Mavic Pro 2 is not 100% good Camera support no 60FPS ore more So for me no Mavic Pro 2. Mavic Air Support 60FPS and more. Also the price €1500 too expensive
When changing manually and still seeing slight overexposure, you should change the speed faster than 1/60. 1/60 is fairly slow and will pick up wobble and unintended movements. Bump up the shutter speed .When shooting by helicopter I set manually at 100 asa/iso 1/500th sec at f5.6 for ideal exposures on a sunny day.
When you're in active track and want to follow a faster object like a car you need to disable the Safe option, which is on the left side of the screen.
did you consider the high voltage power lines appear to be higher than 13800 I think those are 150kV live and eddy or EMF could affect the drone response Try it away from powerlines for tracking
Sean Maeder the type of flying I do requires a familiarity with the FAA and their protocols, and they take their jobs very seriously, and part 107 is no exception. It’s no surprise, from a pilot’s perspective, drones scare the crap out of me. However, many of us own them, I own a Mavic too... that’s how I know how scary it is. Pilots and the FAA really really appreciate people who have knowledge of airspace and air traffic procedures, but they will fine you for blatant violations... that being said, they are a lot like an old dog, just don’t be the toddler tugging on his ears...
I am retired FAA and what you are doing on video can get you in serious trouble if they wish, and the fines would shut you down. Driving the car was bad enough but "admitting" your drone is out of line of sight when you were not driving is another. It does not matter if you are hobbyist or pro, you are in violation of these rules and you are providing great evidence.
You broke almost every safety and common sense limit, and then publish it so turning the general population into thinking we need ever tighter regulation. Great footage, great tech.
Hello from Harrisburg Pennsylvania 🇺🇸 I have the Mavic Pro & Phantom 4Pro Why or should I ask should I upgrade to get this Mavic Pro 2 or keep what I have ?
Tony Parker you should keep what you have, both phantom and Mavic pro 1 are great. This is just my opinion but I reckon you should wait for Mavic 3 pro when it comes out
When hand catching i've found that if you just keep your hand flat instead of trying to grab it, then most times it will just land in your hand without trying to fight you and sounding like a giant angry bee 😂
@@felicianoabe nope not necessary to turn it off, just hold your hand out still and it just lands in your palm (well atleast it does it on the Mavic Pro Platinum) , but maybe it could be different on the new Mavic 2 cos it has different sensors on the bottom
In photography proper exposure for any given scene is determined by three basic settings, which can be altered via changing any one or more of those three. If a photo is too dark, increasing the ISO, decreasing the shutter speed, or increasing the lens opening will compensate. If it is too bright, do the opposite. The rule of thumb for camera settings on a typical bright sunny day as you're experiencing (but still too much exposure for snow or beach scenes) is to use ISO 100, shutter speed = 1/ISO or 1/100 sec, and lens opening f/16. Since you cannot close the lens down to f/16, try increasing the shutter speed, or decreasing the ISO to get proper exposure. Bright sunny day - limit of f/11 on the lens still results in overexposure at 1/60 second. What to do? Decrease the sensitivity, i.e ISO. And continue increasing your shutter speed, i.e. 1/125, 1/250, or even faster if there's nothing preventing doing so. Then you can start opening your lens more, toward f/5.6 if needed as f/11 is the limit it allows. Hope this helps.
The problem is that in video you don't want the shutter speed to be anything but double the framerates ie 25 fps shutter speed 1/50, 24 fps shutter speed 1/48 and so on... to keep the motion blur cinematic. Nd filters are needed for bright days if you want good quality video.
With the Mavic 2 pro you can change the home location based on where the controller is in case you leave the original take off location. It will return home to the controller.
Jeremy Nice video but just to point out something what may help. Using f/11 at mavic sensor size is quite bad idea. I won't close down the aperture more than f/8 and even that only if there is no other way. What is happening with your quality when you closing aperture so much is that you getting sharp corners of your photos/videos but center of your footage is loosing sharpness because light is getting through very small hole before it hits the sensor and while basically banding the way of light on the way to sensor it results in bad quality.
