I actually really like this head, looks awesome for battle poses and lives up to his name HOWEVER I would have liked an alternate head with a more subdued expression that represents his more intellectual side, so we could have both. As it is, he just seems like a monster guy if you don’t know the character

Yeah for sure, he this figure would have been A LOT better if he had to heads.

I too prefer my beast calmer and with glasses. Looked best with Mezco Wolverine
Yeah huntched over he looks good with Mezcos and yeah a calmer Beast head would have been awesome.
Beast needs to look "Beast-ly" but also intelligent. Haven't seen a Beast yet that captures both sides. Hope the Legend version executes that but I still like this figure a lot.

An okay figure at best. The headsculpt isn’t bad but they should have included an alternate head with reading glasses and more relaxed expression.

I liked this figure so much in its details, size and joints and I fully agree that it needs an interchangeable head maybe the head of beast toybiz looks good. good review man.

Toybiz beast was the realest deal. I can't believe I lost it, man. Then again I was, like, three when I got my hands on it
Still got it in my collection, the short Marvel Legends one with the jaw hinge and it goes along with my Marvel Selects, it fits in fine as I display him sprawling forward on top of Colossus’ spike display.
Thank you for this comparison video. You have saved me some dough. I canceled my preorder, won’t be needing this figure since my marvel legends beast is way better. I hope marvel legends makes a new beast soon

Off topic but I was unsure what to do with my old mezco tiger stripe wolverine (the New York comic con one) after he came out but I randomly clicked on your review of this figure and after seeing size comparisons I decided I would put him in my marvel select display because I think the tiger stripe marvel select wolverine I sent a great figure so I use the old Mezco tiger stripe with the other select X-men I really like that setup

@@UnparalleledUniverse i love that version too 👍 however, two pack dp is a bit elusive here in my area for me to get that harness. Have you tried using xmen trainee deadpool head on it ? I think it would be more accurate for the cable and deadpool look 😊

I agree with u on the Marvel Select Beast. I'm pretty sure he came with no accessories, so they should've really made him come with an alternate head alon with an attachable pair of glasses, maybe even a book he can hold.

This is a sidenote but I actually think Mezco wolverine is the only figure in scale -- with 7" figures, which I collect. You should try him with plain clothes wolverine. He's on sale right now so I'm picking him up.

I'm genuinely happy we have a new Beast on the market, as he's not had a lot of love in recent years. I'm was never never a huge fan of Select figures as the quality differs a great deal in paint app and sculpts. Beast is by far one of the most cleanest and neatest I've seen with a new Select figure. I agree that his face isn't the best, but not the worst either. I would've definitely loved an optional head sculpt, probably smiling because any fan of Hank knows he's often very jovial and one of the more positive team members. I also don't much like his base as I feel a laboratory would be a better fit. And I do wish they included a lab coat. Overall I'm still in love with this figure. It's fresh and a positive look for X-Men characters to appear as new merch.
I think it's an awesome figure. Seeing this review convinced me that it's worth it. I like the head now and think it represents Beast well enough.
You pretty much said everything that I was gonna say. He lacks width and the face is just wrong. Also if he came with double joints in the elbows would be better. The rest is one and yes in this case the T hips don't look as bad. Great review and I would like to see him compared to other Beasts.

I would paint some parts of a softer blue
The original Beast concept was based on those old "wolf man" type movies and tv shows from the 1940s. The artist took some liberties drawing from that kind of feel, but I think it looks fantastic. I like the idea of figures being more stylized, and not just reduced averages of looks from the 90s. The Marvel Legends Beast looks boring to me. I don't think Marvel Select gets the credit it deserves. Their recent offerings have all been very poseable, and the sculpt is way better than Legends.
Man this figure looks amazing. Even though I agree that the faces is a little overly agressive, I can't help but like it.
I Just Got The Figure A Few Days Ago. It's Pretty Good Despite Some Very Small Flaws.
I think I might give this figure a try for my marvel legends x-men display.

I love the look of this figure! Not speaking for you sir, but... I know some marvel legends fans always think the action figure world revolves around ML, but it doesn’t. Marvel selects are supposed to be their own scale and their own style. Beast is my favorite X-men character. So this is a welcomed addition to my collection. We rarely get beast figures. Can’t wait for a Hasbro version down the road. Great review bud! I always enjoy your vids!👍🍻
Thanks man! I agree, Marvel Select is it's own thing and the deserve to be considered more than just a Marvel Legends companion line. But Marvel Legends figures are by far the most popular marvel figures, so I always like to throw legends comparisons in there just to help people considering him for their legends display. With a few exceptions, I don't really display Selects and Legends together. Thanks for watching!
Yeah, some Selects just top anything Toy Biz/Hasbro has. Select figures like Juggernaut, Colossus, Lizard, Abomination, Sabretooth & Venom. I think those are all better by a long shot and fit perfectly in with your Legends.
Haha I feel like people only buy Selects for the dios and because they're cheaper than the more expensive Legends.

Beast is 5ft 11, so I mean I would prefer him to be the same size as Marvel Select Gambit, but since he looks alright posed crouching, it doesn't look too bad. But I will admit, Marvel Select X-Men figures look perfect with a Marvel Legends Wolverine considering how short Wolverine is in the comics!
I own the classic Beast but with the regular head. I think it's an under rated Beast figure!

I'm planning on turning this Beast into a custom Beast figure from Beauty & The Beast.
I dont know if its just me but he kinda look more like a werewolf/lycanthrope than Beast.. the only thing we can distinguish that its beast is the blue color, change it to black, dark brown or grey and he's definitely a werewolf.. just sayin.. ✌

You should be able to find him in your local comicbook store or they can order it for you. He is also on Amazon
Yeah, this could be the evil Beast. I think there's an evil version, that I believe is grey from what I recall. Great figure, just not a good Hank McCoy. And yeah, Select is awesome..never had to go online/pay above retail. Just walk in the comic book store, grab it and buy. Legends on the other hand..what a nightmare lol.

It s a werewollf not the beast! The toybiz action figure is very, very, very better ! I hope marvel legends hasbro would make better...
The only better thing on the Toybiz figure is the head, and not even scupt wise and only in design.
I dont get it .its 2018 we have all access in internet what beast look like. Who ever sculpt this and APPROVED this should be fired.. beast should be bulky. Diamond select can sculpt juggernaut in great shape why not beast??
