Well, I just bought one.. waiting for it from the dealership! Test drove it twice, was ok first drive, second drive I picked up on way more of the features it had, took it on the motorway, smooth engine, so nice to drive, can't wait!!!
Thanks for the review bro. I was looking at Haval Dargo and H6 Hybrid, then I went to Toyota center to review RAV4, bro I got dissapointed for so much money they give such a bad quality RAV4, I was dissapointed really and comparing to Haval, it felt so good that Haval price is even lower but performance and quality build felt so much better. I did 2 test drives for Haval Dargo and H6 (without hybrid version), I enjoyed it a lot. On a bumby road feels so smooth and there is good sound proff inside also. All these 360 cameras has better quality than RAV4 with old style monitor which has only 1 or 2 cameras (front and back). Currently I have Toyota Auris but planing to buy a second car because I want SUV something higher and more practice. I think in 2023 I will order my Haval H6 Hybrid, here in my country Moldova (next to Romania) price for best version is around $30k and it's way more bettern than RAV4 for around $40k which don't even hav a opening roof. Thanks for review again. Love it!
Thanks for your really helpful comment. Im sure a lot of people that find my video will appreciate your notes! I hope to test the H6 GT and the Toyota Rav4 Hybrid as comparisons as soon as possible.
Also South African. I just bought the Haval H6 HEV in Thailand. Loving it so far. Test drove the car at the Bangkok Motor Show and placed the order on the same day. Now living in Hua Hin and loving the car. Thanks for the review.
Nice review, by the way, for safety reasons keep keys in your pocket and not in the car since you won't need them because of push start and when you're away, your car won't start. You won't need to remember to pick them up before you leave your vehicle because they'll be already in your pocket.
We bought a black one of these. Not the easiest to keep clean but looks great. Its the wifes car and she is in love with it. First time filling up we covered just over 900km, economy is at 6.9l / 100km. The storage area under where you placed your keys is great and quite large as well. She just loves the auto reverse parking feature. Any excuse to go shopping now it seems. As you stated it is very powerful and responsive. Im sure we will have this car for quite a few years to come.
Thanks for the helpful feedback, im sure many will find it very useful... and yes... it looks so good in black, regardless of practicality! Enjoy your wheels.

I enjoyed this review about the Haval even though in Canada we may not see a Chinese car any time soon. Must say that I'm also impressed with the Haval H6 HEV. I noticed there are quite a lot of round abouts where you live, it does seem easier and faster to commute? 🙂
Hey Michael. Thanks for the comment! Hopefully more Chinese manufacturers head into the Canadian market soon because these vehicles are really impressed! As for the round-abouts (we call them circles - very original) Yeah in suburbs we have quite a few and they certainly keep traffic flow more smooth.

Great review, youre the first person to talk about the air vents in the front. I do agree with you that the boot is a big concern, i love my luggage space big and versatile and while its long and wide its not deep like the non hybrid. Also that lack of spare wheel is a no go for me, ive gotten way too many flats in my life to let that slide. Also the reason car manufacturers are going button-less is because its cheaper. The wiring looms that make buttons possible are expensive, more now since the supply chain issues and the fact most of them are made in Ukraine. Finally the cant really move the load cover anywhere else, that back window is really high and small(thank goodness this comes with a reverse camera as standard), to reposition it would make that back window even more useless.
Cheers for the comment. Yeah the no spare wheel does concern me but in all honesty, i think the price-point will absolutely win over many many buyers and i dont blame them!
@@capetownactiveofficial yeah thats true, people will look at it and a Rav4 and when they compare apples to apples the H6 comes out with more for the money.
@@markarcher5730 i know someone thats interested in this but the main turn off is the lack of a spare wheel. Same thing with alot of EVs as well, no spare wheel. I get that in the hybrid there is nowhere to put it if the car didnt have accommodation underneath but a full EV built from the ground up? Come on!
Just bought one from Thorp! Incredible car. The Yankees and Germans had better pull their socks up! This car is on a par with Merc Audi and BMW - for 40 percent less!!
Thanks for the honest words. We got here the PHEV which you can even charge and run 200 KM full EV even at higher speeds. Your review made me convince to buy this car this week :) I test drove it already and it was great but good to see how happy you are after 1 week as well.
Excellent review! Did you get a chance to ask why no run flats? I travel to areas where there are no petrol stations or mobile services - it would be hell caught at night with a flat!
Great review. Strange that you can't change the interior light colours, as you can in the H6C. The boot in the H6C is also disappointingly small and while the aircon vents are much bigger, I find the aircon just isn't good enough for the SA heat.