Increasing the shutter speed brings the exposure down. you don't need filters. Because the light is always changing I always use a white card to set the white balance in the custom settings. That way the colours always look correct. If the white balance is a bit off the colours will be a bit off too.
paul Smith shutter speed affect motion in video so i prefer don’t change it too much and since its 10 bit colorspace white balance is not an issue just don’t put it in auto mode
These are the drone operators that are going to screw the hobby up for everyone. You do NOT have to turn off any sensors when landing the drone in your hand. I'm a drone newbie and even I can do it. No need to let it land in your flattened palm. Just carefully take hold of the drone with your right hand and pull down on the left lever. It's SUPER easy.
Mr. Jeremy Hello, how are you sir? question, Can the drone automatically track another object for example, a vehicle once you tell the drone, track this vehicle, the drone will track that vehicle? thanks Respectfully; Andy Disable Vet Texas
It's not the brightness of the light at noon that produces poorer video and photos, its that its coming straight down and casts harsh, hard edge shadows, so it's unflattering to both people and landscapes. At sunset/sunrise the light is more diffused by the atmosphere and because its coming in at an angle, gives shadows that show dimension and contour of the landscape.
Jeremy, you can set your RTH point to follow your remote controller, so U don't need to worrie about it return 3 miles or so out of ur sight. Dont forget to set Shutter speed (Tv) on camera to get it less bright and correct light even in strong daylight as well.. :-)

Maybe you should of read more or watched more videos on what to expect for Active track, flying and driving another bad idea, hand catching once you understand what is happening is really easy, don't fight the drone let it come to you. Glad the video was only 20 minutes, but i did enjoy most of it. Nothing new a little late to the game, there are no less than 200 video's out about the Pro and the Zoom and all of the functions. But really glad you are happy with your purchase.
Please do a video on the fly more case. The original MP flymore case was junk IMO, way too tight and hard to use, no extra room. Please show the M2 flymore case, what it holds, and provide an opinion on the ease of use. Thanks!
Another great video, thanks. Mavic 2 Pro vs Mavic 2 Zoom....have you done a comparison video? If yes, can I have the link please. If no, will you be doing one? Or, if you've tried both which is best?
Hi Jeremy, Great video info. on the DJI Mavic Pro. I recently Purchased the Mavic Pro Platinum for recording our wild coyotes Remmi and Misha and our Red Fox Jade. Remmi understands all his commands in Spanish and English and is an awesome Pheasant Hunter and Tracker. People cannot believe he is actually straight out of the wild. Anyway, I purchased this drone to capture arial footage of the coyotes in action out in the field with me. I have much to learn about the machine yet, and already have learned a few things from your videos. So thank you for that and keep up the good work.Travis Edland
wow. You are one of the few people that record & render at the same framerate. Its painfull to watch those videos on youtube where every second a frame gets skipped.
Suggesting to a newbie to catch the drone like you did is dangerous. Never grab a moving drone! Turn off the sensors (S mode), let it hover at head height 10ft away, then walk over and slowly grab the stationary drone from beneath with right hand. Hold it in place with a firm grip. Then with left hand on RC, give left stick down to turn motors off. Motors will stop after 3sec.
Yes, that's an option, however for newbies it might get away from them if not careful, as the motors will accelerate when tipped. Blades can easily cause damage, need to be careful as best possible, catching only when you have to.
Tom Spurlock I agree. There is a notable risk with hand catching. If anyone is going to try it they need to know what they are getting into. I will say trying to work remote to shut it off when hand catching doesn’t seem like a good idea to me. I like the tip it 45 degrees, seems safer if your going to hand catch.
If you catch right handed, the left stick is easily pushed down one handed, with the left hand. Tipping is OK too if you know what you're doing and hold on tight during the tip. I think you know what I mean., but it's acceptable. My primary observation is people shouldn't catch a moving drone. One gust of wind and you can miss and get cut up if it's moving down as shown in your video. Turning off sensors and grabbing a stationary drone from below is more safe, even with a gust of wind, because it's not moving down.
...like watching Norwegian fireplace burns except more exciting - easy to watch, easy fun guy and ...whirling. First time I've ever heard, "Tap on yourself." Thanks Jeremy.
Great test ! Wish You would have went a little faster through those trees with active track to see its full potential but overall great video. What do you use for your audio? Do you use a Recorder and sync it or wireless lav mic?
