I remember watching him win Darlington after COVID when he got out of the car for the post race interview and saying this is just not right without the fans.
I Will remember that moment when he won and there were no fans allowed. Harvick was on a roll that year winning many races… I will always remember that race!
Dude as a Gordon fan, I was there at Homestead in 2015 when he took the lead. Thats all I wanted. My driver was competitive until the end. So happy you and your fans had that moment Harv
As a fan that was at Atlanta when Happy won in his third race, the feeling I experienced when every fan was on their feet with 3 fingers in the air was something I’ll never forget. Being at Phoenix and watching him take the lead in his last race was some serious full circle stuff. Everyone in my section were on their feet hootin’ and hollerin’! And it just brought that Atlanta moment back. Thank you Kevin, you are a legend of our sport, many blessings for you and your family moving forward.
Best thing about Jr is his ability to get guests to open up about something and get most out the questions he asks by keeping silent and letting guest talk, unless they start going off the rails. But never rude in how goes about to achieve that conversation
You may have finished last at Bristol this year but I remember a few years back you won the night race and graciously did dueling burnouts with Smoke in his final start there! That was pretty special and even more so because I was fortunate enough to be in attendance for that. Been a great ride and I enjoyed watching you race since I started watching the races in 99.
I remember Kevin in the Busch series, he was really talented , kinda had a smart butt attitude and drove the car as hard as he could , sometimes over driving the car but he could make it work... seems to be a great guy with a great family.
This is something that happened to me when I retired. I had the same emotions from working for fifty years and not knowing how I was going handle now going to work anymore. Glad to see you got out when you wanted. I see so many athletes try to stay too long and just look foolish. Good luck.
Love Kevin. He’s swallowing hard, he’s definitely emotional ❤ I was cheering from home - every week for almost 30 years. DJ, You, Clint, Tony, Kevin…so many favorites have retired. I guess Blaney will be my next favorite.
I've been an Earnhardt man my whole life but I always cheered Kevin and was happy if he won .. although it was hard to do at the Coca-Cola 600 when Jr ran out of fuel I was there and the energy was incredible coming to the white flag.I heard 100,000 people gasp as Jr ran out and Harvick won it .. ill never forget that moment
I was at that Bristol race. Huge Harvick fan. Saw my first NASCAR race at Bristol. Actually was the weekend Harvick got into it with Biffle. So, I wanted to see Harvick’s last Bristol race. I was utterly shocked at the lack of performance the 4 car had. If you would have told me that Harvick would have finished the race and wasn’t involved in any incidents, I would have said top ten finish…..no doubt. Oh well 💩happens.
I’m going to miss Kevin. I credit Kevin with helping fans and RCR start the healing process from the loss of Dale. Stepping into that car under horrendous circumstances with a team that was grieving and he put the car in Victory Lane in only his 2nd or 3rd race. The Sport needed that and RCR needed that. He will definitely be missed on the track.
I love these podcasts because it's make the actors in the sport "real". Kevin sharing some of the things he's going through not much different than someone that retires from say a trade. Mark Martin would be a great guest.
That's a torch that's always going to get passed around in this sport. Maybe it passes from Busch to BK or Hamlin, then along to a Logano, a Chastain or a Gibbs even.
I was there, you damm right we were cheering. I went to the race because it was Harvick's last race but I also went because I knew he had a chance to win despite not being in the Final 4. I could tell at that point Ross and Blaney were gonna be hard to deal with but I thought they would make Harvick's car better throughout the day to keep up with them.
Nothing wrong with retirement. My father worked his entire life to ensure he had enough money to retire with and died a year after retirement with cancer. After that I always said I’m not gonna be the richest guy in the cemetery. I’m not working until I die. Me and my wife were Dinks, Dual Income No Kids, and we invested and saved enough in order to retire at 49 years old. Even though I loved my career, I love retirement better. Everyday is a weekend. Whenever people ask what I do with all my extra time since I retired I tell them I floss. 😂 My teeth have never looked better. 😂
Its not exactly the same but I can understand the feeling. I stopped sailing recently. I used to be a Merchant Marine Engjneer, and you have to be on it while on the ship. Constantly looking for whats broken, whats going to break, fixing things and keeping things running. I moved to a shoreside job, and mentally it is so much more relaxing to not have to be on it, more on a 24/7 basis. Now while i do need to be productive, its nowhere near as neverending as when I was on a ship. And when i go home to my son, i ca. Relax and enjoy my time with him and my wife.
One thing that hasn't really been brought up about Harvick is they always say you don't want to be the one to replace a legend. Harvick may be the best to have ever replaced a legend.
Rodney alone cost him the first Phoenix race, first martinsvile race and even Daytona picking the wrong line on the restart. Bonehead moves. Rodney is one of the best in the garage to set up cars but can’t call a race to save his life
Athletes retire either when they aren’t wanted anymore or when they get sick of preparing. That’s what Harvick is saying that he won’t miss when he’s talking about the competitive mindset, that he won’t miss that constant, nagging pressure to always be preparing for the next race.
Racing is like a drug and not like a 9 to 5 job that you won`t miss, so going through something like withdrawals might creep up? Adrenaline rushes are a natural drug.
I remember watching him win Darlington after COVID when he got out of the car for the post race interview and saying this is just not right without the fans.
Amen
I Will remember that moment when he won and there were no fans allowed. Harvick was on a roll that year winning many races… I will always remember that race!
I remember him putting ATFin his father in law’s intake of his truck.
Funny trick I didn’t know anyone else knew.
@@beerrun1550 That was hilarious 🤣🤣🤣
Mega Respect to Harvick!
Thumbs Up!

