Well, her method of getting rid of Empyrean flesh was one-trick anyways. Mark of centipede could only be carved once, and it already happened. Miquella had to tread the hard way.

So lets get this straight. Miquella want Rahdan as consort to become a God like Marika. Rahdan said reject femboy, embrace Gravity Magic. Miquella didn't take the rejection well, so he sent Malenia to nuke Rahdan and Caelid. Make sense.
Nope, Radahn wanted that bussy all along. He went from being a giant dude with super rabies on a little horse. Now he's a PDF file with no little horse instead he has his little shota half-brother riding him 😐.
Miquella; “It’s worthless and weak, why do you keep that old horse around.” Rahdan: “…Four Liters…” Miquella: “What?” Rahdan; “That’s how much blood you’re going to swallow…” (He said raising his greatswords)
The Mohglester sacrificed himself so that no-one else may fall for the corrupting powers of Bussy. GOD BLESS THE MAN, AND GOD BLESS THE FORMLESS MOTHER!!!
But before you burn it all down. Just take the moment to appreciate what they did. Malenia explicitly supported and backed this. The entire reason she went to Caelid and tried to kill Radahn was to make this ship sail. The entire point of all of this is to set up and execute a Japanese wordplay joke. Malenia truly is the goddess of rot. A rotten girl to the core. The unparalleled and undefeated fujoshi.

I have this explained, but this is a long one: There's actually no hint to this, it seems everyone knew, and agreed, including Radahn and Malenia. Reason why Miquella sent his sister to kill Radahn was because he was under the influence of a great rune and forgot his promise to Miquella, Malenia was along with it because in a helm description it said, "Miquella awaits thee, O' Promised Consort", and if you remember the cinematics where they fought, she says something but we couldn't hear, it was already hinted at before the base game even came out. But because she used scarlet bloom to defeat him it didn't kill him so Miquella had to manipulate Mogh to get his body somewhere else to where he could access the realm of shadows. Which was revealed in the DLC by Moghs follower. Then we kill Mogh and Radahn, two of the requirements to get into the DLC, therefore allowing Radahn to finally die and Miquella uses Moghs body but bc he is the Lord of Blood, Radahn is able to have his form come to fruition due to the malleable body, which we saw when his body came from blood, but since it's still his body you can see Omen horns on Radahns Gauntlet. And another thing Miquella *needed* a consort that wasn't an emperyan to ascend to Godhood and from a remembrance we know Miquella had a crush on Radahn and if it was going to be anyone it was going to be him, and Radahn promised. This would also bring the Carian family back with the Golden Order aligning their families to peace.

@@Bourbon9203 yea it really sucks lore and gameplay wise. I was really hoping for Godwny as after fighting Mesmer he is the only demigod we don’t fight
@sparktwochristopher7240 Mention about giving his brother a proper death and causing an eclipse (likely meant to be Godwyn since he was never used, and 'lives in death', plus with Radahn having been an optional boss in the main game.) Kinda feel bad about Mohg now, he was just chilling with people who were outcasts and accepted by the Formless Mother. The whole caelid war was probably because Radahn didn't agree to the vow, what with the holding the stars in place to restrict fate. Mohg was under his control, that same body now has Radahn's soul shoved in it. His eyes are literally glowing gold. If it was something he agreed to, Miquella wouldn't have needed Malenia to 'kill' him. (Dude really said "We can do this the easy way, or the hard way, the choice is yours...") Plus the armor description about about the Caelid fight. (Radahn heard a murmur in his ear- "Miquella awaits thee, O promised consort") Radahn was literally fighting against Miquella's faction, so they just killed him and took his soul, so Miquella could get what he wanted either way. Feels like they just flipped the main boss of the DLC to Radahn instead, like I had thought it would similar to Great Ones dreaming in Bloodborne. That way both Miquella and Godwyn would fit into the story.
No You missed the point of all this. All of this was the setup and delivery to the best joke of our generation. Malenia supported Miquela's desire to bone Radahn. Did everything in her power to support it. She truly is the goddess of rot. A rotten girl to the core. A fujoshi without compare.
Really feels like a slap in the face. Ontop of that the performance is horrible and honestly i hate the color pallette. It's DS2 all over again. Lol lore? What lore!
Dude, he barely has a couple of new things to show and rest of it's his basic move set from his normal phase before he enters in second phase. They made him worse here somehow and it is laughable. If they were going to reuse many important bosses here from the base game, they should have given them the Laurence treatment from bloodborne. Now that's how you reuse a boss from the base game and take him to the next level here, and it is very great and good to see it work. However here there is nothing of that, in fact they just made so many important bosses from the base game look so bad after this fight and they are not here, like holy cows, this is hilarious lmao 😂
Yeah this didn't feel like a final boos, not even to a singular quest line. It feels like the boss fight before the final boss, kind of like Godfrey's fight. Imagine if Laurence was the final boss of the old hunters dlc, this is what this feels like.

