    Molly Tuttle is a pure jewel. The more I listen to her and the more I love her. Her smile, her amazing guitar playing and her pure voice is a treasure. It's a long time that I didn't felt such an emotion listening an artist. Molly, thank you to exist.

    Everyone rightly recognizes Molly's incredible picking ability, but her voice is also phenomenal! You think it's going to go to a feathery, whispery place, then peeking out from behind is this strong, resonant roundness that makes itself known. Very pleasing combination! Beautiful playing, beautiful singing, beautiful lady!

    This girl is what Tony Rice once was to the guitar. Nothing mechanical sounding about her. Just raw talent & pure soul!!!! The torch has been passed & this girl is the future of acoustic music. All you autotuned wannabe's take note!! Finally, the real deal has come along!!!!!!! All those who miss the heart & soul of the mid 80's Tony Rice. Well...………..Here it is in the form of a seemingly frail woman. A woman who has the MASTER control of her guitar as well as her voice. I've been years looking for an artist with the "real deal" talent that Tony Rice used to share with his audiences. I've finally found it!!!!!!! This gal is now my favorite artist of the modern day acoustic world!!!!!!! Thank You Molly for sharing your talent with us!!!!!!!

      jdcrowe82 try billy strings, I think you’ll agree he’s even Better than Tony rice

    • @redlinemando
      @redlinemando 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@guitarman1477 I've heard a lot from Billy Strings. He's great, but I'm afraid I can't agree with you completely. I greatly admire Billy for his obvious talent, but he lacks the ability to convey the deeper, more complex emotions. It's a very special ability that is lacking in most of today's music & across all genres as well. While Billy may have more musical scale knowledge & more technical speed & ability than Molly, he will never be able to hold the audience in the palm of his hand purely on vocal performance alone. He has to learn how to "let go" emotionally when he is performing. He even lacks some of this ability in his guitar playing. It's all about the dynamics. Speed & technical ability doesn't mean much if you can't make the audience "FEEL" what your playing. He's still young yet & has plenty of time to grow some more musically. He will no doubt, develop this ability over time, but for now, this keeps him off of my top 5.
      This ability was something that I've seen Tony Rice demonstrate time & time again. He could do it with just his guitar & he could also do it with just his voice. Molly shares this same unique ability. Trey Hensley also shares that same ability although, he is not as well known.
      Listen to the old Jim Croce recordings of just his voice & two guitars. Jim was a really good example of someone who possessed this same ability.

    • @guitarman1477
      @guitarman1477 5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I kind of agree with you about billy strings, he hasn’t the experience of tony rice, Brian Sutton, but, time will tell. Molly Tuttle is a revelation

    • @redlinemando
      @redlinemando 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@guitarman1477 Yeah man, Billy will definitely grow into his own over time. He's still doing some musical "soul searching" for his niche. Molly has found her Niche & all that's left for her to do is nourish it & give it plenty of room to grow.

    I love Joe's fully-invested playing face. Vacant expression, a bit slack-jawed, unexpected smiling, serious focused intent staring, head bobbing and wagging. You can tell he's looking at _something_ beyond what his eyes are seeing -- perhaps a cartoon landscape of tangible musical tones, joyously weaving their way through the _idea_ of the mandolin. Then an unexpected bit of improvisation pops up from one of his partners, his focus snaps back to them, a quick inside-joke smile and chuckle, then back to the dream. What fun!

      Kevin, I was in a band with her dad 25 years ago and people kept saying "you should hear his kids" and I never heard her till a year ago. Now I get it,!

    Just discovered Molly with her lesson on cross picking. She's the bomb. Her voice is so crisp.

    Great sounding acoustic (of course) set. Molly Tuttle is bringing some new blood to Bluegrass which is never a bad thing. Was privileged to see her live at Stern Grove in San Francisco. Great set there as well. She's just really good.

    Never was a big fan of country, bur now I'm a Molly Tuttle devotee. Her voice is as emotive as her playing. The sound is just amazing.
    Would love to know how this was mic'd so that the instruments have such warmth and presence without being amplified. That is one gorgeous sounding Martin.

      Hi Stephan, it’s micd with 2 Beyerdynamic MC834’s directly into a tascam HS-p82. The guitar is a Preston Thompson guitar, made in Sisters, OR. I believe Mr. Thompson passed away not long ago.

    Absolutely beautiful. I love so many genres of music, but I just found Molly... not sure how. Quarantine I suspect. But my goodness she is good. What I first heard was on KPIG. And she sang such a beautifully simple song, but with incredible guitar playing, and that of course was "She's a Rainbow"... and I now really know why she sang this, and made it hers as far as I am concerned. When I get out once more, to see a musician play (and I have a few Santa Cruz based musicians I want too see as well) I really want to see this girl. I miss the things she sings about. Anyway, I'm done here. I'll go see her, wherever I can. She is so worth it.
