Its so sad to see, that mostly every Jedi, who escaped the Order 66 turned to the dark side
Desperation, stress, fury, anger, sadness,regret,... pick your poison, such negative emotions harbored from surviving such an event are strong, such strong negative emotion could easily push peoples off the edge and turned them to the dark side, those who still stay in the light are those who are able to left the past behind them and live on while those who still live with fragments of their own past will keep on staying in darkness

I think the main reason Bode fought to the end was because he knew that if Tanalor became a safe haven for everyone from the Empire, that the Empire would eventually find a way through. Everyone else in the galaxy besides him would be putting his daughter in danger. At least that's how I see it.
Why do I have a feeling that Cal will be forced to make a similar choice to Bode in the next game with his own child?

Its exactly what Bode did to Cordova which is an interesting parallel
Bode was dying anyway. Maybe a stim could have helped him, but honestly, Bode was too far gone. Cal gave him multiple chances, including during this fight, and he squandered them all.
He tried choke Marin to death and even when Cal didn’t immediately fire, Bode tried to shoot first.

It’s sad that a video game has better writing then 3 movies.
And picked up a lightsaber as a grown adult who didn’t experience anything.

i just think it’s interesting how now we find out the Empire employed former jedi like Bode, but also had the Inquisitors… does this mean they had a network of former jedi turned spies or was Bode an isolated case?

@@jugg3rnog really because it was the same reason for why Vader was a thing. Too much attachment, you’ll do everything to protect the ones you love, but at the same time it becomes that much easier to see things through to the end. I mean, if you think about it, how insignificant do you think cal is to the empire.

also Vader’s story is different because he wanted more power AND had attachment issues. Bode’s reason for killing Jedi doesn’t make sense, he never claimed the Jedi turned on him or let him down, unlike Anakin
@@jugg3rnog if Aniken ever said, the Jedi turned on him, it was an excuse at best. Bode had to look out for his family and didn’t more or less care much about the rebels because in the end, he believed it was a losing battle which it kind of was, unless you’re the A-Team meaning the main heroes. In the end, Vader’s choice, and bode’s are far too similar because they chose the people they cared about over everyone else. They didn’t care about who they had to hurt along the way, so long as they protected their love ones, even if it meant endangering the lives of people that weren’t involved.
I like the fact that he tries to deny the fact that hes a monster He was willing to sacrifice thousands of people I get that you're a father but I doesn't excuse your actions there is no excuse He's a monster and he can never deny it.
A thousand is tiny. There are trillions of people and over 10 trillion different races in star wars.

The game did it like ''you can embrace the dark side whenever in need 🙂'' like its supposed to be a usual mechanic. If he can use the dark side whenever he is in trouble; what even makes him a jedi at that point?

But what this game is probably trying to show us is in order for cal to survive he will have to depend on both aspects of the force. Maybe if he lands his own show he might be the first canon grey Jedi
@@sirmalak So true! Luke even teaches us that the dark side is not something we should fear of. The Jedi Council is seriously allergic to the idea of the dark side, when the truth is, the dark side is not something you should fear and to not touch it at all (I don't mean about not straying away from the Sith path, definitely you should)
Some of Jedis practices dark side without falling into it! Mace Windu like you said, is one of the example. Overall, the best way is the middle path. Anakin fell to the dark side because the Council forbid him to love someone and to restrain from emotions and pain. It's not good to do it! But it's not good to let them control you either.
Conclusion: Balance everything
He would’ve outlived his usefulness to the empire sooner or later. Everyone is expendable in their eyes.
And every can be replaced (expect for the emperor but we don’t say the quiet part out loud)
Hence why Bode wanted to escape to Tanalorr

Really liked Bode but ngl, he really should have been wearing an isb agent uniform when we meet him on the imperial space station. Would have been a nice visual symbol of his change in character.
He wasn't ISB tho, he was Jedi in hiding and the commander made him a deal

I really liked Bode, too. And for me, that made his betrayal all the more painful.

I wonder if they'll try and take a starkiller approach with cal, not having him be as powerful obviously but more so having someone use both the light side and the dark side of the force. It would definitely be cool especially if they introduced force lightning in the 3rd game.

She's just a child roped into a conflict she has nothing to do with - just like what happened with him.
And Merrin too because Merrin, Cal and Kata were all the same age when they lost their family Merrin survived The Destruction of her people during The Clone Wars when The Separatist decimated the Witches, Cal was a Order 66 survivor and Bode also survived The Purge and his wife got killed by an Inquisitor

People keep saying the story made no sense cal set out to gain allies at the beginning of the game ended up freeing a high republic filled with revenge and hatred so that back fired and not only that he was infiltrated by vaders whos also a jedi turned bad that got cals other allies killed. The entire plot is how will cal survive being pushed this close to the edge and not fully lose his jedi way.

I get that Kata doesn't want to live alone with her father on the desolate world without any humans beside them. Still, she doesn't know shit about Cal. Her father cared her for whole life. He maybe force pushed her once in anger, for arguably, her safety but still "enemies" were nearby that might want to kill them. It is something that can be forgiven.

I think Cal should've say Yes when Bode asks about protecting his little girl. Then Bode dies because some Dark Force power contract he made. This could've led Cal to being an adoptive father to Kata.

I'm going to give you guys a realistic opinion I am on the side of Bode if you've been running your entire life witnessing people you love die and you have a child with you that you care about more than anything would you not take the offer from the bad guys to save your daughter even though you'll be an enemy to the good personally I would do the same I have people I care about no matter the risks I would pull the trigger on the good guys

yeah, i noticed a bit of a downgrade when it comes to dialogues and voice acting, but for the most part it's the animation for me. Their faces are awfully stiff sometimes and attack animations don't even connect with each other so they simply throw I-Frames to cover it up
