I have worked with so many of these types in my career. California labor laws makes it difficult to fire such people, I guess.

How hard is it to dig an inbox? Just type in the search box for 10 seconds? But, no. These leeches would rather spend 5 minutes at your place to bug you rather than 10 seconds for digging their inbox and doing their own work.
Those were exactly my thoughts, and I'm not even in the corporate world yet XD This is what happens when you grow up in too privileged environments, you don't learn workarounds and need everything spoon-fed to you.
Those type of people in real life are an excellent opportunity to practice saying ‘no’ and respecting your own boundaries. Their whole MO is just knowing most people won’t say no.

Yeah this show does do a lot of research into the world of coding to make everything as realistic as possible. It's one of the reasons why I LOVE it so much, the production value and the huge amount of effort put into small things that matter.

seeing people like gabe work in silicon valley gives me confidence that if i keep studying I can become a programmer because if that guy can do it I think a lot of people can if they work hard enough
