      An interesting topic.. I did all I can do to make it smooth. All I can do is blame TH-cam compressing /converting it. I filmed in 30 fps and put in 30 fps timeline. I also shot in 1/60 shutter most of the time. I'm at a loss. The raw video files look perfect.

    Hi What is the connector that you are using into the back of the controller, is it Mini hdmi or something else, I must add a very good educational video for us newbies to M2P.

    • @jeremyjudkins
      @jeremyjudkins  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      the connector is just a full sized USB cable into the back of the controller. the same one you would charge your phone with, you can just plug into the controller and plug the smaller end into your phone to fly. its better than the small cable that the controller comes with.

      Sean Maeder the type of flying I do requires a familiarity with the FAA and their protocols, and they take their jobs very seriously, and part 107 is no exception. It’s no surprise, from a pilot’s perspective, drones scare the crap out of me. However, many of us own them, I own a Mavic too... that’s how I know how scary it is. Pilots and the FAA really really appreciate people who have knowledge of airspace and air traffic procedures, but they will fine you for blatant violations... that being said, they are a lot like an old dog, just don’t be the toddler tugging on his ears...

    • @cjamproductions8491
      @cjamproductions8491 6 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      I am retired FAA and what you are doing on video can get you in serious trouble if they wish, and the fines would shut you down. Driving the car was bad enough but "admitting" your drone is out of line of sight when you were not driving is another. It does not matter if you are hobbyist or pro, you are in violation of these rules and you are providing great evidence.

      These are the drone operators that are going to screw the hobby up for everyone. There are big corporations lobbying to get airspace rights away from amateur drone owners and looking for stories of willfully irresponsible operators like Jeremy Judkins. It is against FAA rules to operate and drive, follow a vehicle, or fly near power lines. Keep breaking the rules and bragging about about it on social media and lose OUR right to fly at all! Knock it off.

    • @jeremyjudkins

    • @HellbellyUK
      @HellbellyUK 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      It's quality of light, not quantity.

    • @HellbellyUK
      @HellbellyUK 6 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      It's not the brightness of the light at noon that produces poorer video and photos, its that its coming straight down and casts harsh, hard edge shadows, so it's unflattering to both people and landscapes. At sunset/sunrise the light is more diffused by the atmosphere and because its coming in at an angle, gives shadows that show dimension and contour of the landscape.

    Meh. The new mavics aren't much of an upgrade to justify changing.
    Don't need a better camera. (Not everyone is a super duper blogger photographer)
    Don't need quieter rotors. (It's not loud at all 10m away)
    Don't need a min or two extra flight time. (Have 5 batts)
    Don't need removable sticks. (Have an ebay case for 4 quid)
    Don't need the extra avoidance features. (Never use them)
    The only thing that's good is the better gimbal. (But if you take care of your Mavic this doesn't matter)

    When changing manually and still seeing slight overexposure, you should change the speed faster than 1/60.
    1/60 is fairly slow and will pick up wobble and unintended movements. Bump up the shutter speed .When shooting by helicopter I set manually at 100 asa/iso 1/500th sec at f5.6 for ideal exposures on a sunny day.

    Hya Jeremy,
    I really enjoyed what you did to show the capabilities on the Mavic 2 Pro.
    I just got mine this past week. It is so great and I love it also like you.
    I appreciated the video you took all the trouble to make.
    It is more work than most realize to so that.
    Sorry it rained because that is not good at all.
    Following the car was great. Next time change the home point if it is too far away.
    I realize you do not want it to land where you took off at all after leaving.
    But you can tell it to land where the controller is at any time.
    It will make you a lot less nervous expecially when it is now in line of sight.
    I really enjoyed your video though and am quite thankful.
    Also when you are using avtive track all sensors are active so get it high over all obstacles.
    It is unerving to do what you did though so I agree with the nerves kicking in.
    The drone costs a lot expecially since I bought the fly more combo.
    I got too close to a bush tracing kyself so had to hit the pause key as it was doing a cut trick.
    I just stopped it in the knick of time and also lowered close to the ground as well.
    If I was in Tripod mode it would never have happened.
    I hit this little direction control and OF COURSE it went towards a bush!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
    It was a little windy in the parking lot so I went back to my home but it is not a good place.
    These things need a 1/4 mile to feel comfortable, LOL.
    I also got to 45 s you did as well. The camera is really excellent.
    I subscribed to your youtube as I liked what you did and was really careful. Bravo!!!
    I also learned a few things watching you as well.
    I want to get this cute little girl to drive my street rod in my neighborhood soon.
    I will have sit on my lap and kind of shrink good behind her doing throttle & brake but,,,
    She will drive and then edit me out to make it look as of a little girl is driiving the rod.
    That will be cool when I get me out of the picture. She is a blonde and a doll.
    It will look odd as a 12 year old drives a high power street rod, LOL.
    I will watch more of your videos too. Thanks much.
    Where do you live, I am in FLorida. Ray C. and,,, THANKS for the videos!!!!!

