It's actually not that much, it's more like 1hr (not 2hrs). It is still a difference, but overall most won't notice as people tend to charge their phones and tabs whenever possible in free time.
I have a Samsung Galaxy Tab S8+ and still love it. Perfect for my usage, mainly consuming media & checking feeds in the morning. I traded in my S7 and paid $375 (with tax) total so I'm pretty happy with what I got it for. Don't see me upgrading for a long time (till it starts to get sluggish). Good review as always, even though I always FF through the speaker, camera parts haha.
Same here.. No point in upgrading from one generation to the next, unless there's some big gamechanging upgrade to the hardware and/or functionality.. Not the case here.. The S8+ tablet will last us for a few more years to come..
I have a tiny question as I feel confused , I just bought a tab S8+ and I notice that during use , the screen gets a little hot from one part (the lower half ) . Is this normal or is there something wrong with my device!
I can confirm the battery life, I received my s9+ on August 1st and after a month of heavy usage my avg when taking notes (white background and pen always near the display so no time to go down to 30hz) is about 8 hours (avg of 12%/hour) and when watching videos, movies, or reading it goes way up (avg of 7 to 8%/hour) so about 11 to 13 hour of screen on time.
The jagged edges in games isn't a fault of the device, its the game. Unlike pc vs console where you get more settings to turn up on PC, the tablet and phones are running the game game settings at the same resolution. So it will look worse when scaled up to a bigger screen.
I upgraded from S8+, and the difference in battery is insane tbh, on the S9+1-2% idle after 24hrs compared to the 7-8% on S8+. Snapdragon gen 2 was a nice jump
hi, same thing for me...., better autonomy a dynamic amoled screen, better processor and above all more memory 12g/ram 256g/rom vs 8g/128g, the S8 plus table is already excellent...but if the budget Allows the upgrade to the S9 table plus is worth it.😉👍👍
The reason s9 plus has better speakers because its speakers are 20% larger than s8 plus all s9 tabs have 20% larger speakers as compared to s8 tabs so s9 ultra sound would be amaziing too s8 tabs still have very good speakers they were in top 2 in last year along with ipads but s9 tabs take up notch further
Im watching in October 2024 about a year later. There are very few s8+ new available. It's about $200 difference between the s9+. Same price for the 9 and 10 on Verizon. My s5e gets locked up. Freezes. The touch screen doesn't respond and shutting it off doesn't work. Very aggravating.
That's what I did. No way this is worth upgrading to. I will upgrade in like 3 years. I almost got the ultra but it is too big for me to chill on the couch with. I have the galaxy book2 pro 360 for the bigger screen and laptop use. Although the 1080 display is a pretty big letdown
hi, as I said in a comment above I went from the tab S8 plus to the tab S9 plus... the tab S8 plus is already excellent absolutely nothing to complain about, but if the budget allows it there are some notable improvements such as finally a dynamic screen a better processor better autonomy and above all more memory 12g ram 256 rom vs 8g128g....both are excellent only a question of budget.😉👍👍
I think it's actually might be the "biggest" upgrade from s8+ to s9+ rather than s7+ to s8+ Like for some s8+ might be worse with the throttling but they may or may not have fixed it in the s9+. unless ai is a big improvement in s10
Just received my galaxy tab s9+ and was comparing it to my s7fe before I send it in to complete the trade in. I found something interesting but not sure if it's just my unit or if it's something samsung did intentionally but it looks like compared to the s7fe, the screen saturation has been toned down on the amoled to the point where the s7fe's colors actually look nicer! I found similar trend when I went from the fold 3 to the s23 ultra, and the screen saturation between the s23 ultra and my tab s9+ seems similar so I don't think it's a defect but don't seem to see this toning down of saturation mentioned in reviews so thought I'd ask to see if you noticed this on the s9 series versus previous galaxy tabs
Upgrading from my Samsung Tab S7 which is stuttering here and there due to water damage over the years...justified to get that IP rated upgrade to the S9 Plus!
Looking at one of these for emulators. OLED is the very best for replicating the contrast & glow of a CRT, but I can't afford a huge OLED TV lol. I've tested out PS1 & SNES emulation on my s21 ultra, and it is DROP DEAD GORGEOUS with aperture grille scanline post-processing & HDR. I was shocked at how close it looked to a tiny lil CRT. Just too small to really use it comfortably aside from novelty. Had to prop it up on a pillow pretty close to my face while lying down. These tablets are basically hyper discounted lil OLED monitors that oftentimes look better than hyper expensive TVs.
I have the S8 plus and S9 ultra. Main difference is you can emulate Wii and Gamecube on Dolphin if you want. The S8 can barely emulate gamecube (Stutters); That is the CPU difference. For surfing the net or watching youtube or netflix. No difference. Also no difference on android games/Game pass/PS remote play. One odd thing after an update. Netflix seems dimmer. My wife has the Ipad pro (5th gen; M1 chip). She used to be jealous of how bright my tablet was compared to her Ipad. Now netflix looks similar to the Ipad pro. Not sure if it is a netflix app issue or Samsung trying to get better color accuracy. TH-cam, the screen is still bright. I do not think it is the app because I have a galaxy z fold 3 and netflix is bright on this. Brighter than Ipad pro/S8/S9....Who knows (I like more power and more brightness; yeah I know the doctors say it is not good for your eyes) As far as battery goes. I'm never on it non-stop for 5-6 hours, so I'm not affected. I'm never away from an outlet for that long, so not a big selling point for me. That's my 2 cents.
I love new toys, but the S9+ won't be my next upgrade. I am going to upgrade my watch from 4classic to 6classic and call it a Christmas. My S8+ has been a great companion and will continue to be until maybe the 10+?
Hi, can you please check your S9 Plus on dark room and set your tab on the low brightness, like 5% or below. Did you notice this: 1. Especially if you turn on the 1 tap to show fingerprint area, you will see a line in almost middle of the screen horizontally (landscape position) blink once while also showing the fingerprint area, or when you turn on your tab see before the Samsung logo showing. 2. On your wallpaper, gallery, or video. Did you see a line on top of the image or video? Try a few different picture and video. On the top end of the image or video, not the screen. All of it, most noticeable if you use your tab on full dark room and the lowest brightness. I was complaining this issue to Samsung Service Center, they give me replacement unit. But I found out the replacement unit also have the same issue. I dunno it is hardware issue or software issue, but I just want to make sure if all Tab S9 Plus suffer the same issue?
I'm planning on getting the S9 Ultra, I picked upped 64GB 2022 Tab S6 Lite a few weeks ago for a basic OTG pen tablet. I need to debloat it tho. Pretty much not worth upgrading from the S8 line, it's only a 30-40% CPU bump.

Does the s pen of tab s9 works on tab s8??
Yes
I loved my s8+ it got stolen from my car now the insurance will give me the 9+ couldn't be more happier comes tomorrow
which insurance samsungs?
It depends on what you're upgrading from. Given the fact I'm still using a Tab S4, and looking to upgrade, the S9 seems like the way to go.
