    Just from how the daughter talks, you can tell she has been a victim of narcissistic abuse. “The least I can do for my mom is try it on” “I don’t like the embellishment, but I know my mom would love it. I can compromise”. She doesn’t feel like she can have her own moment. She has to share it with her mother because she knows how much her mother hates not having something be about her.

    She didn’t even apologize. “I didn’t think it would bother you that much,” and, “I didn’t mean to hurt your feelings,” aren’t apologies. She’s putting all of the blame on Chassidy for reacting and being upset, and only straightened out when people made her feel like the villain.

    • @beeziebubs2756
      @beeziebubs2756 3 ปีที่แล้ว +115

      @Twicexxiii It wasn’t an apology. Her, “Sorry,” was laced with phrases like, “I didn’t think it would bother you so much,” and, “I didn’t mean to hurt your feelings,” which actively works against any apology she would’ve given. It places the blame on the person who was hurt over the person who caused the pain, and, honestly, I don’t think her mom believes she did anything wrong.
      An apology is meaningless when you follow it up with, “I didn’t think it would bother you so much.”

      I agree. She also is very intelligent, both brainwise and emotionally. She sort of radiated and glowed. A real beautiful bride!! That mom should be proud...like you raised a winner. Why not let her shine? I think it's even more upsetting because of how kind and forgiving the daughter is. I think I was rather flabbergasted by the mom continuing to talk about herself. A lot of moms that act ridiculous sort of snap out of it but I felt her attitude was VERY phony and fake and superficial even after. She didn't even have the grace to get emotional or look genuinely happy. A forced plastic smile and very blase and basic niceties. She didn't fawn over her. The daughter clearly craved a mom not a friend. She even said she just wanted a MOM and her mom to act like a mom for one day...not a friend. But the woman who birthed and raised her. Just makes me mad. Any parent would be lucky to have such a daughter!
      And the daughter? Gorgeous. She and her friends also handled the mother's BS perfectly by not reacting at all!!! No attention. Any attention to a self absorbed idiot is good for them. They gave her nothing and she awkwardly left.
      To the daughter...you are stunning and we are all impressed by your poise and self worth/maturity. Your dress looked beautiful. God bless you!!!