Thanks for your comment :) Perhaps there is a way tp change the ambient lighting but for the life of me, i couldn't find it. As for the aircon, it works super well, the vents are just super direct haha. Cheers for the support
Hi dear As a HAVAL H6 HEV user, I want your very real experience with this vehicle. After a long mileage, how you found Haval in Comfort level, Driving ease, Safety measures, Suspensions result? ANY ANY ANY COMPLAINTS? Would you like to recommend me buy this SUV? Please I need your real life based experience rather than video talks like many other guys do. Thankyou
The H6 HEV is a very very surprising vehicle which i found comfortable over any distance as well as VERY fuel efficient! It also has more features than you could ask for so at the price point. It's a great vehicle and i would absolutely recommend test driving it for yourself before purchasing it.
In terms mid-size suv, Chinese cars are competing so intensely at their market, it has to be so good if anyone can survive, the hybrid, PHEV and Ev techs is much batter evolved than Japanese or Korean equivalents, the best hybrid system out there are BYD and Havel, they both can series and parallel connection between engine and motor
I would like to have your opinion about this speed/odo display behind me steering wheel which from a distance looks more like a tilted smartphone. Many car makers are now fitting this instead of the conventional cluster of guages and speedo and odo.
Hey hey. Thanks for the comment! So my personal opinion is a bit mixed... Im a little old school in that i like traditional cluster layouts but on the flip-side, Haval have done such a great job with this as it is customisable and i think it is pretty necessary in that you'd want to easily access info on what the vehicle is doing (being a hybrid) I guess it always comes down to personal preference but my preference changes depending on the vehicle. This vehicle, perfect... but for example when i tested the Mustange 5.0L V8... Give me traditional clusters. Hope that somewhat satisfies your intrigue.
@@capetownactiveofficial Thanks for the reply. Yes I agree, I'm also an old school instrument cluster enthusiast, hence my question. I prefer those ones that have dedicated slots in dash, it gives it a more bulky feel typical for a serious sporty car or an SUV. This HEV is great as at a very reasonable purchase price and big imposing dimensions, 6.5 ltrs/100 km makes it one of the best options and takes it far ahead of the competition.
How much time have you owned that vehicle, and what is it's current mileage? How many preventive maintenance sessions has your car had done? Would this review be the same up to this day? Nice video BTW!
Thanks for the comment, appreciate the kind words. UNfortunately, I don't own this vehicle. I only had it on test from Haval SA for about 2 weeks. This video was uploaded the day following shooting. Sorry i can't be more help in this regard.
Any review about H6 night driving experience? For the LED quality at night and Rear cam quality at night when you reversing in the dark night country roads or bush.
Havjng lived with my h6 hev or 6 months and 8000kms it takes alot to get used to the lane keeping is a pita you are constantly fighting the wheel and doesnot allow smooth driving on county roads it can be turned off but only on start up The adaptive cruise control also slows you downon sweeping country bends so if in the country and what to flow into and out of corners drive the car dont cruise A minor problem is if you like to rest your elbow on the top of the door you will end up with pins and needles in your right hand This is what i have found after a 2 week drive almost 3500 kms trip .
Thanks for your valuable comment. It's nice to get feedback from people who own the vehicle. I understand the lane keeping can put some people off. I'm sure there must be a way to turn this feature off permanently and not just when turning the vehicle on... interesting. Thanks for watching the review. We are pushing to get behind the wheel of competitive brands and bring better reviews asap

Hey there. Im not 100% sure however in general sunroofs don't affect roof racks however most of the time you wont be able to completely open the roof, however i stand to be corrected. Maybe someone else in the comments has some insight?
Hi Grant is there any torque steer when putting yr foot down? How does the self parking fair? How's the turning circle experience and how does harsh braking fair ?
Hey there. Thanks for the comment. So, I only had the vehicle for 2 weeks but regards to your questions: 1) I did experience a little torque steer but really nothing to write home about (in my experience) 2) Living in the suburbs, unfortunately didn't get a chance to test self park but reviews i have seen show that it works a treat. 3) Turning circle, no hassles! 4) Being a test vehicle i didn't test hard breaking but given the feel of the vehicle and the all-round drive quality, i don't think there would be any issues.
Agreed. As i said, i feel this is an oversight and surely going to be a problem. Other Haval models do have a spare wheel, this seems to only be an issue with the HEV
The H6 comes with a pump/foam repair kit , but that’s not going to work if you have a sidewall or rim damage. So, yes it’s an issue, especially as there’s nowhere to store a spare + jack etc. In Thailand 5 years roadside assistance comes free with all the GWM range .

