My headcanon is that Jafar became bound to a lamp because he wasn’t specific. Like, he wished to be an “all powerful genie”…but he didn’t wish to be a FREE one.😈
@@TheCatPrideCinema You can find bloopers/outtakes of what Robin said throughout the film and the cut versions of a cheerleading chant against Jafar go hard.

Originally the movie was supposed to end with the reveal that the peddler at the beginning was the genie. That's why they were both voiced by Robin Williams. But they didn't end up going that route. Robin also voiced a character named Batty Koda in another movie called Ferngully: The Last Rainforest that came out around the same time as Aladdin. Disney actually tried to get him to quit Ferngully and only do Aladdin but he refused since he had signed onto Ferngully first and believed in the message of the movie about saving the rainforests. Because of that, Disney actively tried to sabotage Ferngully's production to get it shut down but they failed.
omg I heard that from I think either CinemaSins or The Nostalgic Critic 😹😹😹 kind of a shame that they didn't end up going on that route tho oh wow that's so interesting that that whole thing with Robin Williams was going down 🙀
@@TheCatPrideCinema Funny enough, it goes even deeper than that. Because Robin wasn't an A-list actor at the time, he didn't want his image and name being used to promote products, so he requested not only to not have his name in the end credits (He went under the uncreative pseudonym 'Sudy Nim' for animated projects) but for the Genie to take up no more than 20% of the poster. But because he was working with Warner Bros., aka, the competition at the time, Disney's CEO saw him as a traitor and not only had Genie take up a huge chunk of the poster, but also put Williams' name in the credits, resulting in him no longer wanting to work with the studio. Thankfully, the CEO who took over the previous one apologized, therefor getting him back for Aladdin 3, but that was beyond petty.
When you were talking about how much you love villain songs, it made me realize how much of a shame it was that they actually removed the originally planned song for Jafar as that was going to a full-blown number whereas here, we get a reprise to a different song that I swear is less than a minute long.
hahaha well, maybe it was a spell of his gone wrong 😹 or right depending on how you look at it - I would so love to see a sas battle between Jafar and Yzma 😹
For a man who wasn't a singer, Robin Williams had pipes. I love the way he sang "Friend Like Me" and "Prince Ali" *He'll always be the best Genie. RIP, Legend*
Really sucks what disney did to him though. He made a request/demand when he agreed to do this role that his voice (not the genie character in general) but specifically Robin Williams's voice, lines spoken in the movie or the like, would NOT be used to market or be part of any commercial efforts, so no toys, adds, etc... He just did not want his voice to be used for that. Disney naturally ignored him completely on that and used their army of lawyers to bully him into submission.
Fun fact: In the late 1990's, The Enchanted Tiki Room got an update called "Under New Management" in Walt Disney World, which featured Iago and Zazu from The Lion King as hosts. Unfortunately, however, it's not as good as it sounds, which is unfortunate, as Gilbert Gottfried can actually sing well, when given the right tune

That’s even a good thing when we know that this detail wasn’t important before. About the Génie, he's a magical creature but his bond to the lamp kind of puts limits to his powers. Regarding what happens to the Genie after the film, a lot depends on which interpretation you use. Aladdin is loosely based on an old Middle Eastern folk tale. Although usually associated with the 17th century "1001 Nights" compilation, these stories go back to the Islamic Golden Age which started in the late 8th century and have some pagan roots. In Islamic versions, Jinn are equivalent to demons able to take human and animal forms, but in pre-Islamic tales they were spirits associated with inanimate objects like rocks, trees, rivers, etc. and elements like air and fire. Other rules also vary: the version referenced in the Quran have genders, families, and their own religions and cultures. They also have bodily needs and can die, but are otherwise free of physical constraints and operate as trickster spirits. Some are even good. We can probably assume the Genie is based on the Islamic tradition, so post-lamp he would become an incorporeal being following his own nature rather than being constrained to the wishes of his current master. He would have vast powers, but would also be more mortal. [Probably more than you wanted, but oh well. Love your reactions so I'm watching the early stuff.]
Great reaction yeah there are two good sequels to this movie. The first one is Aladdin the return of Jafar, which is what happened to Jafar after him after he returns as a genie, and the other one is Al and the king of thieves we find out about Aladdin‘s past and about Jasmine Aladdin‘s wedding, very good. They both didn’t go to theater to save money. They were really good people don’t think so because they didn’t go to theaters but they were really good people sitting on the first one, but they are really good. Is that part two Aladdin TV show Disney made for Disney Channel Because it was dispute between Disney and Robin Williams about money so they’re placed on the TV show with another guy. He was good not as good as Robin Williams but he was good. Use him for part two which is about him coming back as a genie everybody is the same except for the genie from the TV show on Disney Channel TV show plays right after the first movie and adventures small adventures with the genie and Jasmine Gene has powers but not as much power like half without the lamp has powers third movie because Jafar made some money Disney and Aladdin and Robin Williams made a new deal. He came back with third movie Aladdin King of thieves Aladdin past and the wedding it’s very good. They went right to DVD and VHS. They didn’t go to theaters to save money but they were still good. I feel sorry for Aladdin TV show guy a good job. He wasn’t Robin Williams. He did the best he could with what he had, the TV show was good. Good movie when is bad live action version of Aladdin with Will Smith. He wasn’t bad. It’s one of the best live action movies I’ve seen in Disney remakes but it’s still not as good as the Animated version the funny thing about that is special edition of the Aladdin animated DVD, which I got from the Disney movie club, which has deleted scenes with Aladdin‘s mother in it. I wish they kept that in from the original story, which was on TV once done by Shelley Duvall, the live action of Aladdin before the cartoon inspired the Disney version that one started Keith Carradine as Aladdin. The genie was played by James Earl Jones, and there were two genies in that original story a genie of the rings, which is a nice genie and a genie lamp, which is nice but main is more powerful. They’re both played by, James Jones and Jafar is played by Leonard Leonard Nimoy. Excellent could see that one and lost if you do find it’s called show Shelly Duvall puppet theater or Playhouse. It’s only a bunch of other nursery rhymes and Aladdin just one of them and Jasmine‘s play by Valerie Bertinelli I forget who plays this really good guy the good actor who plays the sultan Jasmine‘s dad that inspired the Aladdin from Disney that was like the 80s Aladdins in the 90s thanks for the fun until next time

Joy Ride 2001
Magic Carpet is the best hahaha
I love the list you spoke of ❤️
Aladdin 2 and 3 r not as great (straight to dvd) 3 is better then 2
If you like Jafar you will probably like Frolo from hunchback of notrdome (if you haven't seen that one yet)
haha thank ya 😺 yeah I hear the third one is better than the second, can't wait to give them a try haha
Frolo is.... something hahaha I mean I can't stand the guy but he's a FANTASTIC character. Great villian!
The live action is a very poor copy
welp then I'm sure it'll be.... entertaining... 😅😅😅
I LOVED this movie. And Genie is my spirit animal.🧞♂🧞♂
Genie is such a vibe! And hilarious hahaha
@@TheCatPrideCinema And knowing the late Robin Williams was his voice, whenever I see Genie in this movie (and in Aladdin & the King of Thieves), I can legit view Genie as Robin being nothing more than a comedic ham... Who makes us laugh every, single, time he speaks.
