I unironically want this version of waterfowl to be in the base game. Yes it looks worse since it's longer, but it's atually a bit slower (especially with the pauses between flurries) and doesn't have the hyperspeed jumps that can only be avoided by not only timing the roll right but also aiming it very precisely. Everything Malenia does in the base game I can handle except waterfowl. Also this version of her doesn't seem to have that wierd thing the basegame version has where some of her attacks seem to alter their parry window timing every time, making it more consistent and feeling a lot like a Sekiro fight.
It can be made even harder by making half her images do waterfowl dance and half her images do scarlet aconia. Her attacks would basically cover up the whole arena

This is both simultaneously one of the coolest and most horrifying things I have ever seen. This version of waterfowl seems vastly more manageable than the one we got, and some of the attacks in phase 2 are just beautiful and terrifying. So glad the flower doesn’t stay there too…

The original version of the game had 2 waterfowls. But for some unthinkable fucking reason, Miyazaki thought that the current version of waterfowl is somehow completely fair enough to put in the game compared to the og version. The og version was better than the one shown in this video as well.

Quite interestingly Millicent was originally not a spawn of Malenia but malenia herself and She would slowly regain her memories throughout the journey to the haligtree and be friendly Until she remembered her duty to her brother

This fight really seems to be very difficult, extremely precise and well-placed movements, I imagine the absurd amount of time that was spent training to finally be able to hit Ongbal, congratulations Malenia, phenomenal fight.

So some sick person looked at Waterfall Dance and thought: it should be twice as long and with better tracking! And then what if she did her clone attack right out of scarlet eonia, and then one of her clones did WFD? And then what if the player couldn't see anything because the whole arena was filled with scarlet rot fumes? I'm legit scared. Not of Malenia, of this modder.
Surprisingly, this mod seems pretty well designed compared to many others. There are many mods that turn bosses into pure bs just to make them as hard as possible even if they're not fun. This one, instead, tries to make the boss as hard as possible while still being fun for the people good enough to master it. Of course, it's a very fine line, but I think the mod deserves a lot of praise for it
@@Saixga this mod deserves all the praise, tbh. During the whole fight, the moveset was comprehensible. Batshit insane, but very well telegraphed. Also, as far as I know, the clones in the mist phase are scripted. So the only invisible part of the battle is down to 20 seconds of memory.

Love the idea of the blooms staying behind reducing the fighting area. The fog concealing the bloom clones is also a really nice touch. Well done in this fight
The only "harder boss" mod that is actually good. Combining cinematic beauty with difficulty of that magnitude is honestly amazing. The DLC better be something on that level
If the DLC had something like it would be garbage, it would also limit weapon and spell diversity to lame and quick attacks. The player should also be able to feel like a badass too instead of just watching. Which the DLC of BB and DS3 captured greatly.

I've nohit Malenia several times, including at RL1, but I'll be damned if this mod didn't crush my spirit. Big respect for beating this; I couldn't even get through phase 1.

I really don't know what was more frightening, the extended Waterfowl Dance, the twin Waterfowl Dance, the twin extended Waterfowl Dance, or the feint/delays at 0:40. Oh wait... I think I'm just frightened by EVERYTHING this Malenia is.
I wish we could activate hard mode and this is the version we get, that way you have the default Malenia everyone can struggle against and still get this epic more lore accurate feeling Malenia. This is a sick mod.
I may be a madman, but this is what I want to see when I hear difficult but optional bosses. Current Malenia is tough, but she's not insane to deal with. (Maybe a bit less HP though since you won't be hitting her a lot)
I would literally never beat this fight, but this is so much better than what we got to really showcase the magnitude of her strength as the Goddess of Rot! I hope if the DLC is really about Miquella, and the tease that she'll bloom again means we'll get to fight her again with elements of this fight cranked up even more. If the DLC doesn't make me question my sanity, it isn't worth it haha
When I saw him pull out Azure Comet I started laughing because I thought he wanted to end it while she was doing a animation, that laughing abruptly stopped when I saw her health bar struggle to go up very quickly against said azure comet. A lot of this bosses movement with the after mirages remind me of the DLC's Final Boss move set as well.