I use a wireless lav mic. And come to think of it... the audio in this video is crap.. I added too much gain, and if you pain attention you can hear it peaking at times... the simple mistakes irritate me the most. Oh well... learning opportunity. Here is a link to the mic if you wanna check it out: amzn.to/2MKrNpt and BTW I have all my gear in the description box of my videos.
Jeremy Judkins Thanks but Damn that’s expensive😱To rich for my blood lol. I’d rather use the money towards a new mavic. Thanks tho. And I thought the audio was good.
the footage you produced in this video from the drone right at the beginning was exceptional, you have a real talent, I hope you decide to go in to filming, I wonder if you could make a feature film ?
NO he will likely & hopefully be in jail very soon, because he is breaking many laws, which will take away the privilege to fly drones for the rest of us! Also this video looks good NOT because he is any good at filming, rather it is because the features the drone has!
i dont really fully understand all the manual settings and feel intimidated by them. Also as the Spark which I have doesn't have a long battery life I am worried by the time I figured out what settings to use I have used half my battery up .
Apologies for my lack of tech knowledge ( it's generational thing ) but what is the minimum requirement smart phone for this drone and would a smart phone work as just a screen without a sim card ?
Great video, thanks! Your footage looks much sharper than the other M2P videos out there. Is this the standard picture setting or is there anything special you did?
Good footage mate, love it. I've just ordered one last week and it will take a bit of time to get used to it, so I appreciate your video. Just a question, if you record footage and photos, is it saved to your phone or the drone? Cheers
natserog you can either put it in sport mode or in normal mode just place your hand out flat directly underneath, an hold the left stick down and it will just land on your hand.. you can grab it as shown in the video but I’ve found if you do this it tries to pull away upwards for a few seconds as it thinks you’re are an obstacle which isn’t ideal..so just let it land on your palm until the motors switch off.. hope this helps..
6:52 "... what you should see right now is a perfectly smooth shot with no jittering at all....**stutter... stutter...ststst-stut-stutter** :/ Seems to be the bane of this model range.
Question: I still can't decide between the 2. I think the zoom feature would be really really great especially for active tracking, and the fact that you don't have to fly to close to objects. When it comes to the Pro my concern is that how much does YT or Vimeo or others crush a 10bit video when you up load it? Does having a 10bit capability really worth it? I would appreciate anyone who try's to answer my question.
I think there is not much added value in providing 10-bit video, at least for the moment. A very tiny amount of computer screens support 10-bit colors. A normal 8-bit tft/lcd/led panel has 3 subpixels (R-G-B) with 256 (2^8) steps each in one pixel. Making to reproduce 16,7 million colors. The 10-bit oled and expensive stuff have 3 subpixels (R-G-B) with 1024 (2^10) steps each in one pixel. Resulting in to reproduce 1,073 billion colors. That's a huge difference.
Great video Jeremy! I’m currently looking at the Mavic 2 and have found a solid inspire 1 v2 with 2 x3 2 controllers and 4 battery’s for about the same money. 1st drone and wanting to know what you recommend. Thanks and keep up the great work
CHECK OUT THE MAVIC 3 or if you cannot afford it the air 2s works just fine THE AIR 2S DOES HAVE A FIXED 2.8 APERATURE AND A 1 INCH SENSOR And the mavic 3 is a beast with its 4/3 inch sensor
Hi What is the connector that you are using into the back of the controller, is it Mini hdmi or something else, I must add a very good educational video for us newbies to M2P.
the connector is just a full sized USB cable into the back of the controller. the same one you would charge your phone with, you can just plug into the controller and plug the smaller end into your phone to fly. its better than the small cable that the controller comes with.
Hi i planned to take some pictures in Hawaii this summer. My question is can i bring this drone to Hawaii without any trouble with the local administration ? Thanks guys
An interesting topic.. I did all I can do to make it smooth. All I can do is blame TH-cam compressing /converting it. I filmed in 30 fps and put in 30 fps timeline. I also shot in 1/60 shutter most of the time. I'm at a loss. The raw video files look perfect.