Yeah, if you're a long time souls fan, you'll know that not only is this DLC an amalgamation of all of there cut content, but isn't even being made by the same people. The amount of people that have been replaced since Elden Rings launch is not only sad, but now much more understandable, since Miyazaki took the death of the Berserk series really hard.

No. Malenia was trying to kill Radahn to make him Miquella's consort. Malenia was in on Miquella's plan. Also, Mohg was apparently manipulated by Miquella the whole time as well.
How? Radahn being the final boss makes perfect sense. It perfectly explains why Malenia was after Radahn (even foreshadowed by Malenia's whispering in the very first cinematic), why Radahn was holding back Ranni's fate, and there was no one else that could've filled the spot instead of him. Godwyn is long dead, and the entire game revolves around how he's the one Demigod that TRULY died, so he wouldn't work. There's no character assassination here, only subversion, since everything we knew about Miquella was from his devoted followers anyway. Radahn here is being mind-controlled, so his noble background remains true.
Not only was the radahn boss done already the concept of the two brothers boss fight was also done in dark souls 3. For a final dlc boss fight it feels so underwhelming

from what ive heard this is the bad / evil ending. Theres supposedly 2 other ending bosses, St Trina and Empyrean of the Three Fingers. We havent seen any footage of either yet tho
That’s what I kept thinking too. Radahn’s arena fight/festival was such a grand spectacle that obviously had a lot of care and thought put into it. Meanwhile this fight, while not necessarily bad…is a tad bit underwhelming in comparison. Definitely left me expecting more. I kept thinking maybe it’ll be a three part boss fight. Either we’d fight Micky himself or Radahn (given his idolization of Godfrey and the similar imagery to Miquella’s on Radahn’s back, like Serosh on Horah’s.) would pull something similar to breaking free from Serosh as Godfrey had done in his fight. Just expected something more to it than what we got😅
I ain’t gonna lie I just beat this myself and ended up so unsatisfied, and not bcuz I think the dlc is bad like no I think it was great I did enjoy it overall. Am I supposed to speak to someone and then something else happens that leads to the dlc ending? Idk man ending was unsatisfying.
It wasn't an ending, it was a massive retcon. That's why it feels so bad. 2 years for the DLC, when games take that long it's because they had to scrap what they had and restart. I'm sure the original draft was better and actually made sense, this one is just fanservice, subverting expectations, "it's been long enough just get it done" story. They cooked too long.
i mean past dlcs for fromsoft games just ended with you killing a boss and literally that was it. touch bonfire and go back to main story or clean up the rest of the dlc. will say the length of shadows of the erdtree def lends itself to there being a much more "ending" feel to beating the final boss but apparently fromsoft didn't see much reason to put much more into it.
Surely if you're bringing anyone back it's Melania? How about a Marika fight? Maybe even Dragonlord Placidusax with all 5 heads? Love Radahn but I dunno just a little disappointed tbh 😢
@marceloazcona8032 miquella is male. He is cursed to look young forever and he happened to look more like his mother this ending suggest he is into men but yeah
Actually, unrelated to the DLC, but the patch associated with the game improved Elden Beast dramatically, since they apparently noticed that they forgot to enable Torrent for the fight after 2 years
It's also crazy that we don't have a choice to not fight them. I think a lot of players would choose to let them usher in a new age. We have choices for multiple endings, why can't we choose this? We can choose to betray the erdtree and destroy the world even...
Laziness, incompetence, something like that. Wait for a fanboy to tell me I’m wrong or a lorebuff to scour the entire internet for every scrap of info to suggest, distantly, maybe, I could be wrong
This is what enrages me about Miyazaki's story-writing style. He feels this cringe need to consistently make his games in a grimdark setting that gets worse as the game progresses. This has to have been the worst example by far. Miquella wanted to make the world better, gentler, and we were in a great position to help him, join him even. We are made to kill our companions and fight him without a choice to make for ourselves. Would it really kill Miyazaki to have given us a game or DLC where we could have a happy ending? Join Miquella even? If he doesn't, someone else REALLY should.