    You should learn more about the things you "TRY" to explain! First you say you shouldn't get used to using your GPS to get your drone home, instead I "as in you" use the map! HELLO that map IS GPS how else would it be tracking the drone DUH! You say you CANT fix the exposure any further to compensate for how bright it is outside, you do realize that you can adjust your shutter speed faster, which would not have any negative effect on the video!

    I will say one thing, if you mess up a hand landing you will never doing it again with the same hand. Screw it up twice and you will be using your feet to fly. Do I hear LANDING PAD?
    You bet I do. If I can not use a landing pad, I go somewhere else to launch. KISS System.

    Hi Jeremy, Great video info. on the DJI Mavic Pro. I recently Purchased the Mavic Pro Platinum for recording our wild coyotes Remmi and Misha and our Red Fox Jade. Remmi understands all his commands in Spanish and English and is an awesome Pheasant Hunter and Tracker. People cannot believe he is actually straight out of the wild. Anyway, I purchased this drone to capture arial footage of the coyotes in action out in the field with me. I have much to learn about the machine yet, and already have learned a few things from your videos. So thank you for that and keep up the good work.Travis Edland

Using this video alone for evidence you can be criminally charged for all the Stupid things you do with a drone, flying next to power lines, admitting you cant see your drone yet still flying it oh & let me mention the fact that you where flying it behind your car while driving your car, which is NO different than texting & driving or even driving under the influence!! If a child had jumped out in the middle of the road, YOU would've most likely KILLED them because you where to damn worried about getting a good video with your eyes glued to the screen!

    Jeremy Nice video but just to point out something what may help. Using f/11 at mavic sensor size is quite bad idea. I won't close down the aperture more than f/8 and even that only if there is no other way. What is happening with your quality when you closing aperture so much is that you getting sharp corners of your photos/videos but center of your footage is loosing sharpness because light is getting through very small hole before it hits the sensor and while basically banding the way of light on the way to sensor it results in bad quality.

    You broke almost every safety and common sense limit, and then publish it so turning the general population into thinking we need ever tighter regulation. Great footage, great tech.

    Suggesting to a newbie to catch the drone like you did is dangerous. Never grab a moving drone! Turn off the sensors (S mode), let it hover at head height 10ft away, then walk over and slowly grab the stationary drone from beneath with right hand. Hold it in place with a firm grip. Then with left hand on RC, give left stick down to turn motors off. Motors will stop after 3sec.

      Can you not tip the drone on a 45 degree angle and it turns off so you don't have to worry about the controller to turn it off?

    • @TomSpurlock
      @TomSpurlock 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes, that's an option, however for newbies it might get away from them if not careful, as the motors will accelerate when tipped. Blades can easily cause damage, need to be careful as best possible, catching only when you have to.

    • @drone_video9849
      @drone_video9849 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Tom Spurlock I agree. There is a notable risk with hand catching. If anyone is going to try it they need to know what they are getting into. I will say trying to work remote to shut it off when hand catching doesn’t seem like a good idea to me. I like the tip it 45 degrees, seems safer if your going to hand catch.

    • @TomSpurlock
      @TomSpurlock 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      If you catch right handed, the left stick is easily pushed down one handed, with the left hand. Tipping is OK too if you know what you're doing and hold on tight during the tip. I think you know what I mean., but it's acceptable. My primary observation is people shouldn't catch a moving drone. One gust of wind and you can miss and get cut up if it's moving down as shown in your video. Turning off sensors and grabbing a stationary drone from below is more safe, even with a gust of wind, because it's not moving down.

      NO he will likely & hopefully be in jail very soon, because he is breaking many laws, which will take away the privilege to fly drones for the rest of us! Also this video looks good NOT because he is any good at filming, rather it is because the features the drone has!