I was at that championship race here in phoenix and I’ll tell you for sure the whole crowd went crazy once he took the lead. It gave me chills

I will forever laugh at when Harvick pushed someone into a fight with Gordon on pit road. God that was hilarious
we were up there cheering Kevin! My whole family and I! It was great to see you take the lead again at Phoenix!

That was in 2016

Harvick drove Dale sr’s car always been a favorite to me since then thx Kevin.

It would be funny as hell if Harvick showed up to the daytona 500 in his fire suit for the broadcast and somehow he got in the driver intros
You will be missed in nascar you were a great driver an fun to which you race good luck with your family life with your children ❤
I guess Kyle Busch would be the last outlaw now.
That's a torch that's always going to get passed around in this sport. Maybe it passes from Busch to BK or Hamlin, then along to a Logano, a Chastain or a Gibbs even.
Another great career in the books.

Hell yea we was cheering when u led laps
I look forward to hearing Kevin Harvick broadcasting races next year.

Kevin’s a class act.
I noticed Harvick won't sign at the track , even for people with his colors on .. is this a germ thing like Jamie McMurray ? just curious
❤

I've always like the fact that the #3 and #29-4 have in common! You will not Intemadate me!!!

I was at the Bristol race when Chase screwed him out of the win, Kevin was as mad as I have ever seen him and he had every right to be mad
Not gonna lie I'm gonna miss Kevin like I miss Jr
Now get Carl Edward's and Kevin to commentate a race. That would be awesome.
i remember. i was there because it was the only chance i had to see you and dale jr race. i was pretty disappointed.
Harvick's first cup race, 24 was on the pole, race was won by the 1. Harvick's last race, 24 had the pole, race was won by the 1.
Wow
Was listening to Dave Moody on s/Xmas yesterday and there was a team member that was on both teams I can't remember the name
What a tough last season undermined by his team and crew chief, should’ve had 2 wins minimum
Rodney alone cost him the first Phoenix race, first martinsvile race and even Daytona picking the wrong line on the restart. Bonehead moves. Rodney is one of the best in the garage to set up cars but can’t call a race to save his life
@@Ktaurus26 Agreed, glad someone else sees the truth
I remember Kevin's angst for Kirk Busch. He used to call him Rubber Neck, because of his Rubber Maid sponser. Lol
I remember him calling Greg Biffle Bug Eyes😅

Good thing he went to #29
There was no Dale Earnhardt Sr.. There was Dale Earnhardt and Dale Jr
A lot of athletes say theyd drop everything to play on Sundays or play meaningful games...but they hate camp and hate practice

That archery target?
We miss you.
Lewis hamilton
Drinking high rock as I'm watching this
It's sad cause Kevin in the right equipment he could easily win
I was never a Chevy fan so, I didn’t like Dale. Kevin was the first and only Chevy driver I ever pulled for. It was just a lot sweeter with Ford.
i think he was trying to tell a story for 30 years.
Kevin isn't wrong with the competitive mindset
Skeletor the twink!
Kevin is the last link to Dale Earnhardt racing still don't go
Thanks for being a constant jerk that we really enjoyed pulling against. Well there’s always Hamlin.
In 5 or 6 years, no one will remember he raced lol he wont even be in the top 10 all time win list
I doubt that
❤