it wouldn't be a soulsborne game if it had any semblance of a happy ending, plus this is a big stretch but the miquella/radahn situation has parallels to griffith/guts, both seemingly benevolent and compassionate characters at the start but no better than marika/the godhand
THIS is the final boss? THIS? FromSoftware, what the hell happened to you? This has got to be GRRM just writing the ENTIRE story of the DLC because what the HELL MAN.
Long story short. Miquella charmed Mohg to kiddnap him and manipulate him. Meaning Mohg was not as evil as we first thought he was. He also sent Malenia to kill Radahn so he could rebuild Radahn into his consort as he was in love with him. Radahn by the way rebelled to protect Ranni from the golden order. We can also learn what Malenia did tell Radahn during thier fight. Anyway we kill Mohg and Radahn in main game, then Miquella uses their bodies and soul of Radahn to rebuild him. If you do lot of side quests you can summon up to to npcs to help you in final fight. Namely sir Ansbach and Thiollier whose quest is about Saint Trina who tells you to kill Miquella so he can atone for lot of other bad stuff he did. Hope this clears some of the things. There are still two very important bosses. Namely mother of fingers and Midra the old guy from portrait. He is lord of frenzied flame. And some othe smaller things.
@@guilhermetpp Kinda implied. Since he seems to be in love with Radahn. Though he did had female half which he seemingly cast out. That half is more likely Trina who is not pleased with Miquella. Okay and ? None if any Fromsoft DLC trailer ever actually hype up their final boss, Old Hunters next to no mention of Orphan of Kos, Artorios of The Abyss next to no mention of Manus, Ringed City where was all the Gael hype ? Nonexistent, etc...
People are overlooking that every demigod has some "noble ambition" that corrpts them to do awful things. A case could be made for Mohg's struggle the same someone could explain Malenia's or any other's, but at the end of the day they all try to justify the means to their ends. We the tarnished are no different, we are cast into a cruel world, cursed, and left to fight just to become corrupted by forces ourselves. This kind of story telling is not new at all to FromSoft and I think people are just upset because they expected something different, when the narrative built this up from the start.
Alright as far as we can gather from the item descriptions in the dlc: Miquella manipulated everyone with his beguiling charm, except Radahn wasn't ever manipulated by him. Because of this, Miquella ordered Malenia to nuke Radahn and coerce, pretty much force him into becoming his lord and consort. He likely did this so he can ascend into full godhood? Also we don't know what his main goal was but he does want to make the world a kinder gentler place so maybe he wanted to manipulate the world into being peaceful? In any case what a whiplash wow
No coercion, it was all consensual. The Caelid thing happened entirely because Radahn wouldn’t let Miquella smash until he and Malenia helped him cosplay as Godfrey and have an epic battle. It was basically a big ‘ol bachelor party for Radahn before he tied the knot with Miquella and helped him usher in the Age of -Consent- Compassion.
Radahn consented to Miquella but became corrupted by the greater rune. Malenia was sent to kill Radahns flesh so Miquella could reunite with his soul in the lands of shadows. Malenia failed to kill Radahn but she ended up blooming in Caelid splurging rot everywhere. We, the tarnished, inadvertently help Miquella by killing Radahn
It’s funny cuz radahn in base game was literately 100 times better and and it feels he’s was stronger that this "prime" radahn lol, what a bad ending boss.
How underwhelming. General Radahn fight is so underwhelming. The boss lacks agression and neither punishes players for playing too passive nor punishes them for playing too aggressive as i have seen in another video where the dude was cheesing Radahn with a giant hammer .
No bro, Having faced him for myself, I can confidently say 1v1, No summons, He is by far the hardest Souls boss I've ever faced, And the reason for that is because he's TOO aggressive lol trust me, He's insane.
Radahn always refused Miquella, it's just that he's obsessed with Radahn. So he sends Malenia to kill him, so he can bring him back as a puppet. Radahn's "fate" was just his half brother's Targaryn mental illness.

