Molly. That was a stupendous interview! Many thanks! I think your music is beautiful, and really hope you will continue for years to come. It is a God-given gift, and music is a universal language. Best regards. John
The world is full of musicians that have all the music knowledge you could possibly want but somehow have no "feel" or originality to their playing. Molly has something special to her playing and singing that attracts peoples interest. She's a wonderful person to boot.
Molly is ace! I’ve recently discovered her stuff and have been listening to her albums more or less on repeat lately! She has that wonderful combination of incredible technique but no ego coming through in her playing, just feeling. Breathtaking musicianship.
Molly Tuttle and Mary Spender in the same video??? Instant like, don't even have to watch it to know it's gonna be good. Plus, how cool would it be to hear a collaboration between you two? You're pretty different artists, yet have enough in common to assume you could make amazing stuff together
As a fan of Molly and her extraordinary music making, thank you Mary for inviting Molly to Tuesday Talks. So insightful to discover Molly’s musical approach and at the same time hear you both weave in revealing truths concerning the craft of guitar practice, study, performing, and song writing.
WOW. Just Yesterday I suggested you have DISCussion will Molly. You're way ahead of me Mary. This goes beyond just an interview. You're both so honest about the struggles of being a musician and setting long term goals. It helps to know others have similar obstacles to overcome. ☮️💜🇨🇦
Wow, two wonderful women who exemplify musical talent and presentation. Thanks Mary Spender for doing this with Molly Tuttle. This interview made my day!
nothing but genuine love for molly..such a humble and radiant woman who has some absolutely amazing picking skill..i have honestly learned allot from her and added it to my own tool box and lets not forget our most amazing mary spender as well..2 amazing musicians. we are all blessed that they share there talents with us all...
Twenty years ago i was going to see Nickel Creek live, years later I find Mary, Little did I realize she was listening to Nickel Creek and lots of the other music I love. As I watch your channel, I find out more and more the musical likes are the same. Molly is yet another!
Thanks for the Molly Tuttle interiew. I love her and bluegrass in general. I say who cares if you come in with all ones, at least you're in. Berklee is the place to learn everything, who cares where you start. It's an honor to go to a school like that.
Thanks Mary. Molly Tuttle is fantastic. I have followed her ever she graduated from Berklee. I have a strange three degrees of separation to that early period of her career. Great interview and very joyful.
What a great interview .... Molly is a wonderful musician and I love listening to her music! I think we all feel like we are getting "1's" sometimes but we still enjoy making music. I heard Doyle Dykes one time at a Taylor event and walked away thinking I don't deserve to even own a guitar after hearing his fantastic playing. In the end, it just serves to make us become better musicians. Thanks again for interviewing Molly .... it's great to see two wonderful ladies of the music world, discussing thier journey. Cheers!
This interview led me down a great path today. After watching it I’m looking into Molly and see she’s done a song called “Olympia, WA,” my hometown. Cool! More digging and I see that’s a Rancid cover off her album of a bunch of eclectic covers. Now I have to have the record so I take my 8 y.o. daughter down to Easy Street and we find a limited edition aqua vinyl copy. Just yesterday my daughter was asking if anyone has a turquoise record, so she’s excited. We bring it home, put it on the turntable, and it’s amazing. A memorable day. Thanks, Mary and Molly.
I saw Molly's blog performance of bay area music. It was great! Very skilled guitarist and really nice voice. She's a topped ranked bluegrass picker. Very top. I like Mary's channel, always happy and a great song writer with a nice voice.
Just saw her live tonight... off-the-chart in every way, shape, and form. And her musicianship and vocal abilities are just as impressive. A precious jewel of the kind you would only expect to find after sifting through light-years worth of star-dust. Definitely not Earth-bound.
9:19 Molly: "...I feel like I haven't really made a full-on bluegrass album..." Please, please, please do exactly that! Do everything else, too, but that's a good step to take sometime soon if it makes you happy. :)
I had not heard of Molly and now I have downloaded everything with her from Apple Music, love her music! I also have subscribed to her TH-cam. Thank you Mary for this interview!
Just wanted to thank you for interviewing Molly who happens to be my favorite modern day Blue Grass musician. She is an all around and precious human being! Mary, wishing you wellness and happiness on your journey we call life. :-)
What an insane interview. You two are among the most talented artists to come about and it is so refreshing listening to you both. Stay real and never lose sight of your dreams.
Molly and Mary are truly especially beautiful ladies in every way, of the music industry. Thankyou for sharing this interview. You are both are a true inspiration God Bless.
Just becoming such an amazing guitar player would be remarkable enough. That she is also such a talented singer and songwriter is really mind bending. Such a talent, I love Molly's music.
I grew up listening to the Beatles, Stones, etcetera, and never really found Bluegrass music appealing. Molley Tuttle changed that for me. I stumbled upon some of her performances here on TH-cam and was very impressed. Recently, I watched Molly Tuttle & Golden Highway play, "Crooked Tree" and I was blown away by the entire band. So much talent and positive energy. But Molly is something special... and not just as a very gifted/skilled musician. She gives out a beautiful vibe that just brings a smile to my soul. She's Like a Rainbow! (Btw, she also looks beautiful without a wig.) Molly, you make the world a better place. Thank you!
I love this,..... The conversation... yes; Two phenomenal musicians talking, yes; But just them laughing, the sparks in their eyes and respecting each other, Definitely.
Just as I was slacking off on practice :D , discovered this video of the two people, together, who had inadvertently coaxed me to begin my string journey!
Life is such a magnificent experience. We get someplace...or perhaps believe we have, only to turn around and realize there's an entirely different range of perspectives surrounding us on all sides. I fell madly in love with both your playing styles during the pandemic and can't wait to experience all the new and changing directions you'll each be taking. What a lovely talk this is. Thank you both.
Wow! Two of my guitar idols in one video. Love both of you! You guys are such warm hearted characters, not to mention your outstanding charismatic musical output. Thanks for posting!
Thanks for doing this interview. Molly is not only a great guitarist she is very personable. We’re going to see her in concert in a couple of weeks so this is doubly cool.
Thank you Mary for interviewing the amazing Molly Tuttle! Can't get enough of her blistering fast crosspicking guitarwork. Can I put up a request for a tuesdays interview? Have a look at Kirby Swinemars channel Kirbyscovers... His arrangements are deceptively simple but include his own original way of playing his Yamaha acoustic with great right hand strumming technique. - Sure more do-able then Molly Tuttle stuff... very fun to learn. I would love to hear the guy speak about his work.
That was so enjoyable to watch - two talented people that I love to hear play yet the nature of the discussion was so genuine and fun to just watch - very rewarding as there is so much behind the talent that you each are known for -- thank you both for sharing like that. (bob)
Played on the same bill at a benefit for Cystic Fibrosis a few years with the Tuttle Family Band in Palo Alto. We knew she’d be great if she stuck with it.
Lucky enough to have been at Molly’s last London gig when she played at Bush Hall with her band. Absolutely incredible. And while she’s a brilliant guitar player, it’s always in service of the song. She’s amazing.
Been playing 20+ years. Multi instrumentalist. I feel I’m a 0.5-1 daily. I see you ladies and many others and wanna burn my instruments lol. Instead I pick them up and learn. Thank you both for your videos and your contribution to the music world.
My two secret guitar girl flames on the same screen... PLAY something TOGETHER!!! you both shred, and completely different stiles, that I think would be quite adaptable. Cross picking with a jazz cord structure accompaniment, OR electric lead over a Travis picking accompaniment... Please consider a collaboration, even if you two only give us one thing, I think you will both enjoy it as much as us, and as a musician I'm certain it will segue into something completely unimaginably beautiful. Thank you both for this interview!
Great interview! Every time I listen to Molly, I see a HUGE gap in my playing and technique. Thank you for sharing your amazing gift and your story. :)
Thank you for having me Mary!! So great to finally connect with you ❤️
Your amazing musicianship, both guitar and singing, are so inspiring to me! Thanks for doing what you do and sharing it with us!
Molly. That was a stupendous interview! Many thanks! I think your music is beautiful, and really hope you will continue for years to come. It is a God-given gift, and music is a universal language. Best regards. John
So cool to see you two together!
Molly, what did the old Viking say to the young Viking? A: "Green and White Forever!!" Proud of you homegirl.
Hey Molly. Clicked on your Live at Grimey's video. Instant fan 💙 Blown away.
Hi Molly! Glad to see you here. I'm a big fan :)

