower the trans at all? The header keeps getting stuck on a trans knuckle that is a mount point for the stock clutch fluid hard line.
@@milanmastracci thanks bro. Got them in. They sound great. Ended up getting an Invidia Gemini to keep things a little quieter when needed. Still wakes up and gets pretty loud🤙🏼🤙🏼
I looking for a similar setup, I have Tomei, isr Y pipe and I’m getting these headers but I have a Question and it would be great if you find the time to help me out. My car is still brand new I have less than 4K miles on it, I’m just waiting to put more miles on it and the do a tune with all my mods (stillen gen 3 intakes, tomei, and soon these headers) my question is; do I need a tune to run these? I know with a tune all my mods would be much better but right now I don’t want to tune it, just want to wait a little more meanwhile I get fbo. Also do you thing these will trigger the cel? Thanks man, sick Z
I know it’s an old post but was there any noticeable difference between the invidia you use to run to this? Really like the Greddy and my plans are only the few basic bolt ons. By differences I mean sound, performance, fit? Thanks
There was a massive difference! Not only is it louder, but because of the larger piping and better design of the Greddy exhaust, it freed up a ton of power.
Hi man, nice vid, on my 370z, i put i the obx headers, but for a reason that i dont know, is hitting the steering column, any idea or guess why is this happening ??
You mean the VQ hiss? Every VQ37 will do that sound, and even way more noticeable with headers. Any headers, once catalytic converters are gone be ready to hear that VQ Hiss, or you can put a lot of resonators and quiet it down a lot without sacrifices besides weight
Hey Milan, had you ever seen any idle issues after going long tube headers? In mine the AFR seems to vary and fuel trims short term never get settle with my fast intentions long tube headers.
@@milanmastracci Yes, but I have to come back because they couldn't do it, They want me to put an AFR on the Y-Pipe, now I have to come back in two weeks... Its hard to say since all of my dyno pulls were from 3000 RPM and upwards. Drivability seems to be identical down low
Milan. What’s the difference between copper and metal anti seize? Would you ming sharing a video where to use it?
Finally i found the sound i want for my 370z. Perfection. What do i need to get this built in the 370z?
Hey my friend, I have some problems with the code . P1606 vvel , I changed the Riley, and it work for one day, then back to limp mode, then I changed the vvel module, and nothing, any idea what could be
Where did you get that carbon fiber license plate frame?
Great build! By any chance know If Greddy makes an exhaust system like this for a Nissan Skyline R31? Thanks in advance
Great Combo! Now time for boost with SOHO A2A!
That would be sick! 🙌
Etc
Can’t wait to get me some ppe loan tube headers !
PPE Headers are magic
So true!! They're unreal 🔥
I really hate this car had a crash. It was coming along beautifully
That makes two of us buddy!
Do you have to tune if you change the longtubes with no CAI?
Dude i watched ur dubble clutch and i alwayst thought it was like going from 2-4 lol
Why not ceramic coat and heat shield this one?
Do you have any issues with check engine lights with your current mods?
Hey Ross, I didn't move the motor or trans. I did disconnect the steering column bolt on the lower U-joint, but that's it.
@@milanmastracci thanks bro. Got them in. They sound great. Ended up getting an Invidia Gemini to keep things a little quieter when needed. Still wakes up and gets pretty loud🤙🏼🤙🏼
What kind of external mic did you use to record the exhaust note!? I have a go pro and every time I try recording, I get horrible wind noise ?
I used the built in GoPro mic. Depending on where it is on your car, it will have a ton of wind noise, or not lol
@@milanmastracci Ty
Car parts are like tattoos, good work isn’t cheap and cheap work isn’t good! You get what you pay for! The long tubes on my Trailblazer SS were $1800
Hi man, nice vid, on my 370z, i put i the obx headers, but for a reason that i dont know, is hitting the steering column, any idea or guess why is this happening ??
Was this set up completely loud ? For daily driving ?
Where did you get your greddy? I ordered mine in July from z1 and probably won’t get it till March 😭
I bought it before Covid, and even then it was hard to get my hands on it!
@@milanmastracci thats crazy man. the build is insane by the way. the way it sounds now was literally giving me the chills!
Thanks man I appreciate it 👊
these ppe headers or isr longtube headers?
Do you get hissing sounds with this exhaust and ppe's
@Milanmastracci Hey man where did you purchase your PPE headers?
6:28 what is that rattle/hiss sound. I went to test drive a 370z I’m trying to buy and I head that and thought something was wrong with it.
Thats a vibration from my aftermarket Coolerworx shifter. Nothing is broken, but that's just what it does on decel
You mean the VQ hiss? Every VQ37 will do that sound, and even way more noticeable with headers. Any headers, once catalytic converters are gone be ready to hear that VQ Hiss, or you can put a lot of resonators and quiet it down a lot without sacrifices besides weight
How do you have the data logging info such as o2 sensor readings on your phone? What does it take to have that info available to you?
Hey Andres, I can't say I've used the logging features with my phone. I've only ever used it with my laptop connected.
Wow this is a perfect review
Glad you think so! ❤️
what rims are those? looks really nice
Enkei RS05RR
Hey Milan, had you ever seen any idle issues after going long tube headers? In mine the AFR seems to vary and fuel trims short term never get settle with my fast intentions long tube headers.
That sounds like a tune-related problem. Did you get a tune following your headers?
@@milanmastracci Yes, but I have to come back because they couldn't do it, They want me to put an AFR on the Y-Pipe, now I have to come back in two weeks... They said it's probably because of the long tubes... Let's see. You didn't have any issues? I changed spark plugs, fuel injectors, fuel pump, cjm fuel return system, manifolds, new oem denso O2 sensors, all gaskets are new as well and the problem persists, hopefully they will dial in with the tune but I was wondering if everyone noticed the same with long tubes
Can you run cats with long tubes? Like further back?
Why didn't you add extra heat isolation??
Id love to do these, but annual compliance in my country would have a go at me (for the cat delete) lol
