Sorry if somebody already mentioned this but you know how they say they're going to EL ray
And why hes like at the end telling Juliet Lewis not come with him, well that is from a book
    Here description.
El Ray is from the Jim Thompson book “The Getaway
El Rey, which is indeed a sanctuary where criminals can live openly without fear of being extradited. However, all the goods for sale are luxury or first-class, so the cost of living is quite high. Furthermore, El Rey dictates that all residents must spend a certain amount of money per month. This means that, no matter how wealthy a criminal is upon arriving, he quickly gives all his money to El Rey. Fearing banishment to an outlying village with no food or drink, rife with cannibalism and suicide, the criminals kill each other in an attempt to accumulate money to pay El Rey.

“I need to know the level of disgusted I need to be with him” the highest level. Cause Quentin was on one in this movie
Edit: the soundtrack to this movie is fantastic. So many bangers.
2nd edit: that’s Tom savini in the leather jacket. He’s a legend in horror make up. Responsible for stuff like Friday the 13th etc.

Your reaction was the exact same as mine first time I watched it. It becomes a vampire movie over halfway through and completely out of the blue. I was like… wtf?!?!?!

Best bar ever. Till it isn’t. It might be worth it to get that chair dance from Salma. 😈. And you are right the vampire curve ball is right up there with 6th sense’s and usual suspects’ surprises 😂

It had such a good plot at the beginning, I always thought that the movie would have been better if they did not introduce vampires. But it's still one of my favorite movies with a really great soundtrack.

ah Tarantino...another great one down the hatch. I keep thinking how much of a firm foothold this cat had. I mean, he had so many great movies in the 90s. Just amazing. Liked almost all of them. IB is one I still cant sit through. Thnx guys! Peace!

Clooney is such an amazing bad guy badass in this movie. I feel like that’s one of the first twist people experience when watching this and it just builds from there. I also hope first time watchers never have anything spoiled for them. it’s a legitimately shocking film.

The best thing about this movie is the soundtrack. Stevie Ray Vaughan, Jimmie Vaughan, ZZ Top etc. Every track is great.
Juliette Lewis (the daughter) is terrific in "Kalifornia" with Brad Pitt (her boyfriend at the time) & David Duchovny. She plays a heartbreakingly innocent young girl in love with a lunatic killer (Brad!!) in a truly suspenseful thriller that hardly ever gets mentioned these days but is SO worth watching.
Just recently discovered your channel & I'm hooked. Much love to you, Blank, & those darling babies from a fellow Kentuckian (I know you're a transplant but still...)

The most fun Robert Rodriguez movie is _Desperado_ which also features a smoking hot Salma, Cheech, Tito (the singer), Danny Trejo, a cameo from Quentin. Also a familar phallic firearm makes an appearance *but* that isn't even the craziest weapon in the film!

Juliette Lewis (and her feet) will appear again in the last Tarantino script he didn't direct - Natural Born Killers
She's in a lot of stuff, but don't miss her in Strange Days and Cape Fear.

The make-up and effects were done by a younger Greg Nicotero and his EFX company who would go on to be THE practical make-up/FX guy on a little project called THE WALKING DEAD. He actually made a cameo in the film. When we get introduced to Sex Machine (played by Tom Savini, a make-up/FX genius and director himself of the 1990 remake of NIGHT OF THE LIVING DEAD, he was supposed to do makeup for Romero's original film, but he had to serve in Vietnam, he is also Nicotero's mentor in make-up), the guy Machine steals the beer from and shows off his gun to is Nicotero, the blond guy. Fred Williamson was also a huge blacksploitation film actor. Also, in the opening scene, the guy behind the bar, John Hawkes, played in DEADWOOD and other good films like WINTER'S BONE and SMALL TOWN CRIME. The officer that got shot was Michael Parks who has been in several Tarantino films, he was the cop in glasses at the beginning of KILL BILL, some fan theories are it's the same character from this film! And he was also the Hispanic pimp in KILL BILL 2. And of course Juliette Lewis was in NATURAL BORN KILLERS. So glad you finally got this "lost" Tarantino film. This film is full of so many Easter eggs and raw talent at play. This film was Tarantino and Rodriguez making a sandbox for all these 80s makeup and FX crews to play in. This was a last remnant of those crazy cocaine cabinet films of the 70s and 80s. But you know this means you have to watch the double feature of GRINDHOUSE: PLANET TERROR and DEATH PROOF. But stay far away from any Dusk til Dawn sequels.

Glad he didn't know about the vampires. Cop at the beginning was the cop that The Bride spit on in Kill Bill. He is also in "Planet Terror" (directed by Rodriguez) and "Death Proof" (written/directed by Tarantino), which both came out in theaters as a double feature btw. "Desperado" is a Rodriguez movie with a quick cameo by Tarantino as well, and they worked together on "Sin City" as well. Enjoy!

That was Michael Parks, who made an early wave in TV with THEN CAME BRONSON about a burned-out reporter tracking a Vietnam vet's death. Good series. Michael had a number of films, including the now rarely seen Murderous Cop in THE CHINA LAKE MURDERS with Tom Skerritt as the Good Cop tracking middle-of-nowhere murders of travelers.

It's less wacky but more in line with what Robert Rodriguez had in mind when the idea first came to him for the movie. I've only seen the first season so I can't say if it's good throughout but season one is very good