Molly is a goddess on guitar. Hard to imagine people ever judging her to be a complete beginner.
Love bluegrass. Love Molly Tuttle. Love Mary Spender. Thank you!
Molly is ace! I’ve recently discovered her stuff and have been listening to her albums more or less on repeat lately! She has that wonderful combination of incredible technique but no ego coming through in her playing, just feeling. Breathtaking musicianship.
Two lovely, talented ladies. What fun! Enjoyed every minute of this.
Molly Tuttle and Mary Spender in the same video??? Instant like, don't even have to watch it to know it's gonna be good. Plus, how cool would it be to hear a collaboration between you two? You're pretty different artists, yet have enough in common to assume you could make amazing stuff together
wonderful idea, and Mary could call up Julia Hofer for playing double bass
Yes ,would love to hear a collaboration!
Love watching Molly play, especially her right hand! Her technique is awesome.
As a fan of Molly and her extraordinary music making, thank you Mary for inviting Molly to Tuesday Talks. So insightful to discover Molly’s musical approach and at the same time hear you both weave in revealing truths concerning the craft of guitar practice, study, performing, and song writing.
Oh this makes me happy! Molly Tuttle is so amazing
I’m so happy that there’s young talented people carrying bluegrass into the future. (Especially Billy Strings)
@Ross--Imagine if she and Billy had a kid. They're the same age, I think.
I've been following both of you for ages, and then to have the two of you together to "talk shop" has been a real treat!
Molly is the best female picker I've ever seen and I've watched a lot. Carry on young lady, I'm a fan for life 🧡🧡🧡
Molly is a killer Flatpicker ❣️love her.
WOW. Just Yesterday I suggested you have DISCussion will Molly. You're way ahead of me Mary. This goes beyond just an interview. You're both so honest about the struggles of being a musician and setting long term goals. It helps to know others have similar obstacles to overcome.