Also more sensors. If you have the extra money and want latest technology you should get it but an upgrade from the original mavic pro isn't worth it at all.
If they ever are bothering you, just fly up. Birds cant fly up quickly like a drone, but they could dive down quickly if you decided to go down to safety.
there is a few reviews out there confirming its not there... there was some hope it would be a future software update, but there is also a number of other posts saying its not coming to the Mavic 2 pro.
My first feature length Mavic 2 Pro video. Hope you enjoy it! I worked all freaking day and night on this bad boy.
So underrated.. :(

Why not everyone in TH-cam does and they make money off there TH-cam breaking the line of sites rules fllying over citys or around air planes

Yes. Shooting in mid day produces worse quality video. The light is easier on the eye during golden hour.

Hi, is there a way to use filters in the Mavic Pro 2 with the Hasselblad gimbal (camera)? Thanks!
Yes check DJI website
Thanks!
Did you colour grade the drone footage In this video at all?
Does the hyperlapse get stitched together for you inside the drone or do you have to do by yourself in post
Like the landing pad. Cool how it flys around you. Looks like really good video. Great to see quads progress the way they are
Isn’t that just amazing footage. I think I will get one!
Great job, what are you using to record your voice?
he is using piloroholopiso it is the best mic its really tiny search it! :)
Wrong.
Can you not tip the drone on a 45 degree angle and it turns off so you don't have to worry about the controller to turn it off?
Do you use H.265 OR h.264 is this 10 bit or 8 bit?
...like watching Norwegian fireplace burns except more exciting - easy to watch, easy fun guy and ...whirling. First time I've ever heard, "Tap on yourself." Thanks Jeremy.
Regarding the voice recording. Where is the mic? Do you record your voice externally ? Thanks.
Nice video, whats your take on RTH accuracy and any disconnections? I got the air and the Occusync appeals to me.
Where are you located? Your area looks like a area close to Naples Florida. Where I'm at.
Apologies for my lack of tech knowledge ( it's generational thing ) but what is the minimum requirement smart phone for this drone and would a smart phone work as just a screen without a sim card ?
You should look into a Splash Drone, you can fly it in the rain, drop it in water, even salt water because that’s what it’s made to do.
You do know you don't have to take off the otter cover on the phone. The remote still holds the phone with the case on just fine.
Turn Landing protection off in vps and it won't rise up or fight you when you land in your hand it will, shut off..... that feature is useless anyway
Great video, thanks! Your footage looks much sharper than the other M2P videos out there. Is this the standard picture setting or is there anything special you did?
Nothing different I can think of really.
lots of cool stuff with newer drones but I'm surprised at how much work the video quality still seems to need to get things correct.
Why would you try to land the drone in your hand rather than having it just return to the launching pad?
Good footage mate, love it. I've just ordered one last week and it will take a bit of time to get used to it, so I appreciate your video. Just a question, if you record footage and photos, is it saved to your phone or the drone? Cheers
nice demonstration of flight with this drone
I have vivo v7+ does it compatible with this drone
Like, this is way beyond my, like, skill level? Like, there was no traffic, and I was like, in the middle of no where.
Great video! Thanks for putting in much effort and sharing your skills.
You could have changed your home point to the location of your RC. Then, RTH wouldn't be a disaster.
Lmfao yes. Dynamic home point I think it's called. My fault entirely on that.
Do we have the ability to bind to remotes to the Mavic 2 Pro simultaneously like it’s predecessor ? 🤔
great video! how do you turn off the bottom sensor for hand catching?
natserog you can either put it in sport mode or in normal mode just place your hand out flat directly underneath, an hold the left stick down and it will just land on your hand.. you can grab it as shown in the video but I’ve found if you do this it tries to pull away upwards for a few seconds as it thinks you’re are an obstacle which isn’t ideal..so just let it land on your palm until the motors switch off.. hope this helps..
Drone Adventure for sure... Where in Fla ?
when you circle objects like the cow can you set distance to be closer??
6:52 "... what you should see right now is a perfectly smooth shot with no jittering at all....**stutter... stutter...ststst-stut-stutter** :/ Seems to be the bane of this model range.
