I was in high school when this fabulous group released this song. One of the best songs to dance to back then. You just couldn’t stay still!
I'm pretty sure he was still a teenager here and singing live plus they were a British band.
I wasn't born when this came out but that time must've been so exciting !!

He was 18 here but he joined the band at 14 and was 16 when their first single (keep on running ) was recorded
I lived through this and many more great bands and singers. It WAS a great time to grow up and the music was way better. Sorry, kids.

Steve Winwood was 16 at the time- Ray Charles was his hero and he is still going today at age 72....many hits in the 60s, early 70s and a resurgence in the 80s....His band Traffic had many classics in the early 7Os and he went solo in the 80s

My parents music! My dad had quite the record collection of him and mom's 60's music. They brought me up listening to all of this. You should react to some Grass Roots, The Who, The Yardbirds... all good music!

Lol I totally thought this band or at least the the singer was a black guy for sure too. He sings with soul.
I always thought it was a black man singing this! Now I know who it was.
Okay being this is one of my Favorite all time songs I figured I'd explain so if you really wanna feel how this song is supposed to make you feel you need to go and watch Iron Eagle and the flight scene when Doug Masters goes into the Iraqi airfield camp to save his father. I remember to this day how I felt as a young kid watching that movie.

I used to go to see them when I was a teenager. Apparently, Steve had to be picked up from school by the band when he first started singing with them!