I don't play bluegrass, but I love hearing Molly play and she's a good songwriter also. Thanks Mary. This was really enjoyable and inspiring.

Beautiful. Where can we find those protest songs?

Molly is incredible. What a good person and amazing musician and singer. I love her!
She keeps up with Billy Strings. That in itself is awesome.
Molly's performance of Gentle On My Mind at Grey Fox 2019 is the greatest thing I've ever seen or heard.
What a great interview .... Molly is a wonderful musician and I love listening to her music! I think we all feel like we are getting "1's" sometimes but we still enjoy making music. One of THE BEST guitarrists out there for sure.

Two of my favorite TH-cam personalities. Delightful to hear the conversation.

Good interview, one of the best I've seen with Molly.

I've been soaking up the music.
It's amazing and refreshing.
Just really great music.
Molly Tuttle is incredibly talented. Been following for some time. Music has a great future with Molly around.
Nice interview. Molly seems so modest... Mary too for that matter. Such talented and well grounded musicians. 🤘
Too good for words.
Molly is SO amazing. I was fortunate to see her Manhattan, KS a few years ago. Maybe someday again!
Molly is awesome! I love her videos here on YT and I learn something with each one. Thank you for having her on.
This is a great interview. Bluegrass will never be the same. SO FAST ON THAT GUITAR, I'm in awe.

Great interview and after playing for 40 years I am still learning. I also have to wear wigs.
Guitar can be so complex that one can learn for a lifetime which is so unique!🌼
Great interview from two great players.
Played on the same bill at a benefit for Cystic Fibrosis a few years with the Tuttle Family Band in Palo Alto. We knew she’d be great if she stuck with it.

I'm so excited to see Molly's next projects, I think she's has potential to be as huge as like Billy Strings, it would be awesome
Just took a listen to her. Such a powerful bluegrass texture unlike anything Ive heard. Look up "Take the Journey". Very powerful and mesmerizing.
Now thats fresh content, great job Mary
She's adorable. Not an ounce of ego. If I could play like her I'd be unbearable!
Lucky enough to have been at Molly’s last London gig when she played at Bush Hall with her band.