Probably would have been better if Radahn had been midway point boss, while Messmer should have been the final boss. I dont think many people would have complained.
I’ve never been more let down in my entire life by this ending and final boss. We didn’t even get to fight a resurrected Godwyn. I thought Miquella was going to turn himself into an actual God and we were going to have a crazy 3 phase fight or something. Unreal.
Radahn finally achieves his dream of becoming Godfrey, with Miquella becoming Serosh. Man started out as a fanboy and ended up becoming the hero he always looked up to.
In short, Miquella tricked everyone. Flamed Mohg, got obsessed with a childhood promise. Radahn stopped fate, so Miquella sent Malenia to kill him so he could trap him in the Shadow Realm. She failed, the Festival happened, amd we finished the task. Miquella used Mohg's body to stick Radahn's essence to make this version of him. That's why he doesn't say anything.
Not gonna lie... this DLC's story f**king sucks, at least when it came to Miquella's part in it. Seriously, it canonized one of the worst possible ways to explain why Malenia and Radahn fought... which is ultimately summarized as "Miquella was Gay for Radahn". Like... really? It couldn't have been ANYTHING more interesting or sensical? This just screams GRR Martin writing; not the good kind but the cringe kind where he lets out his fetishes. I’m sorry…but this feels so ham-fisted and fan-servicey. You can tell that this was never, ever planned for their characters. ALL the Demi gods were at war with eachother, that was the reason Malenia fought Radahn, nothing more. They wanted to use Radahn so bad we had our “somehow he returned” moment with using Mohgs body for his soul??? Really?????
Finally someone not sucking Miyazakis meat... this was dissapointing as hell. I've given elden ring at least 200 hours, 6+ runs, and in the end I realise that apart from the scenery, music and art, almost every boss feels like a chore, boring, tedious, etc., there are 5 enjoyable bosses out of 100+ and now they come and drop this garbage to also keep recycling bosses from the main game. I'm done lol
If a had a nickel for every time brothers ride eachother in Soulsborne series i would have two nickels. Which isn't a lot but it's weird that it happened twice
Sorry, I have to be honest. I feel disappointed. This is like the lamest major boss of the whole dlc. We already know Radahn. There isn't even a unique ending for the main game, just this memory.
After 2 years in development, I at least thought we'd fight Miquella or Godwyn alive as a boss. That would be so much cooler. From a lore perspective my only annoyance is that Radahn barely had any connection to Miquella. Out of ALL the characters, he is the LAST guy I'd expect to fight at the end of a Miquella DLC. Hell, they would have given us a pre-rot Melina, or a pre-insanity Mohg if they wanted to reuse a boss. But Radahn? Really?
@luxinvictus9018 seems like someone didn't understand what is happening and also what a freak Miquella is... also, Miquella isn't a Warrior regarding to lore, so i really can't see the logic behind fighting him, since by previous experiences on Fromsoft games, the DLC is always overall harder than the base game The reason you must defeat Radahn and Mohg is that Miquella is a freak that placed Radahn's soul inside Mohg's body, but completely nullifying any free will Radahn has. So basically Radahn itself is being controlled by Miquella for the purpose of having the Strongest Demigod (+ Mohg's Omen Powers) and lead him to become Elden Lord eventually... Miquella is an Empirean, a receptacle of a god, so when Radahn (being controlled) becomes Elden Lord, Miquella would be God AND Lord. You wanted a battle against Miquella? you got it, but bear in mind like i said that he is not a Warrior, and that's why when you defeat Radahn, the text says "God" and not "Legend" or "Demigod", you defeated Miquella.
@@Epistolary8 completely agree with you, but don't worry, people will reply to you by saying things like "if it's in the game, it is to be used", "i don't want to spend hours in a boss" or "i don't have time for it", people want an epic battle while also getting the most help possible (take for example someone that summons a "Let me solo her" to defeat Malenia and just sits still watching) or cheesing the boss because are lazy to learn it's patterns. Later on these same people complain about the game while they themselves are ruining their experience. Fromsoft games tend to have something called Progression and Satisfaction, Miyazaki did even say that on an interview, about the amazing feeling and Satisfaction that you get when you find a wall in your path, and you break that obstacle by overcoming it yourself. Thats a feeling i can't say i had anytime i used summons or cheesing tactics, but i guess to each their own, after all, even if we get a hard game like it used to be in old times, that actually provides a challenge, we are in the Inclusion era, a time where every game must have an Easy Mode (Mostly speaking of Journalists), so "everyone can enjoy". Damn. My guy Radahn cant catch a break. Gets Scarlet rotted just to be revived back and mind controlled by miquella
The bussy does that to people
I have this explained, but this is a long one:
There's actually no hint to this, it seems everyone knew, and agreed, including Radahn and Malenia.