Thanks and keep up the great work
CHECK OUT THE MAVIC 3 or if you cannot afford it the air 2s works just fine
THE AIR 2S DOES HAVE A FIXED 2.8 APERATURE AND A 1 INCH SENSOR
And the mavic 3 is a beast with its 4/3 inch sensor
The mavic 3 cine could get you ape pro res footage and a terrabyte ssd but do not spend your money on it if you do not absolutely want apple pro res
Your antenna is positioned wrong way dude for best signal it’s gotta be facing up
Hi What is the connector that you are using into the back of the controller, is it Mini hdmi or something else, I must add a very good educational video for us newbies to M2P.
the connector is just a full sized USB cable into the back of the controller. the same one you would charge your phone with, you can just plug into the controller and plug the smaller end into your phone to fly. its better than the small cable that the controller comes with.
Hi i planned to take some pictures in Hawaii this summer. My question is can i bring this drone to Hawaii without any trouble with the local administration ?
Thanks guys
David NGUYEN I brought my Mavic to Hawaii without any trouble, you should be fine
Get nd filters... Polarpro on amazon are amazing. I got them and can say the 6 pack cinema ones are super good quality. $200 here in Canada.
I would love to have one but I already have a mavic pro and cannot justify the upgrade cost.
Love your videos , nice showing of the car tracking system on mavic 2.
Good video, but you shouldn't drive and fly at the same time! You should get a friend to drive. It is irresponsible to encourage others to do this!
Great video Jeremy...I know it's a few years old, but it's still relevant...new sub.
What do you think of them getting rid of precision landing feature
Honestly had no idea, because I never used it in the previous drones anyway. Just land the drone yourself.. its more fun :)
how the hell did i end up here
idk but welcome.
you jumped into a rabbit hole, or maybe took a blue pill?
So many CFR 14 Part 107 UAV drone laws being broken. Especially the flying while operating a vehicle. Seems like a really solid drone though!
what are you using to record your voice while filming? thx
Jeremy, can you please tell me why some parts of your footage are "stuttering" quit bad?? thx
An interesting topic.. I did all I can do to make it smooth. All I can do is blame TH-cam compressing /converting it. I filmed in 30 fps and put in 30 fps timeline. I also shot in 1/60 shutter most of the time. I'm at a loss. The raw video files look perfect.
Very cool but I still think they'll improve tons more in 2-3 years max at least with motion tracking, price, & perhaps battery life too.
Been 3 years, you were pretty incorrect but still slightly right
Jeremy, when you are doing active track at high speed you need to switch the "safe" icon off. Then you will be able to do it at high speed :)
I kinda figured as I was editing the footage. Funny how you don't notice stuff like that at times. Oops 🙄
Also drone and drive at same time took your attention too :D Anyway keep the goodwork love your video.
When your drone has a better camera than your regular camera lol
I'm getting this beast very soon, can't wait.
Yea at about double the price I would highly pass
P4P because with that you are getting 60FPS and an mechanical shutter
Also more sensors. If you have the extra money and want latest technology you should get it but an upgrade from the original mavic pro isn't worth it at all.
if you have 107 and get paid 200-500 in a few hours its worth it
I tried to fly mine today and had problems with birds trying to take it down. Lucky you.
If they ever are bothering you, just fly up. Birds cant fly up quickly like a drone, but they could dive down quickly if you decided to go down to safety.
svtzeater I always have them trying to attack my spark! Did you guys see that eagle on Ispikes channel that attacked the Mavic 2? Crazy😱
FAA .... “We LOVE this video!” Talk to you soon! 😂
Have you tried precision landing? I hear they dropped the feature on Mavic 2.
there is a few reviews out there confirming its not there... there was some hope it would be a future software update, but there is also a number of other posts saying its not coming to the Mavic 2 pro.
Why did u leave shutter on 1/60 for a photo on a sunny day? That makes no sense.
I noticed the image fell apart when it was following you, what's up with that; for that money it should be rock solid!!!
Great video. Can you do a video of the boomerang mode. I'm a new subscriber to your channel as well. I'm thinking about getting a drone from DJI.
I'll make a video with ALLLL the quick shot modes at some point.
Great video on the Mavic 2
Thank you Jeremy for the footage and great video. Can't wait until I get mine here!!!!!
