Gena…your hair looks exceptionally lovely today! It’s extra curly w/ great definition!! What did you do different? Different products? Different brush? Spill it girl!!😂❤
I clarify once a week in hot weather and twice a month in cold weather. I alternate Olaplex 4C and Curlsmith Wash & Scrub. It's working beautifuly for me.
Thanks to your recommendation in another video of AG Renew. I love it. Gets my hair and scalp really clean but find I can use as a regular shampoo. I also like the fragrance, it’s fresh and not overwhelming. I don’t have hard water or use heavy styling products so some of the stronger clarifying shampoos are very drying on my hair ❤🙏🏻
Hi Gena! I love REDKEN Hair Cleansing Cream Clarifying Shampoo. My hair is really fine and dry with high porosity. Have you tried this one? Thank you! You always look amazing. I live your hair ❤
Your hair so stunning. Have fine silver curls. Love CS Ouidad and even Suave. Twisted clarifying I use it if have buildup like my 3-4 day is very mild. Great tutorial
I enjoy the Aussie Miracle Volume Shampoo for clarifying! It has some chelating agents in there too. I would recommend using a pre shampoo oil or a damage repair treatment after washing with it, alongside a deep conditioner or just a really moisturizing conditioner.
You've provided some great options here. I love the Olaplex one but I often reach for the Ouai detox one. L'Oreal has a hard water shampoo and conditioner system that works well and I love the scent.
another addition would be the aveeno plant protein shampoo. it probably belongs on the stronger section as i found it very drying, but it does have hard water removal properties as it has citric acid. i prefer using the loreal ever pure hard water shampoo
You mentioned after each clarifying shampoo that we should follow with a deep conditioner, but never mentioned which deep conditioners would be appropriate with which clarifying shampoos. I am mostly interested in a conditioner to use after the Ouidad and Curl Smith clarifying shampoos. My hair is naturally inconsistent…😳🙄😉 Not as curly as yours. More wavy with some ringlets interspersed -I think… Any suggestions for conditioners to use after the mentioned clarifying shampoos? Thank you in advance. I enjoy your videos. I am also really struggling with hair loss… used to have way too much hair, now probably have less than 1/4 that amount now…
Love videos like these! It really helps when shopping since my texture and density are similar to yours! I would love one on Creams that provide some hold ❤ because I haven’t found too many other than Curlsmith Protein Cream
I am 4a/b coily and recommend Ouidad Water Works. Doesn’t strip hair or color. When I need something stronger I use a Briogeo Orange Bloom shampoo. Most of the Briogeo shampoos I’ve tried are pretty hardcore for daily use for me unfortunately.
I’ve been using it for years and love it! I’m 4a and a lot of other shampoos are either too stripping for regular use or too gentle for my hair. Waterworks is one of the few middle ground ones for me! I also enjoy davines solu
I use the suave. I recently tried to deep conditioner afterward and rinse everything. Then my hair would not take a cast and was limp. OK not to add extra moisture? I use kinky curly knot today and rinse it all off. Low density fine unsure about porosity. Thank you!
I appreciated this information. Thank you! I have a question about the clarifying shampoos that have scrubbing exfoliators in them. If those "beads" do a good job of scrubbing off the dead skin, how is it that they don't also scrub the hair cuticle and damage it? I've steered away from those in order to be kind to my very thin, very fine hair. My current practice is to try to use styling products that wash away with regular shampoo, but I have enjoyed clarifying shampoos with salicylic acid in them in the past, my favorite of which has been discontinued. Boo hoo!
Great question! I don't think most of the scrubs are "harsh" enough to damage the cuticle. However some of the ones with those chunky plastic beads have been awful and matted up my hair. I like the Curlsmith and the Briogeo one because its very fine and you can barely feel it. It dissolves quickly too. Using salicylic acid is a great alternative though. I've been enjoying this treatment from LP that I'll be sharing on my IG stories this week: amzlink.to/az0jZmdtu8t8W
I have incredibly hard well water, way, way harder, than normal hard water, so should i definitely use the Un Do Goo v the Hard Water Wellness shampoo? I recently meant to buy the un do but accidentally ordered the hard water wellness one. I need to return it in any case because the cap wasn't closed fully so the product leaked out in shipping but I'm wondering which one I should order to replace it.
Which is your favorite?! Summary and list of products on my blog: genamarie.co/2024/09/best-clarifying-chelating-shampoos-for-all-curl-types/

I love the Suave clarifying shampoo as well as V05. I just make sure I condition and use a leave in.

Can you recommend a shower filtration system that is budget friendly?

I've been using the Neutrogena pink grapefruit clarify shampoo... thoughts?
I’ve been using Dawn to clarify 🤷🏼♀️
I have high porosity fine hair and I have been using the Ouai Detox shampoo. It seems to do the job and doesn’t make my hair overly dry.
I've heard its great!
Have you tried the k18 pretreatment clarifying shampoo? I was wondering what your thoughts are on that one.

What styler did you use for hold?
@@GenaMarie ouidad humidity red Best styler I have ever used
You didn’t mention Innersense detox mask.
Because I haven't tested it!

You should be good with the Hard Water Wellness! It will remove hard water minerals without raising the pH so much
I'm confused on clarifying and detoxing.i have soft water.
In that case you can use any of these!
