    I am an old man, so I most likely learn new things at A slower pace than younger people. I am having A tough time learning OBS. Most videos, about OBS, here on TH-cam the presenters talk way to fast and all say the same thing sort of like A stuck record and they bore the tar out of their viewers before they ever get to actually teaching them anything. You however, I did learn A lot from. Therefore I gladly subscribed. You an excellent source to learn from. Have A great day and A happy New Year.

    I've been using OBS for a few months and even have a couple of videos recorded with green screen through OBS, but I never thought of switching scenes so seamlessly before. This is great!
    Question: is it often to hit the wrong scene while you are switching? And how do u switch scenes so smoothly without moving your mouse around or shifting your gaze away from the camera?

    • @TimVerdouw
      @TimVerdouw  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hi Ricky, search for StreamDeck. That allows you to switch easily.

    • @MeasuringMarvels
      @MeasuringMarvels 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      adding to Tim's reply, also search for "touch point" and use a phone/tablet as your button surface. Saves a bit of money vs. the StreamDeck. Though, the SD is really handy.

    Hey guys, many have asked what I'm using myself to record this video. It's called Ecamm -> timverdouw.com/ecamm (affiliate link).
    It is a paid software, however, much easier to handle and perfect for those that want more.

    • @gamestreamertv5039
      @gamestreamertv5039 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      promoting afilliate crap such as ecamm which is probably a subscription (blecchhh eternal debt). and detracts from your amazing explanations. Ask for donations to keep your alive would get a donation from me, but afilliate marketing of crap ripoff not needed software to make monetisation is not something i support. As to how to record, Active Presenter free is as good as anything for recording as does blender, and many other apps, and on a Mac quicktime does screencasts and vlogs, so why use paid software when open source and generic software is more than enough. Great explanation//tutorial, crap product in your afilliate link

    • @TimVerdouw
      @TimVerdouw  4 ปีที่แล้ว +8

      @@gamestreamertv5039 Why call it affiliate crap? If you would have tested the demo version yourself you would have come to the conclusion how professional and easy it is.
      I have a $600 Wirecast software on the shelf since I discovered Ecamm. This whole video was shot with Ecamm. People almost daily asking me what I Personally use to shoot my videos.
      I don’t see the issue of me answering by posting my link in the comments section clearly mentioning it’s an affiliate link...

    Great video Tim - Could you please advise what light you use to light your face, and what light(s) you use to light the green screen, and where you place them in the room in relation to the green screen and your face. Thanks very much.

    • @TimVerdouw
      @TimVerdouw  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I'm using a softboxes. Where to place them is depends a lot on the environment. My tip is to just test. Light is the most important thing to get the right keying. A good setup would be two in front of you and one that lights the background.

    Brilliant video. I have been trying to use Sony Vegas for chromer keying using the built in chromer keyer effect without much success as it always leaves a green glow around the subject. It sounds like this OBS software is the one to use for chromer keying. Thanks for the detailed tutorial on how to chromer key in OBS. 10/10

    I've had my GS for about a year...now, I can actually put it to use. BTW, the scene manipulation is platinum! The live performance can work with some practice, I agree. I like it. Thank you very much.

    Do you have to have so many scenes if you just want to have a simple video of you talking about something? I hope that makes sense

    • @TimVerdouw
      @TimVerdouw  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey Isaac, of course you won't need it then :). Simply setup the scene that fits best for you and start recording! :)
