Would love a cost breakdown video including how much for the initial swap and how much it cost to fix the issues post-swap! The videos are dope bro, don't stop!
@@2AMcars Great video bro, still awaiting the follow-up! I just saw an SC400 project car for sale for cheap, so I'm trying to do research. Manual Swap would DEFINITELY be on my list!
Glad to see the culmination of all this effort and passion! Big props to you and your friends for sharing your journey with all of us on TH-cam. Makes me want to buy an SC again!
That is awesome man. I have a 1991 v8 soarer here in Australia and it would be my dream to swap my 4 speed auto with a 5 or 6 speed manual. These cars are sky rocketing in value so hold onto it man.
@@2AMcars i got a 92 sc300 myself, in toronto, i love seeing fellow sc owners unlock the true potential of this amazing chassis. I recently purchased a full battle version suspension for my car. Slowly but surely I'll get to the swap stage. Again love seeing your vids brother, keep it up👊🏽
I’d recommend cd009 over ka/sr trans. Those aren’t really meant to handle a lot of tq. Probably why his first one blew. Even cheaper is the z32 trans which can handle anything a uz can throw at it
I read every comment. Pretty much everyone asked and opinionated the same I would of or heard in the streets. I also see why people asked about the video you were planning, but the world had been crazy. I hope all is well now. Whenever you do post that video, I be watching with popcorn and a notepad.
Wanted to see how easy it was and quickly found out I won’t be doing this anytime soon Great car though. One day when the funds are right I’ll grab a sc400 and manual swap it
This is so rad, thanks for adding the follow-up about how it was like for a year after the first swap! For the GPS gauge, how well does it work when you don't have clear line of sight to the sky?
I’m putting the plan together for the swap but life stuff has made me look for someone to do the majority of the work... but now that I see the benefits of pulling the engine, maybe I should just do it and take my time. In most SC400 manual swap videos I’ve seen they drop the transmission and use a 350z 6 speed. Working under a car isn’t fun... that being said, how much more time was spent pulling the motor vs dropping the transmission only. (If you know..?) Also, in your educated opinion, what are the pros/cons of the 240 5 speed vs the Z 6 speed. I think the 6 speed shifter ends up back by your elbow and 5 speed lines up perfectly..but the Z 6 speed seems like it’s a stronger unit. That, and having a 6th gear is more desirable. I’ll wait to see your next video on the cons of the 5speed but any other input you have would be much appreciated. Awesome channel dude. Waiting for the next video is as painful as waiting for the next ‘Grand Tour’ episode.. haha
hi! I think it is definitely faster to drop the trans but Stephen pulled the motor to do a bunch of other work to it. I think the motor was out of the car within a day, and it was put back in within a day. 240 5 speed from what i know shifts smoother, and the shifter hole lines up perfectly. The 6 speed is much stronger and can hold more torque (hence why i said i blew up a transmission already). Whichever route you go, i am sure you will like it!
I was enjoying this video because im thinking about buying and swapping a sc400 and then I see Nikko and I recognized him, I sold him Mk5 GTI parts a while back! Must mean youre kinda close haha
What offsets are your front and rear wheels? I saw on F90's channel they were 18x9.5 and 18x10.5, what about offsets? Did the fronts clear the LS calipers without spacers? I'm shopping wheels now and have the LS calipers, need to make sure whatever I pick will fit and clear. Thanks.
nice job man!!! i was just curious, how does the car drive with just the automatic set up? i am looking to buy one of these but i am kind of skeptical.
Yo this is awesome! Im about to do most of the same work to my SC400!!! This is a great vid that answered some of my questions!!! THANK YOU SO MUCH If I have any questions may I reachout to you to talk shop??? :D
Hey man im swapping cd009 in my 1992 sc400 in a couple weeks time, question for you? What wire did you tap into for the gps speedo, i bought the same unit as you but cant find a wiring diagram for the life of me, any help would be greatly appreciated, thank you.
@dronetrucker8623 you cha ginger gears out in diff its quite short if u can go with 3.62 or 3.76....or if you want even gear 3.26...3.92 are really short
Did you have to modify the bellhousing/adapter plate/change bellhousing to make it fit onto the 1uz? Or did it go straight on no modifications? Considering doing a KA swap on my 92!
Manual + RWD + V8 + Coupe = Perfect sports car!
Can't wait to see this thing on the track!
Very Cool but way to heavy for the track!
2 years later damn glad you back bro don’t stop w these vids

I actually love this. The SC400 should’ve come with one from the factory but looking at the take rate of the manual SC300....maybe not so lol
Yo Im so glad I searched this and saw it was only uploaded 2hrs ago. I think it’s a sign I should manual swap mine
Do it if you can!
still waiting on that parts video :')

wow small world! We went to school together
saw the KBD duckbill, do you plan on doing a whole kit?
Problem with this is going with a Ka24 transmission should have gone with the 300ZX.
So was the motor just taken out just for ease of everything or is it necessary to pull transmissions on these cars

What year sc400 you have? I know ecu tends to rev limit the car or limp mode sometimes when in limp mode unless first gen dont have that much problem

So this trans/shifter combo works without hacking up the trans tunnel?
Yes exactly right
8:50 M30 neat.

when are you going to post the mods list??
I'm leaning towards CD009 brand new, these older transmission have sorted histories, nice car, great video, buying my sc400 next week 👍

did you have to do anything with the ECU?
I know this is late bro but what seats are those ?
I imam get 1 soon and save up for a manual swap u think thats good for my first car?
Yes, definitely
Since the gs400 has the same engine you could basically do the same right? Or would you have to get a different trans since it’s a different chassis?
basically you can! im not sure how it would line up with the shifter hole though. Many people also use this swap in the 240sx and in the ls400
How did you get that sound out of the muffler
What rims and tires you running man? Super sick 👌🏽
General GMAX RS!
Could this swap work in the 2jz ge
What ecu did you end up going with?

Glad you enjoyed!
Does it have a short throw shifter?
yes from ISR
240 sx 5 spd takes the power?
RIP to this car. It was totaled not too long ago.
Increíble!!!

probably around 3-4k usd.
Bro wya? We need new vids
will this manual trans setup work on the sc300 2jz?
you will need a different adapter plate. But yes in theory it should
How much does it cost
WOW ! ! ! is that an M30? . . . SC400 is better ! ! ! but still NICE !