Malenia, before turning into the goddess of rot can only use scarlet aeonia 3 times. And she used 1 for Radahn, 1 before and the last for us. So neither actually went all out and probably was using weapons and skills only until Malenia decided to use scarlet aeonia

Surprisingly, this mod seems pretty well designed compared to many others. There are many mods that turn bosses into pure bs just to make them as hard as possible even if they're not fun. This one, instead, tries to make the boss as hard as possible while still being fun for the people good enough to master it. Of course, it's a very fine line, but I think the mod deserves a lot of praise for it
@@Saixga this mod deserves all the praise, tbh. During the whole fight, the moveset was comprehensible. Batshit insane, but very well telegraphed. Also, as far as I know, the clones in the mist phase are scripted. So the only invisible part of the battle is down to 20 seconds of memory.

The Unalloyed version makes it more fitting as the Lady Tomoe bossfight we were supposed to have in Sekiro.
I've never seen him scared to death but this time is very different. Look how massively he leveled health. He never levels HP which means he's been dying until this attempt

That looks wildly difficult. You know it's crazy difficult if ONGBAL gets hit. If it was like this in the base game, I would've quit. Hell, I almost quit after 70+ attempts on base game Malenia. 😭
I know this would have made me cry if I had to fight it. But God is it beautiful. It would have been so nice to see this version make it into the game.

Love the idea of the blooms staying behind reducing the fighting area. The fog concealing the bloom clones is also a really nice touch. Well done in this fight
The only "harder boss" mod that is actually good. Combining cinematic beauty with difficulty of that magnitude is honestly amazing.
The DLC better be something on that level
If the DLC had something like it would be garbage, it would also limit weapon and spell diversity to lame and quick attacks.
The player should also be able to feel like a badass too instead of just watching. Which the DLC of BB and DS3 captured greatly.
@@dvdivine1962 Brother, Ongbal literally used a greataxe in this video. Clearly he didn't need a fast weapon to beat her. Just be patient and choose your openings. I'm honestly not against a Souls game having a super boss like that as long as it's optional.
@@EwiwasSmile I said quick attacks not a fast weapon, or I should say light attacks. He could barely use its entire moveset and no cool ashes either or stance break.
Super bosses just don't belong in these games, cool to watch but not very engaging to play.

@@dvdivine1962 He actually had way more attack opportunities. Like when he'd sometimes break her stance and not do the riposte. It's just the usual Ongbal flexing. Malenia has one of the lowest poises in the game. He could've staggered her a lot more if he attacked, but he's obviously not tryharding.
Of all the incredibly fun to watch fights I've seen you do, this by far is the only one that made me sit up and audibly go "Holy shit!" Incredible.

I've nohit Malenia several times, including at RL1, but I'll be damned if this mod didn't crush my spirit. Big respect for beating this; I couldn't even get through phase 1.

This probably the most health Ive seen Ongbal have. Usually his health bar is lower than the stamina bar.
An excellent rework. An absolute masterpiece, with the exception of that15 second waterflow. I hate it when boss starts breakdancing for quarter a minute so that I can hit it once

I really don't know what was more frightening, the extended Waterfowl Dance, the twin Waterfowl Dance, the twin extended Waterfowl Dance, or the feint/delays at 0:40. Oh wait... I think I'm just frightened by EVERYTHING this Malenia is.
I wish we could activate hard mode and this is the version we get, that way you have the default Malenia everyone can struggle against and still get this epic more lore accurate feeling Malenia. This is a sick mod.

Love the additional movesets and artistic graphics. I'm glad to have seen that fight before playing it, that mod made the fight look so much better.
I may be a madman, but this is what I want to see when I hear difficult but optional bosses. Current Malenia is tough, but she's not insane to deal with. (Maybe a bit less HP though since you won't be hitting her a lot)

THIS IS INCREDIBLE!! I've seen many, many Ongbal videos and this is probably my favorite. I was truly in awe the entire time
I would literally never beat this fight, but this is so much better than what we got to really showcase the magnitude of her strength as the Goddess of Rot!
I hope if the DLC is really about Miquella, and the tease that she'll bloom again means we'll get to fight her again with elements of this fight cranked up even more. If the DLC doesn't make me question my sanity, it isn't worth it haha

When I saw him pull out Azure Comet I started laughing because I thought he wanted to end it while she was doing a animation, that laughing abruptly stopped when I saw her health bar struggle to go up very quickly against said azure comet. A lot of this bosses movement with the after mirages remind me of the DLC's Final Boss move set as well.
