    Not a chicken my friend, nothing wrong with being cautious, I get very nervous flying my drones because anything can happen and it's gone. Nice video and straight to the point.

    Great video, and good to know. As you know, A Mavic 2 Zoom is on my wish list and 3 miles is pretty impressive! You should get the remote with the built in LCD screen. No more calls interrupting your flight.

    • @MichaelJohnsonProductions
      @MichaelJohnsonProductions  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah man three miles is pretty fair. You are correct I definitely need one of those LCD screen controllers. They are awesome but definitely very expensive. Worth every penny I think though.

    Awesome Job! I freaked out after I did a mile so i returned to home...BTW put your phone in airplane mode so you wont have to worry about phone calls or and kind of notifications.

    • @MichaelJohnsonProductions
      @MichaelJohnsonProductions  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks for watching :) True statement. I should have put it in airplane mode. But I dont like doing that because it's hard for the map to update. At least with my experience. Again thanks for watching :)

      @@MichaelJohnsonProductions You're welcome... Keep them coming. I purchased the smart controller for that very reason... Now I don't have to worry about any of that. Lol

      Oh wow. I wanted to get that smart controller just couldn’t pull the trigger lol. You are right though. That will take care of all the none sense.

    It's not even my Drone Michael. I was nervous for you. That is an expensive item to lose and you use them to earn a living. Great test and glad it all worked out.
    Do they still have to be registered over 50 grams I believe that's the weight.

    • @MichaelJohnsonProductions
      @MichaelJohnsonProductions  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you so much for watching Dave. Yes you still have to be registered if the drone weighs more than 249 grams. Thanks so much for watching :) Im glad it worked out as well lol

      I fly over water all the time for work. It's just different when it's for a TH-cam video lol. But I live in Clewiston FL around Lake Okeechobee.

    I'm researching for a mavic 3 range test and I cam accross your video. Have you ever broken the 4.6km range?
    Just a trick I've learned from another drone operator, your antenna should be spaced away from each other, the 90 degree position is correct, but they have to be spaced apart until you hit a somewhat click/lock. End result will have them slightly tilted kinda like these \_/ - not that extreme - but you get the idea.
    I've once gotten 7,990 meters at 250-320m alt with my Mavic 2 Pro. Just about 8km range and I could have pushed a little bit more I believe, only I needed to hover on that specific location to shoot a target.
    A good rule of thumb is the higher altitude you fly the better the range. Just keep in mind the position of the antenna and where you aim the flat side.
    Happy flying mate.

      Nice. I no longer have this drone. I fly the DJI Air 2s now which dont have any Antennas on the controller lol. But I do appreciate the advice.
