- First, I wanna thank my teammates. Thank you for putting up with me. Thank you for helping shape a kid full of piss and vinegar.
Thank you for doing your best to keep me out of trouble.
Thank you for keeping me alive.
To my superiors/commanders, I’m sorry for all you had to put up with. The middle age man version of me would’ve probably destroyed that kid that showed up to your team room.
When you’re in the public eye, as I have been for some time now, you expect to be scrutinized. That comes with the territory.
What you don’t expect is to have members of your own community rip apart painful stories that you’ve laid bare to the best of your ability. Stories that were corroborated by multiple people. Stories that passed legal review. Stories that passed extensive DOD review.
Do I think the battle happened exactly the way I remember it 16 years later? No, I don’t. Which is why I addressed that in the introduction to my book.
Scars and Stripes was originally called “Failure is Not Final” but the publisher thought we needed a more upbeat and catchy name. Name change notwithstanding, I’m proud of the book. I’m proud of the people I talk about in the book. I’m proud of my service.
In this video I address some of the things the podcast charged me with. I know it will not satisfy them as they make their money by trying to bring people down with more followers than they possess.
I also know it will not satisfy their most steadfast supporters. I look forward to hearing about 50 grenades from no name private accounts on pictures of my kids until the day I die. It’s not my first internet rodeo.
For those of you are reasonable, I ask that you listen to what I have to say, assess whether it is more likely that I fabricated all this stuff and all the people around me and DOD just went along with it, or whether someone went through the book in the least gracious way possible in order to profit off of my name.
In either case, I thank you all the support and attention you’ve given me over the years. I will never be worthy of it. I will always appreciate it.

The only issue here is lying for personal gain. People seem to get that confused with whether or not he was a good soldier, or a UFC badass or did more good than bad. I’m sure he was a great soldier. He’s obviously an MMA badass, and I’m sure he has done more good in his life than harm. But none of that is the point. The point the antihero podcast is making is that he undeniably lied in his book and on social media for personal gain/profit. I’m fine with profiting off telling your story, but if it’s in a nonfiction book, it better be truthful. Lying is never right. It never has been and never will be. If we don’t have objective truth, honesty and integrity, then we are bankrupt as a society. I would expect to be able to trust the word of a war hero. Unfortunately in Tim Kennedy’s case, I don’t trust a word he says now. The antihero podcast guys are just trying to hold their community to a reasonable standard. Tim’s lies hurt the veteran community. Veteran or not, lying is wrong particularly when you make millions of dollars off of your lies.

The funny thing about that is that there is a DD 214 review when you leave AD. There’s an actual mandatory event that is there solely to fix missing/incorrect issues on your 214.

You knew you were an Honor Grad of Ranger school when Ranger department say you were not? You can't remember the awards you got. Finally, I was the NCOIC of SFARTAETC, so now you have lied about something I can verify all day long. There is no way you went twice and graduated twice. No F'ing way. If you graduated SFARTAETC or graduated OTC, you would not be allowed to enter SFARTAETC a second time, They would not give up a slot to you when you already have the skill. During my time only one guy who add graduated OTC went to SFARTAETC, and that was because he was taking a CSM slot in a CIF and he wanted to attend the same training as his men. That's honor Tim, so he was allowed to attend SFARTAETC. That CSM was not named Tim Kennedy. You lied again.
He received the "Leadership Award" for Ranger School, not the enlisted honor graduate award. He attended SFARTAETC with B 1/7 that was to replace the CIF while they were in Iraq. The SFARTAETC that B 1/7 received at Range 37 was above that of SFAUC, but less than SFARTAETC and no skill identifiers were given to the class. Upon the CIFs return from Iraq rotation, he attended SFARTAETC again for the identifier.

Appreciate your service. Disagree with your position on gun control. FYI - "well regulated militia" does not provide the government the right to regulate gun ownership. That is a preamble to the 2A, not the actual ammendment. The 2A says the right to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed. Also FYI - "well regulated" meant well trained. There were absolutely no laws or government agencies regulating gun ownership till the NFA in 1934. 150 years of NO REGULATION. Sorry to say but you are wrong about "well regulated."

Briefly on the Purple Heart. I got some shrapnel in a FF 2004. Rubbed some dirt on it and didn’t pay much attention. After deployment I was unexpectedly awarded the PH. I’m not sure who documented it. Point being If it was not I would be in the same situation. The scars without the award.

As a combat Marine vet, I love Tim. I could care less about all the other shit talkers. He was in combat he did his job. We are all lucky that we did our job and were able to come home.
I’m going to assume you were an 0311. Imagine a fire support marine attached to your company wrote a book about your deployment. And in this book he talks about how in between calling gun runs he was also sniping bad guys with your sniper platoon. However the only other sniper with him ended being killed in action on your next deployment. So this fire support marine is now using your sniper buddies name to at the very least embellish and at the worst outright lie about this story. And it’s all for personal gain. How would that make you feel?

90% of what Tim does is for the monetary value. The only thing he did, that wasn't directly for the money, was the Army. Even as a Green Barret he isn't "raking in the cashing." But everything he's done since then, I don't believe he would have done any of it, if it wasn't for the monetary value that would.come from it.

Funny story. I separated in 1992, and moved back to Massachusetts in 2008 to care for my dad. I learned MA was offering bonuses for veterans for serving in Desert Shield/Storm/Calm. So I submitted the application along with what I believed was sufficient evidence of my time in Saudi. Got rejected, with the reasoning being I wasn't awarded a certain medal believe it was the Southwest Asia medal. Well I hadn't heard of it, so I wrote the then Secretary of the Air Force explaining the situation and submitted my DD214 and the like. About 11 months later i was presented with a DD215 Amended, was given that medal and two others they overlooked as well along with an apology. So I know first hand this can happen.
This happens all the time. They tried to deny my service connection and I had to submit all my info pretty much saying bullshit lol and a few months later I was awarded. I still need to amend my DD214. There is a ton of shit that's not on it but that I have all my paperwork for. Glad you got it handled 👍
Fair enough. To that point, if Tim's record is inaccurate then, as a public figure who is claiming these accomplishments and experiences, then he needs to get his paperwork amended and address the outstanding questions. I'm not military (I have military people in my family, though) but people who are knowledgeable aren't convinced by his stories.
Funny after I retired from the army in 08 I moved to Arizona to take care of my suck mom and after she passed in 2010 I moved to back to ma lol I’m originally from Brockton but bought a house in weymouth I did not want to raise my kid in Brockton and I lived that city but it’s not the same place I grew up

Curious about this myself 🤔 and not just his commanding officer, but the commander. Presumably a captain. Just doesn’t jive to me. 🤔 I’ve only seen something like that play out once. And it was in the HBO series “Generation Kill” where they refused to medivac a civilian. Ironically a similar story. Very similar 🤔
