  • I know I'm a bit late, but here is the video. To be completely honest with you, I was not expecting this from Codemasters/EA. It is understandable that this is a commercial game and not a passion project, but still, a little bit of love should be showered upon rally fans.
    I hope you enjoy it. Like, Comment, Subscribe & Share.
    Have fun :)

    This is the reason I'm holding off buying it for now as they have carried the same dodgy steering over from dirt 2.0. when you turn in the car instantly rotates around it's axis rather than steers. It's front half immediately turns in as much as it's rear half turns out. Then it slips off to the direction you're now pointing. Sometimes. The only thing physics wise I can gather that has improved is the suspension now actually moves so you don't have to set every car up with the softest possible spring rates in order for the struts to actually do something.

      I do agree with the handling part. It rotates too quickly and easily. The lateral grip is unbelievable.

      @@darthsnape It's funny that I keep seeing people prefer these physics over KT's physics, which were more "true to life" in terms of handling characteristics. Too bad those titles are all riddled with other issues..

      @void_snw I did like WRC generations and what KT did. The weightlessness factor was really great. Except it was abandoned soon after :(

      You know the Car is in one piece right? It's not a blob. So turning the front turns the rear lol. Rally cars have tight sway bars ffs.

    I suppose EA is not really interested in making Sim Racing games, you see, none of its rally games have triple screen support. The physics feel like its mobile game Real Racing 3. BTW will there be a video on 787B?

    • @darthsnape
      @darthsnape  8 หลายเดือนก่อน +4

      I really hoped for the new title to not be tainted by EA’s magic. But I think I was fooling myself like many others.
      Also, 787B? That’s a great idea. Thanks for that! 😉 I’ll see what I can do.

    Re the Group B acceleration. I think WRC is closer to the truth. I'm sure that I remember from many years back an article about how the Audi group B car would hit top speed (geared for about 210km/h) in about 12 seconds on a loose surface. The Dirt 2.0 acceleration seems more valid for tarmac and I have seen similar 0-100 km/h times with 4 wheel drive and sticky hillclimb spec tyres in real life.
    In reality I have recently started playing RBR again for the first time in about 15 years, after being a big Dirt 2.0 fan and see no point in buying WRC until it has finished development.

      I didn't know about WRC's GroupB being accurate. Is it limited to Quattro only?
      And I agree with your statement. WRC is unfinished atm. Hopefully it get's better.

    Hello again 😀
    I think in a comment you said you are game developer,if i remember correctly
    We have BeamNG,AC and RBR
    How hard and time consuming you would think it would be to combine the best tyre models and cars with good graphics and good pacenotes?
    Is it like we take the best engine of the 3 and we modify the models add pacenotes and we done or it could be much more difficult
    Im sure there is a way if money were available
    I would sure pay some money or maybe a small subcription to have the "perfect" rally game
    Maybe a graphics mode and improved pacenotes on RBR would be the best

    • @darthsnape
      @darthsnape  18 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      Hey! I'm not actually a dev, but I work in the industry. Now regarding the combination, it will be difficult. And creating an entirely new tyre model from scratch is very time consuming. Tyres are the hardest part to simulate accurately in any game. So far I believe iracing has done a great job followed by AMS2.
      And for now, the best rally game (according to me) is indeed RSF RBR. I understand what people are after (maximum realism) and in order to create something like that would take an enormous amounts of funds and research (time as well).

      They really did. I’m not sure why it is so hard to make a hardcore rally game and give people time to get used to it.