@@mohamedraiteb2680 i bought it using it from last few months very satisifed with car i did a trip of 3500km in saudi arabia in around 48c to 50c degree temp car was handlijg 145kmph speed like a cake in city fuel consumption is also good overall satisifed with purchase car also feels durable a sedan hit me from the back at signal and sedan front was damaged badly i only had minor scrarch at my bumper
You said your not a car journalist you should be !!! great review
Thanks so much, that's very kind!
Great review man! I'm getting this car in 2 weeks
Amazing review. Very much helped me lock in a test drive. I'm assuming the blacked out wheels and parts of the chrome trim were done aftermarket?
Thank you very much! I had this vehicle on test from Haval SA directly so, this spec is exactly how it came :)
You can tilt the HUD 1 degree to the left or right. Might improve its visibility through polarised sunglasses
I'll be getting run flats for my h6. Those tyres have come a long way
@@markarcher5730 i know someone thats interested in this but the main turn off is the lack of a spare wheel. Same thing with alot of EVs as well, no spare wheel. I get that in the hybrid there is nowhere to put it if the car didnt have accommodation underneath but a full EV built from the ground up? Come on!
@@mindfreeze0838 I'll be getting run flats for mine. Great tyre reviews for hancook
Just bought one from Thorp! Incredible car. The Yankees and Germans had better pull their socks up! This car is on a par with Merc Audi and BMW - for 40 percent less!!
ENJOY! Really is a fantastic choice
Good morning! Do you still own the car? Your opinion and comments please! Thanks
for the next time, please be informed that you can easily find out the wheel inches from the tire, it's written on it
Thanks for the honest words. We got here the PHEV which you can even charge and run 200 KM full EV even at higher speeds. Your review made me convince to buy this car this week :) I test drove it already and it was great but good to see how happy you are after 1 week as well.
So glad you found it useful. Thank you
Good morning! Did you buy the car? Your opinion please! Thanks
Love it, just bought one. Will receive it this week😎
How is it treating you, mate
Hello, your opinion after you bought the car? Thanks
Excellent review! Did you get a chance to ask why no run flats? I travel to areas where there are no petrol stations or mobile services - it would be hell caught at night with a flat!
great review, thanks!
The dim thing with polarised sunglasses happens to me as well in a 2022 Toyota Camry Hybrid. It is a bit of a problem but, not really an issue.
Nope, no big deal, just quite amusing.
@@capetownactiveofficial Agree 🙂
Hi dear
As a HAVAL H6 HEV user, I want your very real experience with this vehicle.
Great review!
Thanks David. Much appreciated!
Best honest review!!! Keep it up bro!!
grant well done boet u easy to listen to and very informative
Mate i appreciate that a lot. Hoping to do more reviews as soon as possible. Difficult to get brands to notice.
good review bro. cruisy presentation.
Really appreciate the kind words bro. WOuld love if you'd give my other reviews a watch?
Thanks for sharing ur review . Btw , how is the reliability of this Haval H6 Hev? Any major issues?
I would like to have your opinion about this speed/odo display behind me steering wheel which from a distance looks more like a tilted smartphone. Many car makers are now fitting this instead of the conventional cluster of guages and speedo and odo.
Hey hey. Thanks for the comment! So my personal opinion is a bit mixed... Im a little old school in that i like traditional cluster layouts but on the flip-side, Haval have done such a great job with this as it is customisable and i think it is pretty necessary in that you'd want to easily access info on what the vehicle is doing (being a hybrid)
I guess it always comes down to personal preference but my preference changes depending on the vehicle.
I wonder which car is the hybrid consumption champion...is 6 litres per 100km an outstanding figure?
Friend, did you try the haval h6 gt? I tried both and the hybrid gives superior agility... I look forward to your response!
Hey There. I haven't had the H6 Gt on test yet but hoping to do so soon.
Good review. TX allot
Any review about H6 night driving experience? For the LED quality at night and Rear cam quality at night when you reversing in the dark night country roads or bush.
Nothing negative to report on that front, I found the vehicle very comfortable, safe and easy to drive at night.
Buying it in this color, I'd have to put PPF on it immediately when I fetch. I don't like scratches
Great to see a review happening in my neighbourhood Sunningdale.
Cheers mate! If you see a bright Red Mustang rollign around at the moment, give a wave and a hoot! Candid review coming soon
@@capetownactiveofficial Will do homie. Great content!
Havjng lived with my h6 hev or 6 months and 8000kms it takes alot to get used to the lane keeping is a pita you are constantly fighting the wheel and doesnot allow smooth driving on county roads it can be turned off but only on start up
The adaptive cruise control also slows you downon sweeping country bends so if in the country and what to flow into and out of corners drive the car dont cruise
A minor problem is if you like to rest your elbow on the top of the door you will end up with pins and needles in your right hand
This is what i have found after a 2 week drive almost 3500 kms trip
.
