    The Haval H6 Hybrid is the latest addition to the Haval line-up in South Africa which came almost immediately following the introduction of the H6 GT. This comes as a savior to those who love Haval but are always concerned about the high fuel consumption of their 1.5L/2.0L turbo petrol motors. The H6 Hybrid is powered by a 1.5L turbocharged petrol engine mated to a two-speed 130kW electric motor and 1.8kWh battery pack.
    The petrol engine is good for 110kW and 230Nm, while the electric motor makes 300Nm no indication of how much it makes in terms of power. I cannot explain some complex calculations, but the total system outputs are 179kW of power and 530Nm of torque. It is only available in a 2WD where the power is sent to the front wheels via a two-speed Direct Hybrid Transmission.
    It comes standard with a 5-year/60 000km service plan, a 5-year/100 000km warranty, and the case of this

      On paper I used to think it's a little off but I saw it before launch on the R21 and I was hooked. I also love the front. The rear light bar is my only issue, only if it was illuminating like it does when the breaks are on I would be very fond of it.

      @@markarcher5730 I hear you, the short cut buttons are actually an important "safety" element besides convenience. On the seats, under thigh support is something I feel we don't focus a lot on and I know it was an issue in the Haval after a long drive. I am not sure about H6, I haven't done a long drive in it. Hope it's better🤔

      True. Getting the H6 with less fuel consumption just gives you a complete vehicle really, this one is much more impressive compared to the H6 GT for me. It makes so much sense and I am expecting it to do well. Hybrids may buy us time with ICE actually. I can only wonder how much the Jolion Hybrid is going to be priced because if priced well, it might just be the most attractive Haval to ever come to SA🤔

    • @ZakPooe
      @ZakPooe ปีที่แล้ว

      @@sebuwam I was actually looking at what the Jolion Hybrid would cost here, using Aussie pricing as reference. It carries a AUS $7000 premium compared to the Lux (Super Luxury), and that's about R81200 more. Maybe that's not too bad but time will tell. As for the GT, looks-wise they nailed it but yeah, the H6 Hybrid is a winner. I'm curious though, how soft did you have to be on the pedal to keep it Electric Mode?

    Yo Sebuwa🎉🤓nice one mate. The haval dude is actually quite informative in terms of teaching us the product.
    The HEV is got serious competition. I mean the Toyota Rav even the cross hybrid are already very successful offerings.
    I know South Africans love Haval but I’m not sure we really into Hybrids that much although they really save the pocket. I suspect for the short run they easy to live with but if you intend to own it long term can you imagine cost of maintenance🤔
    I personally would prefer Hybrid over fully electric at least you know don’t have to charge it(although some hybrids do need to be charged) plus more range👌🏽

    • @sebuwam
      @sebuwam  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Ozem 🙂! I like how he goes the extra mile to learn something about the cars he sells. Generally S.Africans love their comfort zone and Toyota is that to them. Yes Haval is gaining traction but many out there will still choose Rav 4 over this one especially with the price almost similar. People are starting to gain insights on these hybrids and electric vehicles as information is starting to overflow and slowly they will warm up to it. I think this is currently the best offering in the H6 line up ofcoz Jolion is reported to be coming soon and it will challenge the Corolla Cross as well. If other brands are not worried they are ignorant, Haval's biggest issue has been fuel consumption and resolving that (especially at Jolion level) may start causing serious headaches out there. I honestly prefer hybrid over EVs as well. This is a good product overall, impressive. 👌🏾

    • @sebuwam
      @sebuwam  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      With a reported consumption of 5.2L/100km it can change a lot of things for Haval. We averaged more (7.5) but did not reset it before we left and we were not only driving it conservatively. Considering that it's a new car I think it can get to 6L/100km. Eish my story with Haval SA is different Demtumza, reached out to them and they have been quite. Out of all brands that I have on the channel, Haval is the most difficult to get to it seems. Dealerships hardly give you cars without anyone as they have a high footprint at Haval, a customer may come looking to test drive and that's their priority. I will keep trying though. Very much appreciate your presence Demtumza🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽🙌🏽

    To answer the question in your title.. it's simply no, you can't drive it without petrol. The battery capacity is too small to support drive without petrol. Maybe in your yard or estate you can drive without fuel. Only a Plugin Hybrid will be able to drive without petrol. It's only for short distances.
    A plugin hybrid for me makes more sense as it gives you the best of both

    • @sebuwam
      @sebuwam  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Mmmh! I get you this has a 1.8kwh battery pack, it looks like one may need close to 10kwh battery to have a reasonable range on electric motor only. I was just wondering if one can get 50km without petrol but the range may be too small on such a small battery (using logic and not experience here). Thanks a lot for the valuable input Sipho.🙏🏽🙏🏽

    • @demtumza
      @demtumza ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The problem with plugin hybrids is that you lose a lot of fuel advantage on long journeys due to a heavier battery as the car cannot recharge as frequent as in a start stop situation, the other problem is charging time is very long, so personally I prefer the HEVs...
