Lovely island. Funny how times have changed. 25 years ago walk down these streets and many people had a cigarette in their hands. Now its mobile phones in their hands.

Yes Tulips Ross and yes beautiful. What a great walk. Love how you add the talk after the walk. Nice to have a drop of rain - never hurt anybody. Thank you.

My first visit to Guernsey was in 1968 aged 14, I can remember having to climb lots of steps up to Clifton heights where we were
staying, the steps seemed to go on forevermore😅

Wow, cheers Ross! Mill St! Memories. My father had the red brick building min 7:38 on the left (at the market end) from the 1960s till the late 70s with a shop on the ground floor and "Sante Hairdressing" upstairs. Even then upper Mill St was not the busiest place but I remember buying one of the first "U2" records ("War") there in the early 1980s. Cool record shop. Sadly No 19 has long gone too.

    A great walk, Ross🤩
The last time I was there, was in 2010. It's such a long time ago😢
I love the tulips. When you want to see a lot of tulips come over to the Netherlands, to the Keukenhof 🌷🌷🌷🌷
    But I won't leave Guernsey if I were you😂

Mill street looks so much narrower than I remember many years ago ,there was a hairdresser back then called monsier Marcel , he did my hair for my wedding ,

And shame you never experienced the old market! I miss it, there is nothing like it (was). From the top (Mill St): on the right the fish market, on the left the meat market. The fish market was amazing.

Don’t doubt yourself Ross… tulips ( good knowledge) under planted with wallflowers
Great seeing April showers!… a little tip, try not sheltering under scaffolding…for obvious reasons.
The derelict area… too much “ land banking” on the island, imho…awaiting reclassification then develop and laugh all the way to Lloyds!

2.50 Sam's Barbers! I guess the original Sam has long since gone. He always had the horse racing on the tv, cutting your hair with a glass of whisky or a cigar in the other hand. You always got nervous if his horse was going to win because he would get excited and cut your ear!

I thought for a minute there you was going to go up Hauteville where Victor Hugo lived for a proper thigh burner my hotel was up that hill The Pandora . Me and the Mrs fell out at Jerbourg point i had the car and she walked backed to the hotel all the way from there , I didn't believe she walked all that way which caused another falling out lol .

So many deserted shops!😢 I also saw 2 or 3 in High Street! What happened? Was it Covid or Brexit or both???
To your question: we just stayed a week and left on Easter Monday (sadly). As always, we stayed at Del Mar Court in St Martins, a self catering I highly recommend!!! And, for the first time, we came by car. And, thanks to your "training videos", I had no problem at all driving 😅 thanks for teaching filter in turn 😂😂. I had so much fun, and driving on the left side felt quite natural - for an old german woman 😂😂😂😂

Another Great Video. I think one of the shops closed you mentioned used to be a DIY shop.

Thanks for this - I walked up this way in 2015 one sunny afternoon - the shops were interesting and the people were of course friendly and helpful. Great memories of a wonderful island.

👍 another great walk around video Ross, 7:58 thought I recognised it as 'the old quarter', always seemed to get the impression it's the back, out of the way, forgotten dilapidated part of St.Peter port, could easily be a nice quaint, old world shopping area with some investment

What time do you consider as lunch time? Yes, there are tulips. Also how is the Golden Lion? You didn't really say.