Hello! Do you always have the car! Please make your remarks or criticisms! Thanks
In us, toyota corolla Le otd price 26K, nothing in the car, no leather, no panoramic roof
Thanks for this, have you ever try to work out how to adjust the interior mirror?
Hey there. to be honest i cant remember adjusting the mirror when i had the vehicle on test. With that said, im sure it was manually adjustable but im not sure.
Nice review man. My partner adores that car. I'm more interested in the houses. Property is more fair based to me. Which area is this? My daughter would love it there.
Thanks very much for the kind words mate! To answer your question, this is Sunningdale, Cape Town.
@@capetownactiveofficial Thanks man
Try putting the hud in snow mode with your sun glasses on should be able to see it
These cars all need black roof liners, I don’t know why they missing it.
Hi, very good-looking car and nice review, i want to know how did you manage to get the black color on windows as on side profile, As in my country its in silver/chrome color.
Hi There, Thanks for your comment.
So, this is simply how the Haval H6 HEV comes as standard in South Africa. Best bet would be to contact a dealer, perhaps it's an option you can select.
@@capetownactiveofficial i bought 1 3 days ago, black and it offers silver chrome, I am again watching your video and trying to find any tape that might help me to turn them into black.
@@alikashifsride Congratulations!! Have you considered maybe taking them to someone that can Wrap them in black or spray them black for you? I think that would be your best option
Just stood outside with my foot trying to open the boot. No luck.. love the rest of the video
Just kick under the middle of bumper. No need to slide it. Like he did.
@@wcrash9361 hi. Thanks for letting me know, If you could please guide me where this feature is in the menu. I have tried looking for it without success.
As far as im aware there is no setting for this (I cannot be 100% certain though) But give a little straight kick just under the centre of the rear bumper. I figure this after posting this review. Hope you come right.
I got it!!! Randomly wanted to show my fiend and it started happening.. as if you need to awake the sensor somehow. But thanks for showing me this again. And lovong the car.
@@antondeswardt2027 Winner winner chicken dinner!! Stoked you figured it!
There was a picture with your MTB. Can you put it inside without disassembling the front wheel?
Hey there.
To be completely honest i actually can't recall whether my wheel was on or not. That said though, it's a 7 seater vehicle and as such, does allow for more space for bikes.
How's the car holding up after a year?
Hi... only came across your review today. Curious whether you still have the car and how has it held up after a year? Fuel economy? Still recommend it? Tx
Hey mate. Unfortuantely only had the vehicle for a week or so but did have it again on test recently. I also know of people who own it and have been very happy all round.
Can u pls suggest that it’s a reliable car like Toyota or not
Wait what are people supposed to do for a spare tyre?
Thanks for the comment. My point precisely... idk
2:30 you have the Ultra version so those are 19 inch rims ;)
Has the spare wheel problem been resolved - that is quite a concern.
Unfortunately not to my knowledge... the no spare wheel thing is actually a very common thing with a lot of new vehicles these days
Good review
The reason for lack of buttons: H6 has voice control for domestic version
Completely understood, it's just for things like driving modes, an actual button is nice. But this is just my opinion :)
How is the Haval H6 Hev doing now? You still recommend it? Any big hicups yet?
Thanks for the comment. Unfortunately i only had the vehicle on test for a short time however i have friends that own one and so far have been nothing but impressed and happy with the purchase.
cool car mate, those are 19 inch wheels ;)
does the sunroof stop you being able to put roof racks on?
Hey there. Im not 100% sure however in general sunroofs don't affect roof racks however most of the time you wont be able to completely open the roof, however i stand to be corrected. Maybe someone else in the comments has some insight?
Can u pls tell me it’s worth to buy haval as now looking the market
Hi there.
I feel that given its price point is incredible value for money.
Omg....looks awesome
The no sparewheel part is kinda a dealbreaker
Lekker boet....Nice review!
It is a great car. Modern and hi tech
I hope you realised eventually that your hud brightness can be adjusted if your wearing polarised sunglasses
Hi Grant is there any torque steer when putting yr foot down? How does the self parking fair? How's the turning circle experience and how does harsh braking fair ?
Hey there.
Thanks for the comment. So, I only had the vehicle for 2 weeks but regards to your questions:
1) I did experience a little torque steer but really nothing to write home about (in my experience)
2) Living in the suburbs, unfortunately didn't get a chance to test self park but reviews i have seen show that it works a treat.
3) Turning circle, no hassles!
4) Being a test vehicle i didn't test hard breaking but given the feel of the vehicle and the all-round drive quality, i don't think there would be any issues.
okay so what happens when you get a flat tire?