Am I supposed to speak to someone and then something else happens that leads to the dlc ending? Idk man ending was unsatisfying.
It seems like a retcon too. Why is he the final boss but not Godywn or really anyone besides him
It wasn't an ending, it was a massive retcon. That's why it feels so bad. 2 years for the DLC, when games take that long it's because they had to scrap what they had and restart. I'm sure the original draft was better and actually made sense, this one is just fanservice, subverting expectations, "it's been long enough just get it done" story. They cooked too long.
Ya gonna be waiting months before valid criticism is going to be listened too without any fromsoftsexual screaming at you.
Yeah I didn't think that was the ending either. Still really good though
i mean past dlcs for fromsoft games just ended with you killing a boss and literally that was it. touch bonfire and go back to main story or clean up the rest of the dlc.
will say the length of shadows of the erdtree def lends itself to there being a much more "ending" feel to beating the final boss but apparently fromsoft didn't see much reason to put much more into it.
Surely if you're bringing anyone back it's Melania? How about a Marika fight? Maybe even Dragonlord Placidusax with all 5 heads? Love Radahn but I dunno just a little disappointed tbh 😢

All this to See Radahn with miquella Attacked on his back
This is what enrages me about Miyazaki's story-writing style.

Miquella is heavily inspired by Griffith from Berserk.
If this is meant to be the good guy then i happily let Chaos take the world.
You mean american move cuz he is gay and who wrote it GGR martin 🎉🎉🎉🎉
Nah miquella is just manipulative
People are overlooking that every demigod has some "noble ambition" that corrpts them to do awful things. A case could be made for Mohg's struggle the same someone could explain Malenia's or any other's, but at the end of the day they all try to justify the means to their ends. We the tarnished are no different, we are cast into a cruel world, cursed, and left to fight just to become corrupted by forces ourselves. This kind of story telling is not new at all to FromSoft and I think people are just upset because they expected something different, when the narrative built this up from the start.
I can't wait for the mod community to change the final boss sound track to Sweet Home Alabama.

I never tought Messmer was the final boss because every Fromsoft Soulsborne DLC trailer was not show their final boss, but this one is 💀
In short, Miquella tricked everyone. Flamed Mohg, got obsessed with a childhood promise. Radahn stopped fate, so Miquella sent Malenia to kill him so he could trap him in the Shadow Realm. They wanted to use Radahn so bad we had our “somehow he returned” moment with using Mohgs body for his soul??? Really?????
Finally someone not sucking Miyazakis meat... this was dissapointing as hell. I've given elden ring at least 200 hours, 6+ runs, and in the end I realise that apart from the scenery, music and art, almost every boss feels like a chore, boring, tedious, etc., there are 5 enjoyable bosses out of 100+ and now they come and drop this garbage to also keep recycling bosses from the main game. bruh that corpse stacks not as grand as it in the trailer wtf
It’s been a couple thousand years since then (maybe, we don’t really know how much time passed)
Sorry, I have to be honest. I feel disappointed. This is like the lamest major boss of the whole dlc. We already know Radahn. There isn't even a unique ending for the main game, just this memory.
This just feels like a phase 3 main game Radahn. Its kind of ass to fight too, it just feels unfinished.
But Radahn? Really?
@luxinvictus9018 seems like someone didn't understand what is happening and also what a freak Miquella is... also, Miquella isn't a Warrior regarding to lore, so i really can't see the logic behind fighting him, since by previous experiences on Fromsoft games, the DLC is always overall harder than the base game
The reason you must defeat Radahn and Mohg is that Miquella is a freak that placed Radahn's soul inside Mohg's body, but completely nullifying any free will Radahn has.
@topical6574 this battle is much, much cooler when fought solo. This gangbang does so much injustice to the actual boss himself.
